Been working on my compost pile at home as I attempt a food forestin the backyard in melb. I did import a delivery of coffee grounds and coffee husks which has helped me grow my piles into the required size. and my pile did stall recently but i added fresh material and it is back roaring. I check the temperature with my meat thermometer. I learnt alot from the book Teaming With Microbes
Nice to see some Australian homestead content, wishing you guys luck.

That’s awesome. Yeah we used to run a cafe. Coffee grinds are the bomb! A proper compost thermometer is on my Wishlist- I’ve used them before they’re worth the investment. Never thought to use my meat thermometer - dunno if I want to put my fancy Bluetooth one in there though 🤣. Thanks for the encouragement! Good luck with the food Forrest.

Great video! I make compost videos too so this will help my research on the topic. Love the commentary too. I love to work my compost pile as a slow process to accommodate being a parent but this will help me revitalize my methods. Thanks a ton.
Ps maybe increase the audio a bit.

Another banger vid! Question would it be possible to use Oaties letterbox contents ( recycled paper litter, poop and wee) in a compost pile? Would it be considered brown or green, both or neither don't use?

Ooh rabbit poop - perfect compost material. I’d call that 50/50. Actually maybe that’s a bit green, definitely balance it with some straw or leaf litter if you can. And be sure to keep lots of air in it so it doesn’t turn anaerobic
