I have been telling people about a personal care robot for quite some time. I said if I lived to get to be 100 years old, by then, they should have something there that mimics nursing care within my own personal home so I don’t have to go to a nursing home. Love the direction this is going in!
I work in tech. Don’t you worry. AI is coming for a LOT of jobs. You’ll be out of work in no time! What’s funny is looking at how the screen actors guild handled AI the moment it seemed like it might be able to do voice over work. They immediately set up their contract so AI couldn’t be used to take their job. Union jobs are great. Then engineers started making AI that can write code and jobs almost immediately started being replaced with AI with engineers putting other engineers and people they work directly with out of work. Customer support? That’s being replaced. Staff at grocery stores? They’re being replaced. Cashiers at fast food restaurants? They’re being replaced. Taxi drivers are being replaced (and the uber/lyft drivers that replaced taxi drivers). Sales reps are being replaced. Will you need a human to … sell you a car? To design a home? To diagnose simple medical issues? To talk to about your problems? To fly your plane? To drive your bus? To teach your kids? To handle ANY front desk job? A LOT of jobs out there are capable of being replaced by AI and some team in Silicon Valley is doing what they can to make sure people pay THEM instead of the humans who are current doing that work.
It's interesting to think about how difficult it can be to program a robot to do these tasks. Here, we're using human feedback to train the robot. It is not intuitively aware how to do these tasks. With software, it's easier to program to requirements, but in the real physical world, there's a whole new set of challenges. I wish all the robot folks well. Hopefully there will be an easier approach to programming these robots in the future.
i'm waiting for the bug-killing drones to come out. miniature drones that would clean out every bug, larva, pupa and insect egg from every part of a house and dispose of them miles away.
I wonder what the real product is like? Will it need constant software updates? Will it need tune ups or recalibration? Will it have multiple recalls because of safety concerns. Will it become obsolete after 10 years of service because it it because the software cant be updated?. Some of these problems already exist with my apple products. Vehicles seem to have multiple recalls and updates. Imagine these are the same type of engineers writing the codes. "We will fix it in post" is the attitude nowadays. Will there be subscription requirement? Of course there will be. I dont want to spend 10-20k on a product and in 10 years it because a paperweight.
Good points. Yes, there will be these hassles. Just so long as it treats stains in my shirt before washing, and cleans my toilet area without me having to do this anymore. I'll tolerate the other problems. 😀
The only general use robots I've seen undergo mass deployment are basically no more than an expensive security camera (Boston Dynamics Spot and Amazon Astro for example). Basically it feels like these robots capable of autonomous physical labor are going to be one year away for twenty years or more just as they have for the last twenty years (since I think Honda's Asimo is at least that old).
It’s 2024 lol these look from 2006. Cmon 😂 DARPA used to seem so ahead but now it seems as if it’s keeping us behind. To be fair the mobile aloha seems more like 2024
I work in the casino hotel hospitality industry in Las vegas, and I can see robots like these one day cleaning rooms, cleaning restrooms, and cleaning the casino floor. The Housekeeping Union's better watch out, and stop with all their demands, or the casino owners will just replace them with these robots. In fact, there's a Walmart in Las vegas, that uses a robot to clean their floors after the store closes. And, there's already virtual dealers in some casinos, and Robot Bartenders.
These robots look really basic compared to some of those we've seen. These are not much better than the robots that have been building cars for decades. I've seen much better Chinese robots with 5 fingers doing much more complex tasks.
Not wasting life doing repetitive chores doesn't mean people sit all daylong. People also have this category of activity called hobbies. No need to work means all the more time to enjoy life.
@@PigRipperLAW Like what? Playing on their phones all day? I'm for innovative technologies, but think people are much weaker today cognitively and physically.
A lot of people need carers especially in aging populations. If this could fill in for some of the menial tasks carers have to do then it could be useful

Me too! I hope it’s ready for my parents and me ❤
I'm a disabled veteran and I need one of these like yesterday 😎🤖
What kind of disability?
Can’t wait to get my robot legs that can bust down doors faster than SWAT
The "delicious satay shrimp 🦐" is on a level of limes in celebrity real estate 😂
Delicious what?
THANK YOU for including the question about robots replacing humans or taking jobs. This was great!!
I need this in my life
Should sell this to municipalities
1:14 I just want an arm like that to press my lower back indefinitely.
“You, you seem to be made for etiquette and protocol.” “I have no need for a protocol droid.”
Need a robot to do my job for me.. not just chores
Mine too
Working is cruel

I want both
Lazy
You won't own that bot. The wealthy will reap all the benefits.
Awesome tech :)

Imagine newer generations buying these in a tiny apartment. Takes up 8% of accessible floor space
No wonder students working on that 🤣
correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think this(TidyBot) runs on a LLM, it just doesn;t make any sense
Thanks 👍
1X robotics is making a robot that can do all your chores at home. Many videos of it on youtube.
how is it going to go up or down my stairs tho?
😂 Lexi is so adorable! I love this but seriously, it only takes only a few seconds make a bed or put your clothes in the hamper! Stop being lazy!
😢 show off
Humanoid robot is the only way for it to learn by watching like a baby. They have the same limbs as us.
I want a robot to cook my food.
The Future will be wonderful!
👮-" TidyCop go on patrol and bring in anyone without their documents"
🤖-"Sir! yes Sir! I am the law!"
Obviously these will be connected to wifi and will be sending all the data to manufacturer
i think i speak for all the southpark fans. "is it perhaps a pleasure model?"
Where is my keys!?
Litter picker upper 👍
I want one of those😂
I don't want robot to do my chores, I want them to steal my job so I can have time to do my chores!
Why not a robot that vacuums sweeps and lifts furnitures paints objects and does dishes and cooks

Sometimes i do have some responsibilities for myself just hard to do them all some robots can be able to solve that problem for me
Wall-E is Comming😅😅😅
Eventually robots and AI will do everything, there’ll be no reason to even get out of bed 🤷♂
Is your main purpose in life to do chores ?
Walle scenario
Unless you have a degree in programming.
What about living?
How do you make money?
I ❤ your data. 😂
Just goes to show how impressive the hand dexterity and control of the Teslas Optimus is even if they were not autonomous

Cool😊
Fill the universe
This goes to show that we’re not there yet.
But we will be, robotics & AI are exponentially growing
my home it gonna be as analog as possible... just my PC and wifi, but no! robots! that's insane and kinda creepy...
That would make me lazy
That my friend is what we call: being lazy
It’s 2024 lol these look from 2006. Cmon 😂 DARPA used to seem so ahead but now it seems as if it’s keeping us behind. To be fair the mobile aloha seems more like 2024
Humans are so intelligent, and at the same time so lazy, that they build robots to clean up their stuff. Amazing.
Building a robot is way more fun than doing the cleaning
Let machines do the boring, repetitive jobs so we can focus on creativity.
@@schwetang That will definitely happen. But it seems we're already working on creative machines as well.

Tesla Ai robot will do all this and still be cheaper 😅
Sure, by 2080.
So will illegal immigrants
40 k just for the Arm?? Wow thats really super expensive , too much , i can make it with 3d printing much cheaper
please watch where you walking when y get out of bed . tidy money lots🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
never happen never
Basically a useless robot
At what point do ppl not realize that they're lazy? You'll die earlier the longer you sit.

We are close to end times ! Robots wanna take over ! Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon🙏🏼❤️🕊Repent, believe in the Gospel, Be Born Again
Hahaha ha I can't wait to buy one
They already have. I want to become a robot. They can put your brain in one now.
@ do not take the mark of the beast! The wrath of GOD will be upon you.
