Idaho is so under rated, yet one of the most diversely beautiful places I have been and a nature photographers paradise. Thousand Springs I was not ready for the first time I stopped by there. I thought it was going to be a quick drive through but ended up spending most of a day there. Craters of the Moon was on my want list but I always bypassed it on my way to Yellowstone. I'm so glad I finally made it a destination and spent the better part of three days there taking it all in and photographing the rugged beauty there. The sun bleached dead trees really added to the otherworldly feeling. I still need to make it to City of Rocks and that area.
My husband and I have Idaho on our bucket list! Since we saw a documentary on ether Netflix or Amazon? And we were Wowed by the whole State! Amazing 🤩! Thank you so much for this video!
I'm so excited to watch all of you go to Craters of the Moon, someplace I've been and being able to experiencing it again. I even stayed at the same KOA.
We were at Craters of the Moon last month. Really cool place and the campground that was there is going to be a stop for us next time through. I imagine they get some spectacular night sky’s in that park!
Thank You !!!! Me and my BRIDE ( of 35 yrs. ) are planning a road trip out west in a couple of yrs. She said she wanted to go to Idaho. I said why, it's just flat land and a bunch of potato fields. Thanks to you and some other RV full timers I have been watching for about 3 yrs, I have eaten my words. With this last video it reminds me how wrong I was and now Idaho is at the top of the list of places to see out west. Thank you for taking us on your journey around the US to show us all the wonderful places our country has to offer. Love watching your channel and family. Stay safe and enjoy every moment with family, it passes by far to quick. THANK YOU !!!!!
One of the things we have learned in our years of travels is there is something beautiful in every state and we loved to be surprised when we find it. ❤
Not far from the Craters of the moon is a museum of the Japanese internment camp. There is a nice visitor center and you can walk around and learn about the thousands of people that lived there during WWIl because we were so afraid. They delete with such unfairness with so much grace. Many of their children were even drafted. It is inspiring. It a great historical stop.
Great video. We lived in idaho our whole life until this summer. Moved to Kansas. Lol sounds crazy. Southern idaho is considered a “high desert” since it’s a desert at higher elevation.
We camped at the campground there in the Craters of the Moon monument. Tight spots and all lava rock. Covered all the trails you hit. Nice you could meet up with FOS.
If you ever find yourself traveling thru north-central Illinois, take the time to visit The Allerton Estate. It's not really "otherworldly", but is a bit of a step back in time. After having been abandoned for quite some time, it's now under either state or private ownership (I forget which), open to the public on a limited basis. You'd have to do a search to find info on it, which I have done a number of times, but always late at night after a couple of adult beverages, so my memory of my search results is a bit foggy, apologies. I lived in the area briefly in 1973, when it was still abandoned, and my boyfriend (an Illinois native) took me there one afternoon. The memories of that day are with me still, over 50 years later. Highly recommend.
We spent 3 nights in the Craters of the Moon campground. It was amazing. We could hop on our ebikes and just cruise through the park and got to see just about everything.
I visited Craters of the Moon in the early 70s when we were driving across the US to my dad’s next assignment (Hawaii)in the Air Force. I was 11 years old and still remember it. We’re planning a trip to Alaska next year and we’re planning stops in Idaho along the way.
We live in OR. but my wife is from ID. so we have been to most of the places you are showing. I think you'll understand why we have never relocated other than to visit. We were just at the falls yu were showing this summer. Well worth the trip
A couple of places that look like another world to me are Antelope Canyon and Meteor Crater in Arizona; Devil's Postpile and walking inside an Earthquake Fault in Mammoth Lakes California; and Goosenecks State Park in Utah.
Nathan, I have been in a lot of states, as we moved from time to time when my dad was in the Air Force. I went to College at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and joined the Campus Christian Fellowship, we took many trips, one of them was to Craters of the Moon. That was awesome. We also went to Jackson Hole, rode the river raft on the Snake River, Timpanogas Cave, Provo Utah, Canyanlands, Newspaper Rock, other parts of Idaho north of Bear Lake.
This is a great video. I love underrated or little known places. It certainly doesn’t look crowded. What time of year were you there and how many days are recommend to see all the places you visited?
You have to go to Elk River ID. You literally drive until the highway ends and there is Elk River. There is hiking and waterfalls. Tons of history. Very RV friendly. The best huckleberry ice cream you will ever have. My Dad is also the Mayor there
You should check out Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado. It is one of those places that makes you wonder how a place like that came to be located where it is.
Your videos are the best. You and your family are just so cute and so appreciative of life. Thank you for the videos of the sawtooth area. I went through there not too long ago and I obviously went through there way too fast because I didn't see any of these things. Your videos teach me to slow down. You guys are great!
How were you guys right in my backyard and I didn't run into you somewhere?? I literally live right in the middle of all this and grew up about 4 miles from the ice caves in the little town of Richfield (born and raised) and I own a saloon in one of the oldest buildings left in town. Never been in them because I'm not a cave person but I have taken a lot of friends there to explore. We have so many Indian artifacts, lava tubes and caves in the desert surrounding us, very fun to explore on an ATV. Next time either of your families are in Southern Idaho let me know and I would love to show you some of the hidden gems that aren't on the maps. Hope you loved Southern Idaho!
It's been fun to see our state through your eyes. You hit many of our favorite places and made us a little homesick. We left Boise 3 1/2 years ago to RV fulltime and to work as a travel nurse. City of Rocks was the first place we took our 5th wheel when we were getting things figured out. Stanley is on the top of our list and we spent 3 months in the Twin Falls area when I took a job there. Thousand springs is so wonderful. The only place you missed was Box Canyon. It is really unique. You literally walk out in the middle of a field and the ground just opens up with a huge spring and canyon with waterfalls and again crystal clear water. Put it on your list for the next time you go to Idaho. We love watching your family!
For lava visit Valley of Fire Rec area near Carrizozo, NM. About 90 mikes south if there is White Sands National Park Then several hours west of there (almost into Arizona) is City of Rocks State park
I am sure I have said I live in Idaho, been to all of these places. City of Rocks has a great state campground, I have stayed there several times. Actually I think it is called Castle Rocks campground, but it is right by City of Rocks..
Love you guys. Thanks for the family videos. We want to take grandkids next year. Can you share what month? And where uou stayed. We are 40 ft 5th wheel.
Amazing!! We’re the springs as cold as Florida springs? Or colder? We live here and still haven’t visited all of them!! If you haven’t checked out some in Florida, they are amazing!! Kayaking, tubing, swimming!! You can dive down to try to see the hole where the water comes up!! Sometimes hundred feet below. Crazy!! The springs are 78 degrees Year round. And in the winter all the manatees come in to keep warm. No swimming then though. Some absolutely amazing springs!! Can’t wait to get to Idaho though!! 😄
We sure did, we have a lot of videos from Florida springs. As a matter of fact, I just remembered we have a playlist of Florida springs. ruclips.net/p/PLsbCfw4A0PRqNWi3b9vX8s6ZqxAm4MeRd

