Hi David, Thanks for the great lesson. An excellent teacher is able to take a complicated subject and make it palpable and easy to understand. Your lesson on “El Paso” reflects the fact that you’re an excellent teacher. By the way, to be an excellent guitar teacher, you don’t have to be the best guitar player in the world. You do have to possess a solid understanding of the learning process, and you have to be able to present the material in digestible portions with plenty of repetition, topical visual aides, modelling of the skills being taught, plus provide plenty of positive encouragement along the way. David, your teaching reflects a lot of empathy for the student. You put yourself in your students’ shoes, and your lessons always put the student front and centre in your approach. I really commend you for your excellence! Thank you
Like, I cannot say this enough. I just got a guitar. Only a little bit of music experience. This lesson connected the steps so seemlessly, taught a (again no experience, so maybe its easy) complex technique, and made it so fun. I frikkin love this song, and its really inspired me to continue to push hard!
Learn this, and you have the key to a lot of musical diversity...it has it all,(Even an awkward silence). Grady Martin, (the picker/producer), on this one, (I believe), was behind some of the greatest riffs, of an influential time in recording history...(look him up).

My grandma used to live next to Marty Robbins as a kid before he became famous
that's so cool! My grandpa grew up with Patrick Swayze
I believe you
I grew up with leukaemia and though I got rid of the disease I never got rid of the psychological impact it had on me
My dad met Joe Montana, and my great grandfather/uncle was once public enemy No.1
What did she say about his personality?

God I really wish I didn't have the sense of humour of a 12 year old
Superb lesson David, thanks. If you don't mind me asking, what guitar are you using?

I wish I were in Texas...

Show me how to play el passo
?
Maybe I'm over reacting but fuck you made it complicated. I just wanna know how to strum the song and which chords to play.
I learned this through Ivor Sorefingers on RUclips. He's very good if you want to strum it, and does a simple but very authentic intro.
sorry ..intro not correct ...but good effort
Please post your correct tutorial version. Everyone is anxious.
