I'm a huge Hazard fan. Magical player but he does cause issues in formation that Madrid will need to consider. Marcelo will not be enough behind him. I really don't know much about Mendy. Mourinho played a natural RB at LB to put his best defender on the left. Sarri wanted to play him as a false 9. My favorite solution was Conte's 3-4-3. that was genius imho. You definitely pay what Madrid did for Hazard, but I am concerned that a Marcelo pairing may not be enough.
Exactly it’s the reasons why they won the league two years ago. You had guys like James, morata, Isco/bale sitting on the bench. I’m all for signing young guys for the future but if you want to win the league you kinda need an overflow of starter quality players on the squad

Not really, Varane and Ramos were decent, Nacho, Carvajal, and Marcelo very poor. Also, when you don't have danger upfront, you get a little more defensively exposed as opponents commit more numbers in attack.

Mendy and Reguilon should be fighting for left back as much as I love Marcelo it would’ve been smart (I believe) to replace some older players while you can get some money out of them now. Also, Vinicius would be a great sub/starter but they need someone better on the right wing.

Given we have 5 quality full backs when Mendy signs im not sure why his contract has been renewed. Ramos is still useful for his leadership. But if he doesn't up his game from last season then militao better step in. What confuses me is Pepe and Ramos were always error prone ..Varane only started making mistakes last season i think. And for France he is impeccable. I think partnership is everything. When Varane plays with Nacho it's a horror show.

Hala Madrid ! Signing Hazard is the first big step. I do feel both Modric and Varane were off their games last season, which I attribute to fatigue from the WC. I blame coaching decisions for Madrid's lousy La Liga season. Solari did some good, in that he got a lot of young players involved and playing well at times. Vinicious looks very promising and I'm glad he got playing time. Solari's mistake was that he undermined the confidence of the established players. Marcelo is the best left back in Europe, and you don't bench a player of his caliber. Casimiro, Kroos, and Modric were all in the doghouse at times during the season. Having Zidane back will help. I'm still looking for another big signing. I'm hoping to see Pogba at RM to revitalize our midfield attack.
I believe they should sign another midfielder to compete with Kroos and Modric, another young center back. They are ok in attack.

Has Shaka heard of rotation and the bench? A huge problem for Real last season was their CB depth, they relied almost completely on Ramos and Varane leaving them continually exhausted and the drop off when either was injured or booked was big (Nacho isnt as solid a defender as he once was, and Vallejo still hasnt matured as a defender). Militao is a smart move for the present depth and for the future with his potential.
Forwards are great but they need midfield and defensive tune ups ASAP !
How are they gonna afford that? They've already bought players for €300M. Apparently, they want Eriksen for the MF. Which would be insane, but he'd cost at least another €120-130M, if not €150M. All together, they would have over €400M spent, maybe even close to €500M. FFP will fuck them sideways.

As a Barca fan, I like this move. Hazard is a top player who would indeed strengthen Madrid. Hope Barca are still able to dominate the league as years gone by (however, I actually prefer if they win see UCLs). Barca need to strengthen though.

He's an absolute finisher who's a natural 2 feet, which are extremely rare, last I can remember was Sneijder. Plus he's not that extremely young with 22 years. On top of that he played only at quite a poor team with Frankfurt, which he carried through the Bundesliga, possibly into the europa league!

The defence definitely needs work. We didn't score goals this season and it was obvious we needed goals but heck, that defence was horrible ALL season! Like Islop said, Militao isn't coming to displace Ramos or Varane, at least not this season. Mendy won't bench Marcelo because Zidane still believes in Marcelo....even I still believe he's not past his prime. So it will be mostly the same defence set up as this season....this is why Zidane has to do something about it. In his first season, he made everyone work....they pressed high and chased the ball whenever they lost it....everyone chased the ball, even Ronaldo helped a lot in defence. That's the only solution I see that can work. The whole team has to play like Klopp's Dortmund and Liverpool teams and press hard. The goals will come up front as we now have good attackers. Once we can tighten midfield and defence and Hazard and co produce the goals up front....we won't only close the gap, we can win the league and with the depth in the squad now, we can challenge for the UCL as well....Courtois needs to get his ish together though
I can see Militao replacing Varane or Ramos but there is still a whole lot of sorting around in defense

Look i know people will disagree with me. But im not fussed about hazard moving to real. I genuinely believe this was due to his ego as to why he didnt move before due to ronaldo being there. I think this is abit like henry moving to baralona. Its a move thats 2 seasons too late. He will do fine no doubt but dont think he will light up this real team and drive them to new heights in the same manner he did with chelsea. 1 more season then we will see his prime.