Great video and my other favorite RV family ,”Finding Our Someday”! Glad you guys could catch up on the road. We love our RV friends that we have made along the way. Best of times.
Nathan I'm not sure that Marissa isn't from another world because she is out of this world beautiful. But seriously, I must thank my parents for going to a different place every year on vacation. I've continued the tradition. I've been to every state in the union except for Alaska, California and Nevada, and I'm planning on getting to them in the next few years. Keep the good stuff coming guys and give the kids a hug from me.
I've really enjoyed your Idaho videos. Who knew Idaho was so spectacular? When did y'all go? Not many people around so it seems like a good time. Keep em coming.😊

Hi Nathan and Marissa. My husband and I just watched your trip to Idaho on RUclips because we are from Idaho and wanted to see the places you visited. I've lived here all my life, in Pocatello and I love it! I really wish that people knew how beautiful Idaho really is instead of thinking all there is, are potatoes. We can travel 20 minutes and be at a campground, or 40 minutes and be skiing, or a half hour and be water skiing, or 10 minutes and be rock climbing. Hiking is really close as well. I loved hiking up to balanced rock!! I didn't know about it until 4 or 5 years ago when my friend and I decided to go climb it. We had so much fun! It was soooo good to watch the places you and your family visited here in Idaho. Im sure its to late to suggest another place to see but if you're ever here again you need to go to the Minetonka Ice Caves, Bloomington Lake and Bear Lake if you didn't while you were here. They're all about in the same vicinity and they are soooo amazing!!! Your kids are cute! Brenda🙂
Unusual and stunning landscapes I always come back to Utah and the incredible landscapes. Deadhorse state park is awesome, canyonlands, Bryce is an underrated gem. So amazing! Can’t forget Sedona AZ….stunningly beautiful.
Craters of the Moon is one of my favorite National Monuments. If you get to Flagstaff, Arizona, I recommend Walnut Canyon National Monument to see the Cliff Dwellings built between 1123-1250. Wow that is so beautiful, Im surprise how the kids sre changing, JJ is doing so good at walking everywhere and your daughter well she is climbing and walking since she was little, I know you been to New Mexico but we have a place tgat is called Bisti Badlands, is beautiful and out of this world, ...we also have Carlsbad caverns, White Sands those are few places to stsr... Your family would love Edisto Island, SC, specifically Botany Bay and the Driftwood Beach! We were in awe with our visit over Spring Break 2023.
That is a beautiful place.
Your in YT Christine aka Frugal Fit Moms hometown.
Loved watching & coming along on the adventure🥰🍁🇨🇦
Def on our bucket list now!
Enjoyable watch. Thanks for making the video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
More encouragement to head to Idaho next year. Thanks!

If you want another out of this world destination, go to White Pocket in Arizona. Near Lake Powell. Pretty neat area!
Thanks!
Your kids will remember some of it I bet! I was 3 when we went to Disneyland in 1959 and I remember some of it.
Need to check out mesa falls
Palo Duro canyon state ❤park is worth checking out with nice camping and hiking. Come during summer and watch the outdoor musical Texas!

One of the coolest places! Yes we love it there.
Crater Lake Oregon.

The Inferno Cone was so cool, didn’t think we’d ever get to the top!
Have you been to Goblin Valley in Utah?
Super cold! Goblin Valley is on the list. We drove by once and hated we didn’t stop.
I’m loving these Idaho videos - so awesome!!
I noticed you didn’t take the Oru kayak this time around….. did it leak?? That’s my biggest worry if I take my daughter out with me is that the kayak will sink! 😜

Idaho has the most volcanos but not the most active.
