Thank you! This saved me $300 by doing myself. Cant believe the Nissan dealership is so greedy. Be sure to check to make sure the handle and lock work before putting the door back on. Also I did this without unhooking the mirror behind the door and light at the bottom. You can get the handle off and on with those still hooked up. Also when putting the door back on there is small white latch at the top on mirror side that the door has to slide behind that to get it to fit right at the top. You can do it!
Word for word what it takes to replace this part. Took almost the exact time you said to do it also. Pretty easy job don't pay a mechanic for this. Part got to my house from Amazon in one day and installed it at least in 30 min, maybe less. Also works on similar years. Mine is a 2013.

He'd much rather do things himself, partly because of cost, but mostly because he enjoys it, and he always does a better job on something of his or ours than anyone you can pay to do it, they don't care as much and don't have as much invested in it! Awesome video! We fixed it ourselves and my husband doesn't like attempting to fix anything because he's afraid he'll "mess it up". One suggestion: At 3:54, if you can have a clip of how to attach the lock wire, that would've saved us a couple minutes. 😃
I have this same problem. I feel like a freebaser rolling down my window and reaching out to open my door. I ordered a replacement online for about $12, free delivery.

I didn't show it but I explained it in the video. Also you can watch me install it back in to learn how to take it out. But to explain it, you have to use a small screwdriver to pop that black cover piece off that is behind the handle. Then there is one screw that holds the handle on. Once you take the screw out, the door handle will pop out and you will have to unhook the wires from it. Then it is just the reverse to install it. See it that helps. It is really simple and quick.
when prying plastic....you should never use a metal screw driver, is it will damage the plastic, instead you can get for cheap.....plastic trim prying tools...@@SouthernFoodJunkie
@@mansandem Yeah your right, I just didn't have one but seriously, I've done that for years with no issue. But I agree with you I need to invest in one of those. I mainly use the screw driver to pick the plastic up then pull with my fingers. I appreciate your recommendation, seriously I do!
