yes and no^ yes its expensive but is there another full billet option out there. imo that stuff is really only for full racecar builds. if u cant build it buy it. but if u can build it you will probblay think the buy option is expensive. i for one work on cars for a living. i will never pay someone 100 bucks an hour to fix my car. but i will pay someone 100 bucks an hour to wire my house or fix my ac unit. ect.
Super Stoked About the Turnout! Cant wait too see it run in person! It's always worth a wait, having taken your time and doing everything the way you want it. Good job!!
Right before you said something about needing to address the coolant system bleed, I was just about to make a comment. Happy to see you're on top of the issue and have a plan! I'm super stoked to see the progress! I can't wait to see this beauty hit the dyno and then see what adjustments you can make at the track! Keep putting in that hard work and awesome content. I truly appreciate it and I'm sure every other subscriber does as well!
I think you may know a guy that knows a guy that could get you one of those fancy cleeter valley covers 🤣…it’s sad everyone has to critique your work every time you do something, I get having to do things on a budget sometimes…keep up the great work
A lot of people have had oil pressure drop issues with k&n filters it seems like. I’d only run the wix racing or ac delco pf46e or pf48e, whichever threads your pan is. Car is looking awesome!
always go Wix kandn are cardboard base. KandN have the best Air filters tho from my little experience. SO glad to see the car running again keep up the good work!
Don’t forget that there is an oil pressure relief valve with a spring that’ll regulate the oil pressure. I have an issue with the 6.0 in my truck sticking that relief valve after “high” rpm pulls (up around 6800-7000) and it’ll drop to like 30#’s at idle for 15-20 minutes-ish after ripping on it. Then the oil pressure will snap right back up to 45~ at idle.
I haven't had much time to watch lately, but I got shot up so now I have plenty of time in recovery. The car is awesome and it is gonna be fast as fuck. The hard work pays off. Keep it up man.
Motor trend, engine masters did a filter test. KN gold won. Highest filtration with the least amount of restriction. Clear view filter system worked the best but it’s not a direct replacement
Yeah, after seeing this test, I started buying K&N oil filters again. I wish they would have tested them VS Amsoil's oil filters though, since it's _usually_ a show sponsor of theirs... but Amsoil doesn't make their own filters, so maybe that's why they didn't.
god it's been far too long can't wait to see her back on the track seems like not long ago i was watching you get booted out the track for the season only to do full tear down and rebuild the Metigulous way!
please.. do not 'rush'.. you have done a fantastic job on this car... no mickey mouse, junior varsity B.S.... do it right no matter how long it takes.. after all.. the dinner table and the home it sits in are primary.. that means AWESOME JOB on all the book-time!!!
Yeah lock tite is so important on fasteners that are in the intake, had an air cleaner nut and washer come off on my carb and the washer went thru the engine, lucky it only damaged a single valve and used the inconvenience to justify adding high rev valve springs.
I bought a tig welder from Jegs just so I wouldn’t have to pay anyone to weld aluminum. I used it to weld some mild steel but didn’t think to test it on aluminum. Well a year later I go to teach myself to weld aluminum and it seems like the ac/dc switch doesn’t work. It eats tungsten and just pits and burns the aluminum. Works fine on steel and dc. Fml bro.
Bro you can go to a hardware supply place and get some A/C core cleaner but make sure you get the outdoor kind and not the inside kind and it will clean a aluminum radiator like new bro just spray it with water then spray the core cleaner on it and it will foam out all the trash and bug guts for a few mins then just spray it with water and it will be like new I clean my own A/C unit at my house every year and my unit is 24 years old and still works like new lol
K&n filters are really trash !! And the 15-40 is super high in detergent and will end up swelling seals and causing leaks ! .. it is a great cleaner but I've learned not to daily drive around on it !! Still use it on any new motor that I get to get the gunk broken down and loosened up but yes don't daily 15-40 ...for your build I would run Brad penn!! or HTP .. I do use the Valvoline for break-in flushes being that it is cost-effective !!! Also pro tip !! Save the oil flushes in 5 gallon buckets with the grit trays they make for washing cars... And whats in the oil will settle so you can see exactly what you flushed out !! ..and also still be able to use the oil to pre-soak things for assembly in the future #don't be wasteful 🙃👌lol
Hey bro I seen you today at Conoco in berthoud, meant say I was a huge fan but had to do a double take thats why I looked at you kinda funny... Take it easy man just wanted to say what's up

