- In this video we take a look at the VW Polo that Toby, our videographer has been driving for the last year or 2. He's finally saying goodbye to this trusty steed, since I found him a newer Golf to trade up into. I gave him £500 for this car and I'm not sure what to do with it now!

Hey Joe that suspension may be that way cause young Toby may have been having to much fun in the back seat with the young lady's he kept looking at the rear mm you think he looking to see if he had left a tell tale sign lol

My girlfriend has a 2006 1.4 Polo that has tapped for the last 35,000 miles and still refuses to die (it’s on 216,000 miles now). Your Polo has got to be worth £500 - £600 of anyones money. Yet another cracking video.
Jheez, only thing missing is the blacked out windows & he could've set up Toby's Street Pharmacy Ltd whippin excursion around the local estate. Dread to think what he does with the Golf...
Had to share my first motor with my mum. It was a 1.0L Nissan Micra ......Automatic! Great video, had a good laugh with you and the memories it evoked. Hope Toby has found something better now :)

Great video and content. Good to see Toby on the camera, and trying to point out the good points of the car 😂😂 It sounded like an old diesel when reversing into the cleaning bay. You're definitely a good boss, keep it to run cars down to MOT, but sort the 1st gear issue out.

Good video. Toby did a good job of mentioning the features of this Reflex Silver Polo Car, but he forgot to mention the blue instruments and red needles when you switch the lights on, which looks so cool. It should do about 45 to 50 mpg. I like the stripey seats. This S model's 'Climatic' air conditioning comes on and off automatically. Or at least it's meant to.
Owned 1, driven 2 other ones all with the same 1.4. They all tap away and sound diesel like at low rpms. Nothing wrong they run just fine, sold it to a mate its at 140k now and still going strong.

I've got the 1.4 TDi, on coilovers and alloys, brilliant car, over 60mpg and very reliable.
Some nice footage of the Somerset levels! From 6 feet, it looks tidy! The clip of the Chinese induction kit 😂 I hope in 15 years Toby looks back on this and realises the error of his ways!
These Polo Cars have the most ferocious dash-mounted drink-holders in the world. I'm going to go for 110,000 miles, just like mine has done. I have the exact same model of Polo Car, except it's 1.2. And it's black.
And said cup holders also get stuck🤣🤣🤣mine was stuck first and then I unstuck it and now it's a catapult
@@Afraz_9n3Yes. My car's previous owner was very partial to sugary coffees looking at the state of my cup-holder mechanism. It was amazing how much sticky brown filth ran down the side of the dash console after spraying boiling water all over it.
@@owensteele1645 my cars previous owner apparently didn't use the cup holder at all😂makes sense considering they only had it 4 years and done 30k miles before crashing it

How about an engine swap? I think this uses the same engine as the black Ibiza you did a short while ago.
Mk1 Leon s has the same vw 1.4, had the same tapping noise. Hydraulic Valve lifters are the cause. I don't think engine flush will fix. New lifters required.
"You'd have to put your foot flat to the floor to move" BECAUSE THE OIL IS LIKE MOLASSES WOW.
Oh and it's 75 BHP.
12:54 dont go into first 👍🏽😂😂i have a 1.2 and you can literally just use 2nd to move off. Not that i need to because my first gear actually works🙂

Hi Joe. It has a big end bearing wear. After 2k with that noise . It hasn't got much life left.
Its not that bad my first car was mk4 fiesta with the 1.25 dont forget the 5 😂 with ripspeed wheels. When i sold it i jacked it up to remove said wheels and the car barely moved just the sill. Somehow it survived another 2 years.
Well I must say if next weekend vlog is only 33 minutes long then he yes must be sacked 😂😆😅🤣

I have lived all my life in the USA. My first car I got in April 1973 and 18 years old, was a Ford Falcon that was far worse than this VW.

I would probably advise people not to bother trying to contact your Cars bought for more. As I filled in your on line form and it said I would be contacted or by phone or email within 24hours but alas I heard nothing not even we don't want to make you an offer. At least We buy any car. Or Motorway send you an offer.

Scrap value. Quality German build eh. My friend bought a transporter last year had to spend thousands on it, gearbox, clutch, suspension arms door locks. Deadlocked door. Electrical gremlins dashboard failure 2007. Dreadful. I am not a vag fan anymore I like the older french stuff with TU engines. No rust either. No doubt get a kicking. Also like japanese.

Looks like a £200 car, reknowned for stretched chains/burnt valves/rust etc. +maintenance issues, uff! I think £500 is Abit too much, you're too soft!
The 1.4 does not have a chain. It's a belt.
