Superb woodwork. What is it that makes these go for $1000 compared to some intricately designed hardwood models with exotic material inlays that are available for just a fraction of the cost?
Most likely how they feel to expert players and word of mouth it's obviously something that needs to be experienced to appreciate. Expert players won't care about inlays.
amazing craftsmanship, but honestly if i was anywhere near a semi-pro or pro player, and watched as the manufacturer hammered the cue tip like that, there's no way i'd be paying $1000. I'd be taking it straight to get re-tipped
I worked for a US company, doing inlays on their cues. Those looked like they were using cocobolo, a Brazilian hardwood. We made a lot of butts from it. Mostly we used Birds-eye and Tiger maple, and ebony. We made a cue for hustlers. It looked like a standard off-the-rack, one-piece, poolroom cue. It was really a custom made balanced and weighted two-piece cue.
If this is Asia, Japan...etc. The white wood could be: Isu, loquat and/or camellia. Isu being the hardest of the three. But in this day and age they could very well be importing Hard Maple and Ash from North America. The color woods, they have great variety to choose from.
No one forcing people to buy at this price. If they buy, there is a reason. Super expertise has a price. The law of supply and demand, if someone can craft this quality and sell at lower price, then he will gain market shares. But maybe no one can't, or want. In this part of the world.
Fun video to watch, But for 1,000 there is a lot of machine work and it's wood. If I'm going to spend 1k on a stick it will definitely be carbon fiber and not wood that can warp. It’s very important to keep you stick in a good environment. Cold weather can warp wood.
What you're not seeing is after every time you make a cut on the cue, it sits in a humid room for a month or two. This allows the stresses in the wood to relax so, the cue stays straight.
See this I can possibly justify why it would be a "$1000 billiard cue" because from what I saw I wondered why this was so expensive, was the wood something special? maybe some dark walnut slabs when they made the star pattern, but standard plastic collars, and all of that. Just didn't see the labor or materials cost.
@@Mike__BI do wood turning and there’s nothing special done by these men that given the same equipment I couldn’t do, and I’m legally blind. hand made
Interesting how these cue's are made. It is a stark contrast to how John Paris makes his. If anyone is interested, it's worth a look.
0:44 this guy got balls of steel
Beautiful work and beautiful cue!
The fact that he still has a finger amazes me
Its a beautiful process i love working with wood. Well done gentlemen.
Imagine making them without the machinery. It takes skill to a whole different level
Tremendous talent
So cool to see how these are made. There is so much work to making these than I thought. Some amazing craftsmanship done here.
Beautiful craftmanship and very artistic work !
There are better made and more elaborate cues that cost less.
Very difficult work, but well done and very elegant
Those cues are going to start cracking, warping, and falling apart in no time. There are gaps the size of the grand canyon in those points. Those shafts are going to warp in no time at all, he didn't take them down in enough passes to let the wood stabilize. These are budget cues, not $1000 cues.
It looked like the entire butt was made from 1 piece of wood. Normally a high end cue is 3 pieces, the forearm, handle, and butt cap.
1000 billiard must be a huge amount of money for just a cue.
it says "1000 dollars", not simply 1000
$1000 is low end in the custom market. There is much much more to this.
Bikin satu aja lama 😁 ,tp kerenn jadinya 👍👍👍
Cool but that is not a $1000 cue
+shipping and drugs
The fact this man still has 10 fingers left is testament to his amazing skill and ability!
I’m sure a $1,000 cue would have a screw in tip.
Only low priced cheaply made cues have screw in tips
@@poppajretired410 Why is that?
typically they are cheap material for starters. Secondly, they do not have the same playing consistency compared to high quality tips. @@c0ldc0ne
@@poppajretired410 Really so they expect someone to buy a new cue everytime the tip get worn out?
@@Josefsson9013 quality cues use glue on tips. Screw on types are mainly manufactured for the home market where the skill and time required to properly prepare the cue end and new tip for adhesive would be lacking.
Beautiful work 👍
Dude who makes billiard cue gets....$5.
RUclips ads are like a yippy dog outside your window at 4 in the morning. A constant annoyance.
