- The civil engineers behind some of London’s most iconic infrastructure projects have put on their dancing shoes to show the public - young people in particular - how happy they are to be engineers and the diverse and exciting careers on offer through choosing maths and science subjects at school. The film, commissioned by the Institution of Civil Engineers in association with Bechtel, showcases some of London’s world class infrastructure projects and the teams behind them including Crossrail, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Thames Barrier, London Underground, Walton Bridge, Kings Cross Station and the Hammersmith Flyover.

The feeling of the glorious sunny summer days on site (yes in the UK!) measuring rebar spacing or doing slump tests
Ok guys the 6 minutes of dancing are over; now back to differential calculus.
😂😂😂😂😂
It was such fun working as the Movement Director on this film. And dancing with the engineers at the launch was amazing!
Just brilliant...this is why I love being an Engineer.
Never take yourself too seriously, have fun and engage people on the topics that matter!
Just watched it together at the ICE GSNet Conference in London. Great to see how many happy engineers got involved with the project and the great locations they filmed at.
Well my 15 year old son just watched it from beginning to end and eventually said he might be an engineer. His twin sister watched it also and said she would too - if only she was better at maths. Good PR for engineering!
it's 2024 now, are both of them Engineers already? I'm very curious
This is excellent, the more things that show the joy in engineering the better!
Well done ICE London!Proud to be a member of the region.
Came here from the Open University T192 module (Introduction to Engineering) and I literally just finished it... they gave us this link to watch... and I was not expecting this! Haha
Motivation for all you engineers!
Brilliant! Happy to be an Engineer ....
When you put it like that no-one can say engineering is boring.
Cllr Stephen Stark
absolutly magic , have to keep playing it , cant get enough of it .......& every time you view it u see some other quirk !!!
Extremely joyful and feeling great after creating great marvels.
That was inspiring! Thank you for this great representation of Engineers! Tempted to explore how well the Engineers in Ontario can dance!
Der beste Weg um jungen Leuten den Ingenieur Beruf schmackhaft zu machen. Man macht sich selbst eine Freude und seinen Mitmenschen

Lovely make, As a Nepalese civil Engineer I am happy to see this.thank you.
This is what we call a team "building" activity!
Fantastic!!!!! It was only a matter of time.....
When soil mechanics class is cancelled.
Very good indeed and a right way to promote engineering. My only comment would be that it is a tad too long - I would prefer to have an explanation of what each works represents when the engineers are dancing. It would have even bigger impact because novices to engineering would see what it is all about. Ok for the initiated but not too clear for the general public.
I'm dancing to this cause I just passed my license professional engineer exam
Great to see HAPPY engineers..
Engineering is the future !
Nice to see a few family faces on the Crossrail Project.
Smart, innovative, refreshing... Well done
Awesome. I hope this goes viral.
If your engineering isn't happy, you're in the wrong job! But the old 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration still applies
This is my fav song and I am a engineer these days are going really drastic for me but I am trying my best ❤
Brilliant video :) I'm not too happy after the frustration of applying for jobs all over the UK and still nothing with a BEng in Civil eng and MSc in structural :(
The first time I liked a clip when people dance to the song 'Happy' of will Ferral
:)
Studying Software Engineering, currently on co-op, at the University of Waterloo in Canada! :)
Lovely. Proud feeling
amazing video by amazing civil engineers
lool funny seeing your uni lecturers dancing in this video randomly😂😂
Fantastic!!!!!
I wish you to be always happy!
Miranda well done - go girl! x
So cool!
Brilliant! I take my hat off to Sir John Armitt.
Glad the ICE are getting there with the engagement tools but, there's loads more to great UK engineering than rail and London! Good effort though.
WOW!!! I LOVE it!!!
Awesome!!
Terrific video. And informative too. You did miss out THFC but perhaps next time...
this is wonderful - I want to be an engineer!
Could someone tell what is the second music?
Brilliant. Unlike the original, everyone really did look happy!
Terrific, well done everyone!
Good work!
Love it!!
I work at the Emirates Air Line London's cable car, we have visitors from various walks of life who are curious to look at the structure ( apart from the obvious trip across the river) we recently took part in the Open House London 2014 with enormous success and receiving great feedback from the participants; architecture & engineering are fascinating subjects no reason they can't be fun too.
Great dancing ;)
Reminds me of my first job as a building site engineer! Great fun.
I love to be an engineer!!! :)
I wish if I could dance with the Engineers. Incredible though.
Simply brilliant.
Professor Hadi led me here!
Dang, civil engineers in London are good looking...
I came here googling TF2 jokes but this is really good
What is the music during the credit part?
Hi the track is 'Aim High' by Jason Pedder and Tim Reily
Thanks! Very good music.
Love it :)
most of the people at the backround at 1.15 are in my school and the man is my teacher lol
very nice.
OMG...I love this! I couldn't stop laughing all the way through. I wish I was part of it. Go...Go...Engineering!!!!
Professional Engineer is wrong. IKB was an innovator and would have exploited any route to market that was available. He'd have loved it.
No Computer or Software Engineers shown? This just fuels the stereotype that ALL Engineers wear orange vests and white helmets! -.-
nice one i liked it :)
Great
See, ,my Dad is a Civil Engineer but he really can't dance as well as these people. Is he really an engineer? :P
Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn that black girl at1.20 is stunning wooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooooooo
ya dumayu chto BECHTEL luchshaya kompaniya v mire
Not all those dancing are civil engineers I suggest, and I think I was mislead by the note. Do all civil engineers live in London ? "Happy" is a great tune but hardly original for these sorts of films. Hopefully young people watching don't click off when Pharrell Williams has done his bit. Not sure I saw a diversity of careers - ah yes, now I remember the Librarian ! For example, do I have to guess that all these projects require investigation, assessment and designs to take account of soil and rock conditions which some might say is the most exciting part ? Is this really the film I am meant to take into schools to enthuse others to enter civil engineering ?
Peter Whyley
Watch it without the sound and then give a view. Much happier with Pharrell than without.
Peter Whyley if the industry is full of people with your moaning point of view in the face of an upbeat video, I'd certainly think twice about being a part of it.

STEEVE
Engineering cringe-worthiness more like!
