    Gear:
    200X Peavey Windsor Head
    1973 Marshall 1960B with two '73 T1221 Greenbacks and two '76 T1281 Blackbacks
    2008 Gibson Les Paul R9 with a Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro in the bridge Stratocaster with 1960s Lipstick pickups.

    It’s amazing how no amp builders can make something like this and sell to general market for 400$ every thing sold leaves end user to needing more and forever stuck in a endless loop of needing more

    • @JohanSegeborn
      @JohanSegeborn  Год назад +7

      Glad you like the tone. Yeah this proves that world class tone is mainly in the electronically circuit and doesn’t necessarily need fancy components. But for bigger amp builders it’s hard to build a business case on that. Affordable world class stuff will always required a bit of investigation on the customers part

    • @nickbenjamin6527
      @nickbenjamin6527 Год назад +2

      Yes, there's a considerable 'sub-industry' of individuals making cool musical gear, selling direct to customers but does require investigation to find them as Johan says!! Maybe not at 400 bucks however...😅

    Wow, that sounds great! What an interesting mod! Tommy appears to be a genius. I'd love to see a schematic or a layout of what he's done to that Windsor, but understand if he'd prefer to keep the details to himself. I've never encountered a mod like this before. I like that double-gang preamp gain pot idea, the way it boosts mids as you turn it up. Very cool stuff. And fascinating that he deleted the feedback loop, making it more Vox-like. I am curious what the Resonance control does, now. He didn't go into the way that works. Is it not in circuit, anymore? Really really cool amp!

    I use a windsor regularly live with very good results but I would have to think Peavey would have created an instant classic if they went a bit further with the circuit design as shown by all the mods out there. In essence the Windsor is a jcm800 clone. I believe their basic circuit layout had more to do with patents than cost as it was a printed circuit made in China.
