I like the facsimiles myself because it allows me to read and have in my collection books that I could never afford first-print editions of. In addition, and an added bonus for me, I feel the quality of the writing and art is far superior to the majority of books coming out these days, especially when comparing to Marvel and DC offerings.

I feel the same about having the books. It allows me to read Action Comics 1 or Detective Comics 27 that I couldn't afford to have the originals for. Also I l love looking at the old ads and letters pages. Almost a snapshot in time.

Love the facsimile editions for all the reasons you pointed out. Plus, as someone else said in the comments, they are better reads than most of the krr@pp on the shelves these days. I also noticed that some of the facsimile back issues are now raising in values. I've seen some of them (1st Punisher and others) for sale at $20 to $25. Even graded facsimiles go up to a 100 bucks! Which is totally crazy!

Wish there was a way we fans could suggest future facsimile books.

Facsimile on these key books are sweet! Especially buying them off the racks at shops, feels like being a kid again! Let's hope Marvel can do one on Captain America 1!

Oh yeah, some old Golden Age Timely would be nice. Or maybe a some of the old Daredevil books.

I love them. Actually gives me a reason to go back into comic shops. I’ve tried the current lines and have come to the conclusion that they are not for me. These reprints are for me.

I had bought a copy of Giant Size X-Men a bit ago and made me think back to long long ago when I had a real copy of it. Such a good memory.

They are selling a lot of the facsimiles so it's an easy money grab. it's also an indicator of disenfranchised many older readers are. From my perspective as an older collector, I think we are the ones buying most comics as there isn't much of a young audience. They are reading Manga. I've largely stopped buying new comics as don't like the stories, really don't like the politics, the cost and much of the art. I have a lot of old valuable keys and had to decide what I wanted to be; a reader, a collector or an investor. I like reading so omnibuses are wonderful for me and I plan to divest the 'investments' in due course. I would rather focus back on older books with my dollars, instead of just accruing more and more comics for the sake of it. I'm sure the big two realise the trend with older readers and nice facsimiles of classic books (great to display) are appealing to me. Clearly the profits from comics are insignificant enough that Marvel/DC are prepared to lose readers to push their political message and be seen to do so at board level. Also, many older keys are incredibly expensive and essentially slabbed art now. You can read these books in omnibus/trade form or hold a near identical copy in your hand and read it and display it. These are the only new comics I buy (plus the odd cover). BTW I would like an ASM #50 facsimile.

I agree with most of your points honestly. I would rather have a new facsimile copy of an older book to read so I don't have to worry about damaging them and with some of these books such as Giant Size X-Men 1 I haven't had in my collection for a long time and can't afford to get again. I would love to see some facsiles of Golden Age stuff besides Batman or Superman. I would love to read some of the old GL/Flash/JSA stuff from DC or Captain America and Submainer from Timely. I would not turn down an ASM #50 though.
