The bottle caps for a bicycle was the first or pilot series. Very few people remember it & the cast members were different for the parts of Wally, Ward & even Fred Rutherford (that is, there wasn't a F. Rutherford part). Richard Deacon was playing the part of an executive for the Franklin Milk Co. The milk co. wasn't actually having a contest for a bicycle, but the milk co. execs saw the PR value of it, & the fact that the 2 boys had collected 1.000 bottle caps & awarded the bicycle anyway.
