The schooling is tough but the career should be very rewarding. I really respect Maddie, the woman engineer. Engineering is challenging, probably tougher for woman (more in other specialties and slightly more in 2nd and 4th year but there is less than 10% female engineers at my college in my year of civil engineering) just because not very many woman study it (especially white ones). I mean no disrespect to her or female engineers in general by commenting that, in addition to intelligence and seeing value in helping others, she is very pretty. If her personality is compatible with mine she's pretty much my dream girl.
Thank you youtube! It motivates me to pursue my dreams :) I hope someday I'll become successful engineer :) Anyways, does the bad eyesight (blurd) affects in taking up in college in engineer?
Still trying to find out why civil engineers can't find way to use pipelines to help remove water from flooded areas. I understand the volume is tremendous but with the new miracle materials ,light weight and very strong and flexible. surely a couple of thousand of them would help.I wonder about this when I watch forests out west burn for weeks. Why can't water be transferred across country in pipes. Would really appreciate an answer.
I live in Toronto and I'm deciding to go to George Brown college as I was accepted for civil engineering technology (3 year program - advanced diploma). I'm kinda confused cause universities also offer civil engineering so is that supposed to mean that a university degree will look better, therefore better jobs & higher pay? gbc is a college that mainly focuses on the hands-on aspect so I'm hoping it's equally as good as a university degree but I wanna be more informed before I jump into this. Any thoughts?
I graduated with a Civil Engineering Technology (CET) degree from Kennesaw State University, which I'm assuming has a similar curriculum as the CET program from George Brown. I am now fully licensed as a professional engineer just like my Civil Engineering grad counterparts. But there are downsides to a CET degree versus a full CE degree. Some states in the US like to impose more restrictions on CET grads than on CE grads. For instance, the state of Georgia requires CET grads to wait 7 years until they are eligible to take the PE exam, whereas CE grads only have to wait 4 years. Some states don't even recognize CET degrees when taking the PE exam, such as the state of Alabama. If you are planning on getting licensed as a professional engineer, then I would go with a CE degree. A CE degree is a safe bet since it is recognized everywhere and will future-proof you better than a CET degree will. But if licensure is not a career goal for you then a CET degree might suffice. That is just a very basic overview of the situation. I'm not sure how it is in Canada. Do more research into it to find out the details.
Depends where you live, here in QLD if you took maths A (the easiest) you probably wouldn't even be considered to get into civil engineering, however you should probably take maths B and C (harder ones) if you lived where i did, so I have no idea whether maths a is good or not..
from what i have seen, an intelligent articulate person who conveys a knowledge of their profession that has tattoos will be hired before a well dressed person
If you're comparing apples to apples (as in two job candidates with identical resumes and skill sets) with the only differentiator being one candidate has lots of visible tatoos and the other doesn't, then I would say that the tatooed candidate is at a disadvantage. That is a generalization though and it depends on the interviewer and company. It has been my experience that visible tatoos are still seen as unprofessional, especially if you are put in a front-end client relations position. But of course you can just cover them up and problem solved.

I am Mexican and I really would like to be a civil engineer and live in USA. Because in this country I feel I won’t have the opportunity that I can have there 😕
Looks like i found interest again in civil engineering and when i was watching the video seeing the American cities skyscrapers the clean and green environment there is just why shouldn't we make our india like that why shouldn't I be the part of the change that is actually happening in India. There is alot of talented Indian engineers working day and night to make us proud i wanted to be one of them
The work is more evident now that the for-profit economy has taken a serious downturn, this May 12 2020, but there are still numerous civil projects waiting to be worked on in this republic and the world from adjusting, planting, tilling, hoeing, to zipping. Let the governments know that the rise of the business community rests squarely on the better action to hire the jobless and poor and others with knowledge, skills and abilities to work on the infrastructure.

Yes we need to support Women In Engineering and pro tip Doug, this is not the way to pickup girls!!!
nice compliment, i thank you for the comment
LOL, this is going on r/niceguys
Engineering is not tougher for women wtf?
LOL this was a backhanded ass compliment to women
Doug Patterson, why would it be more challenging for women?
I want to be a civil engineer in the future
@Syed Shuvo dumbass, they are the clients.
Am studying it and thank you for the motivation
😓I love Civil engineering with all my heart, but I'm lost now it's too late to turn back
phillip nesta it’s never to late to do what u want
Never give up,be strong
Never give up,be strong
I needed this, thanks ASCE .
Thank you youtube! It motivates me to pursue my dreams :) I hope someday I'll become successful engineer :)
Anyways, does the bad eyesight (blurd) affects in taking up in college in engineer?
I Love you
Still trying to find out why civil engineers can't find way to use pipelines to help remove water from flooded areas. I understand the volume is tremendous but with the new miracle materials ,light weight and very strong and flexible. surely a couple of thousand of them would help.I wonder about this when I watch forests out west burn for weeks. Why can't water be transferred across country in pipes. Would really appreciate an answer.
Can someone say which civil engineering project is better for final year engineering
Really good video. A motivation for students
Future civil engineer here😁😁
I live in Toronto and I'm deciding to go to George Brown college as I
was accepted for civil engineering technology (3 year program - advanced
diploma). I'm kinda confused cause universities also offer civil
engineering so is that supposed to mean that a university degree will
look better, therefore better jobs & higher pay? gbc is a college
that mainly focuses on the hands-on aspect so I'm hoping it's equally as
good as a university degree but I wanna be more informed before I jump
into this.

THIS IS MY DREAM AND I WILL ACHIEVE IT NO MATTER WHAT
If I study physics engineering and two others but not maths at a-level will any universities take me?
nope
Depends where you live, here in QLD if you took maths A (the easiest) you probably wouldn't even be considered to get into civil engineering, however you should probably take maths B and C (harder ones) if you lived where i did, so I have no idea whether maths a is good or not..
Probably. Physics has lots of calc so physics = advanced math. Depending on the school, the admission requirements will vary greatly :)
I'm studying to become in an civil engineer as well, will tattoos hurt my chance of employment?
Ok
i see you michael scofield
from what i have seen, an intelligent articulate person who conveys a knowledge of their profession that has tattoos will be hired before a well dressed person
Ok
Hi. Im a filipino. I really wanted to be a civil engineer but im a bit scared because i dont have basic knowledge in civil engineering. I did not take STEM as my course in senior high. But i really really really wanted to be an engineer
Mahihirapan ka lang po kung kukuha ka ng course na hindi under sa track na kinuha mo nung senior high. Imbes na mabawasan baka madagdagan pa lalo yung panahon na gugugulin mo.
great......................................................
They treat each other with respect!

Do they build buildings
I haven't score the good marks in physics at class 12...but I wanted to to read civil engineering
will it be good for me or not
Still can be, hows your math / science beyong physics? what about problem solving and do you like to build / take stuff apart / tinker?
I am Mexican and I really would like to be a civil engineer and live in USA. Because in this country I feel I won’t have the opportunity that I can have there 😕
i watch this because im planning to be civil engineer
Good see your video james keep it up.
Excellent!!!
Civil Engineering is most on physical planning for the future.
I'm a sophomore in high school, this is my dream job!
iam bcom graduated but no job wat should I do join army or do some other job
I have a degree in accounting, can I still be a civil engineer?
No
It's possible, but you would have to go back to school and have a passion for it.
Lmfao
This has been my dream for a very long time now
