I've used a morticer for many yrs, bought the 700 with all the bits. £1000+ !!!! sick of spending a few hrs morticing , this reduced it to a fraction of the time, is very accurate & no messing about trying to cut tenons to fit, absolutely no regrets buying it. admittedly bought the Kapex 120 to get spot on sq clean cuts, which it does, no regrets with that either, it compliments the domino.
I am going to buy one of these babies; but I remain to be convinced about their use for an external door. I will happily come back and admit I am wrong, if I am! so Thanks for this.
My wadkin tenoner second hand was about same money as the domino and kills this for rail tenons and the chain morticer is not much slower for door making. Rediculous price really for its limitations.
Not a bad video for demonstrating the features of the Domino LX, however don't you think it's irresponsible to be putting out a video with Trevor not wearing safety glasses nor ear defenders?
+Christina Applegate Its a fantastic piece of equipment. I have one.Fast and accurate and strong. Just the way you want joints produced in the production environment.Cut with hand? Great but slow and no time to sit back and admire your hand skill acheivments.
Well I must be a cheat then, but I can make joints faster than you that are plenty strong enough to last forever. Anyone who owns one loves it. It is a brilliant machine...

Just got my XL ,I put my base for my Roubo bench together with 4 140 mm dominos..it a beast.. crazy strength 👍😊
Dry fit? Ha! How many Trevors did it take to get that 'dry fit' tabletop apart?
What size boards did you use for the table top
not the best advert . But it is still the finest thing festool make

I can assure you, you will be wrong. Festool domino is one of the very best tools on the market!
best tool ever invented..end of...
Anyone like to make a comment about external door manufacturing with this tool? Thinking about this instead of tenoner

the xl could be used to cut out for a mortice lock on a door if festool did larger bits, think how easy fitting lock would be, with the xl, mmmmmmm
You can already do that if you build a jig.
Robert Pap yes I know
palmer3977 just set it up to work from both sides of the door..

Audio sucks!
Overpriced gimick tool for cheats who dont want to cut proper joints that last.
Christina Applegate I take it you can't afford one LOL

how do you know this joint won't last? If it's just because you can't afford it get over it.
