I always look forward to videos with Shannan. She’s so knowledgeable and real about the industry without the bitterness many carry after years in the game.
Shannan again. I love her interviews. Very intelligent woman. I'm gonna pay her to read my scripts and pay her to help me correct any written mistakes I may have.... I'm currently working on a cannabis documentary and a homeless documentary. After those, I'm gonna dig back into my feature length scripts. Much respect Film Courage for giving writers, producers, directors and actors a platform 👍🏾 👏🏾
@@myNarrator I would like to highlight the recent legalization of cannabis throughout many states. B-Roll some smoke shops and street smokers. Get some raw interviews from people who served time for weed etc.
@@DJSharpBeats very cool. I'd love to help you, but I'm in Canada. If you come here though, I can hook you up with a shop owner, a couple of police officers that would be happy to chat about what legalization has done here, and a fairly influential figure in the Canadian cannabis industry.
I really enjoyed the interview-- hearing about Ms. Shannan E. Johnson's ascension within the entertainment industry as an executive and a business CEO.
This lady is very helpful for writers... Especially with character descriptions. Meet Shannon: (first short version) "A hand-talker. Loves making important decisions about ear rings ...." I might delete the love remark. Shorter. The setting on the plane or in Sweden already does that. So I start again: Meet Shannon: "A hand-talker. Decides on ear rings". That's better. A hand-talker must be confident, even pretty. Is articulate (with the odd grammatical mistake). Like to think she knows how to tell stories, but instead, now decides on ear rings. Thank you, Shannon.
After a course of screenwriting and after reading, of course, all the recommended books and bibles... I watched many, many videos here, before I started writing. You're the best channel for aspiring filmmakers. SHE is Excellent explaining concepts. Is she still doing script consulting? I would pay for her to read the screenplay of my feature.
Shannan is amazing. I have so much respect for her, her intellect, and her gift of being able to synthesize complex information and explain it on an elementary level.
About midway through, she talked about the discouragement of waiting to be told what to do because of the slower learning curve. I tend to have that happen to me most of the time when I'm in a new situation even when I'm "prepared" somewhat. So hearing that from someone like her was reassuring.

I've seen a good number of cannabis documentaries. Would you mind sharing your angle on the subject?

@@myNarrator I'm wondering if I can even enter Canada 🇨🇦
I have a drug possession/distribution felony on my record from 23 years ago.

Very interesting video. Thank you !
Great interview. This is the bureaucracy film students don’t get exposed to until it’s too late
I like her out put about the film business.
Very good interview
I am 5 mins in and I am blown away at how she holds herself, I could see her firing someone and them leaving happier than when they came in.
I had no idea that entertainment execs micromanaged scripts line by line, let alone at the earring level!
Great interview!!
She’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever listened to.
Yay Shannon is back!
She is on point 💯.
I did 2 episodes of Friday night lights. I thought it was set up for failure with airing on Friday night also!
Great interview!
Great interview! ❤
I really would enjoy more development executives on the channel. Great insight on the current trends and behind the scenes work
Wonderful experience based talk with full of facts. Super Shannan

I’m also FSU Alumna so it felt good to see another FSU Black Women in Film doing her thing 😊🥰✨
Great interview, it's interesting to hear the suits' side of life.
These Rock!
Cool Video
With these clips it’s best to turn off the sound and read the captions ignore the body language.

Man! Easy to follow considering she is talking 100 mph.