I don't know if Tom asked you about doing my Turbo kit for my hyabusa over at Brent's it has been there ever since his old shop my battery died my new tires are flat I just want to get it back but he told me he was going to ask you to nock it out for him ??
I'm confused.. Tuning the tip-in with no charge tube on it? Does the enrichment not change drastically when you add the restriction of the cold side? Obviously it would be affected under boost, I just assumed it would change a lot when you put the cold side on..
VR-1? Schaffers? Nah bro... Amsoil Dominator. Sure, you have to order it and it's not on the shelf at a parts store, but bro, nothing is better! Proven over and over again to be the best of the best of the best! I mean, if you don't mind paying for it.
@@jpracing2007 @bassmanbobbasscovers You guys mention other brands, but I don't see 3rd party testing proving what you're claiming. But, I do see Amsoil in MANY independent tests proving their top spot. I've been using Amsoil Boosted myself for 880,000 miles on the same turbo 4 banger, so I think it's great, but I have no data to back that up. I do see data backing up Amsoil Dominator as the top spot all the time though. Show proof from multiple sources, please. Here's who shows proof of Amsoil: Project Farm, Motortrend, Engine Masters, WorldsBestOIl, OilDepot, TheBestOil, SlavensRacing, and many many others, all independent testing. Would I use Dominator in a street car? No, as is it's designed for full, wide open, long term constant high RPM use, which is exactly where it beats everyone in testing. So show me Penn, show me Soopers, tests under maximum duty conditions... I'll wait.
@@jpracing2007 not upset at all man, inflection is hard to convey in text. I'm just looking for a real 'prove this to me' data sheet showing something is better than Amsoil's Dominator Racing Oil. I'm 51 and have built a lot of engines myself. I stopped using Redline many years ago when I scatters rods for the 3rd time, at the same RPM, on the same track. Used Shell, Penn, etc, and I was convinced the engine bearing material was just going to be part of 11k RPM sustained no matter what until the team next to me told me to try Dominator. Now I'm not worried at all about temps over 220 and have pushed RPM deep into valve float territory for longer than I care to admit. None of this really matter though. Maybe I was building engines differently. Maybe cracked ring lands and melted wristpins were going to happen anyways. I don't know. I'm no tuner. I'm not a scientist. And to be honest, I'm no where near as meticulous as a lot of others and have destroyed many engines, of which I'm certain it was my fault. But, what I have seen is scientific proof. Hell if it weren't for the oil test lab, I would have been believed Dominator is made entirely of some sort of liquid zinc as you can run flat tappets and never get them to break in if you're using it. Which reminds me, don't use Dominator on a new build! lol
Cleetus has his own motion raceworks valley cover AND baffled breather adapters!

yea they are but what other full billet properly baffled options are there ?
Can’t wait for the first day at the track. This thing is going to be sick af.

Heat shield/wrap the radiator hoses, the exhaust pipe will be heating it up
Holy shit so much progress! Does sound super healthy. This setup is really badass I'd be stoked!!
Bring on the racing 🔥
The K&N is made out of thicker material which allows you to run higher pressure without bursting it.
Im subscribed but your videos never pop up in my recommended videos for some reason.. This time it did, awesome work!
Finally the Rx7 is back
ICT billet makes some nice steam pipe kits they have different ones
Run is the past participle of the verb run. Example: "I got the lines all run and installed."
Same for the future participle. Example: "They are going to get run to the back."
Filter is bigger to create more surface area for flow.
Sounds great buddy.
Do us all a favor and buy some aftermarket valve covers 👍
Just jack the front end up to help get the air out of the system man.
Tell Cleetus to send you some engine dress up goodies from Motion!
We got a junkyard lq4 sitting in grab n go spencer if you want a spare ls
Should have asked Bret. He has one of everything. Even though he's a Honda guy I would bet you Bret at PFI has one.

NICE MR WILSON. NICE
I break in using rotella 15w40 conventional then use there new 15w40 synthetic long term.
I think rear mounted rad would be your best bet.
It’s looking bad ass boyyyyyy 🤘🏻👌🏻👊🏻🇬🇧
I love the VR1 oil but don’t use k&n filter they are terrible for race stuff they can’t flow enough oil pressure I always use the ac delco filter
I'm pretty sure we will wait
You still gonna throw down against the MR2? Been waiting years to see this!! 👍🏻
you forgot your intake gasket
And get yourself an Airlift Radiator Filling Tool.
