Everything about this screams early 2000s. The cars at the beginning are all late 90s early 2000s, the manager's haircut and beard look like smashmouth and all the other brands. The mp3 being new, the capacity on the ipod. This is brilliantly capturing life in like 2003
it was! i remember recording it on VHS with my family. the episode he made his boss look like an idiot was the last one he ever did though. way ahead of his time
americans may not realize it but this show had a live studio audience like SNL. perhaps the laughs are 'boosted' by an audio engineer but when you watch the full show you can tell there are actual people there, like a late-night talk show. does sound especially 'laugh track'-like in isolation but keep in mind nathan is hilarious and these segments were quite popular on this otherwise very mediocre show (how else do you jump from the CBC to comedy central?)
yeah 128mb was more than enough at the time. I just switched it up based on my mood that day. Tbh i mostly just filled it with episodes of Ricky Gervais, Steve Merchant with Karl Pilkington's XFM show. Being radio they were pretty compressed so i managed to fit around 10 hours of it on there at a time. Swapping out episodes once i've listened.
djlf 1 yea, it's not nearly as funny when there's a laugh track, but nathan for you is something that takes more energy to watch because it's so genius. i wasn't ready to watch nathan for you when i clicked on this video so i was happy to see there was a laugh track, an easy watch
Nathan is such an expert at making people uncomfortable
Nathan is serving face in this
That other guy was a pretty good sport.
He legit thought it was funny. He tried once to play along... then respectfully bowed out. A masterclass in being clowned.

In Canada it is only 2003 right now.
this was actually from around 2008
TheKinglax94 I
dont forget the laugh track
This doesn’t need a laugh track
David H oh
It's not
Dumbass
congrats, welcome to television up through the mid 2000's
I don't think the person thought it was fake. I think they thought the laughter was just annoying.
Hey everybody, quick PSA. This video does not use a laugh track. It is the reaction of an audience. Thanks.

this is some alpha power play by nathan right here
thank god nathan for you doesnt have a laugh track
This doesnt have a laugh track either
Laugh track /=/ live studio audience. They are both incredibly annoying
Its Nathan, not nathan.
It's*
I’ve never even noticed it doesn’t till today.
But this skit is HILARIOUS.
Don’t know how many times I’ve watched it.
Good to know that before he was for me, that he was always on my side. Thanks for this how-to advice- still relevant today!
*look I'm just browsing, I'll be fine*
When you die you get added to the laugh track
I had no idea he used to do his show in Halifax. So funny
MIght seem old but, I bought my first MP3 player and it had a whopping 32MB of memory. So 512MB to 2GB was a quantum leap from the first players.
Kevin Burns that’s like 6-10 songs
How does he not break character?
What character?
Adam Rajnovic Exactly
I think it's just mild exaggerated of his own personality.
“ACTING!”
just browsing
Nathan = genius! These poor people ... also 512mb, uuhh yeah... sexy
lol my first mp3 player was 128mb
It's not like you need that much storage for music.

Love those guys so much! Couldn't script a conversation better than they naturally have one.
I've probably listened to those and the podcasts like 10 times. Hysterically funny!
he's so fresh faced
This is so good
Pure genius
Nathan is the best
Nathan, brought to you by Cyberlife
Where. Has this dude been? This is genius
Didnt notice the laugh track, was too busy watching nathan fielder
*IT'S NOT A LAUGH TRACK IT'S A LIVE AUDIENCE*
I’m so sad that I’ve already watched all of these
The salesman does ASMR videos now
Simon Morgan where
Link?
laugh track makes it better for a casual watch because it's not as awkward, it takes less energy to enjoy
mbrucell I watch Nathan for the awkwardness
you must be american
it makes it way less funny, only retards need to be told when to laugh
djlf 1 yea, it's not nearly as funny when there's a laugh track, but nathan for you is something that takes more energy to watch because it's so genius. i wasn't ready to watch nathan for you when i clicked on this video so i was happy to see there was a laugh track, an easy watch
Alan J Rubin me too
I like the laugh track because it lets me know that what's happening is funny!
2gb... bruh
Do you realize when this was filmed?
twenty years later, apple barely gives us 8GB for music and pictures...fuck apple
For music only is still quite fine. And if you are fine with meh quality (spotify free is 160Kbps OGG) it's almost "huge" .
This looks like the sizzle reel that became Nathan for you.
Nova Scotians are the nicest people on the planet
This man is great
This is incredible.
I CANT BREATHE
This tickles my brain in a strange way.
Omg. Crying
The laugh track made me want to actively not laugh.
It's not, it;s a real audience. But you have 234 likes so you are winning in life atm.
laugh track or live audience isnt the point, its annoying and forced either way
@@gavin-1237 in what world is genuine laughter forced? lol
Wow!! 2 gigabytes?! I've heard the iPod is pretty awesome. Anyone get the new one yet??
Amazingly funny
So where can I find one of these M3P players? Radio Shack or something?
hilarious
I nearly pissed myslef
when did this air originally?
He looks so young here!
lol, so good
I loved the laugh track
The canned laughter utterly ruins this
amazing
What a pushy salesman! Take a hint!
where can i get me one of the empy three players?
this works so much better without the laugh track, i dont need to be told when nathan fielder is being funny
It's a live show, not a laugh track
NATHAN IS BEING FUNNY EXACTLY RIGHT NOW. LAUGH BITCH!
Seems like he took a lot of inspiration from Tom Green
So funny
What was he listening to????
Laugh track does not work for this humor at all
Retro
512MB!? LOL!!!
I actually find the laugh track funny. A laugh track doesn't always work, but here I thought it was pretty funny.
2 gig fuck thats shit
This reminds me of Tosh.O 😂
That's Sam Pepper, why pretend that he's someone else? The dodgy American accent is also a giveaway.
Gregory's Goals sam shaved his head
Not a good salesman lol
I feel like this guy tries way too hard to be funny
