I think any attempt to take away the veto of one of the top 5 countries in the un, requires all 5 members to support. In other words it would require the us to agree to take away the us Vera power. Same for trying to kick the US out, that also requires the us agree to it. I believe they could however establish an organisation equivalent to the un and be in both while they transition to this new organisation. They fact that don't suggest to me that most of the more powerful members probably mostly like it the way it is. And the more minor members are worried about consequences mainly from the us. I've heard BRICS apparently gives each country equal power and no veto power, it apparently relies on consensus from all members.
