Mangudai are the CORE of the Mongols and how they should be played. Constant harassing, raiding and not letting your opponent out on the map denying resources because of it. Great buff for the Mongols!!! Awesome vid Beasty!
23:30 It gives 0.75 range. The UI will show 0.8 because it can't handle hundreds aka second digit after the decimal point. So it rounds up to 0.8 range. If you hover over the offensive stats of the units it will show the not rounded up value cause that UI is programmed to be a bit more precise.
As a gold player, I think playing mongols for real, not towering rush or pushing early all in, is a incredible good way to learn how to get map control, how to properly defend your base,l and traders, and it will make you dar better with any other civ. Could get a little bit harder on the begining, for multi tasking, but it changes the whole game after it
Very elaborate guide on Mongols and Mangudai. Thanks for this! I was having trouble with figuring out the market and amount of traders, especially when the opponent would go to Age3, like Japanese or HRE, but this makes it more clear. I'd go heavy mangudai and Keshik but always fell behind because of bad market routes.
there is a historical evidence of arcehery competion record during mongol empire that archer named Esunge hit a target at about 510 meters, and mongol archer stopping watchman during his attempt to alert the city on incoming Mongol troops at a St. Mary's Church in Kraków, meaning Mongol archery was not just arrow barrage they were snipers and their main training method was hunting. while english long bow record if im not wrong is set around 400 something meters few years ago.
It will be a pain. But my guess is basically to go spearmen archer with walls walls walls. When you are safe you can push his trade with some rams and end the game. Or maybe fc into mangonels and spears and slowly push out?
Correct. And keep in mind that the faster you can produce the traders, the sooner they'll turn a profit, and the sooner that profit can snowball into a lead.
@@newvan87 I can't say for sure as I'm not an expert myself (I'm gold). I believe Beasty mentioned 50-70 in this vid, but don't know the timestamp. And I'm guessing the number would be slightly lower for most civs since Mongols can get all resources from trade when they have enough traders, but most other civs only get gold. Although some other civs can also get food or wood.
a lot of the time i watch your videos i hear this bumping noise and always at first i think its my upstairs neighbor but its actually a banging from ur mic feed. just realized its when ur arm hits desk
dont go knight, too expensive and slow. Try Horseman who can catch mangudai and have same range armor, less expensive. Walls, push all in feodal. Mangudai are not so useful in direct confrontation.
@@Konttur1 Only if they are not in range of towers. In the open with no buffs, horseman counter mangudai. When in range of yam network, they get 15% speed buff.
yup constant harassment from light cavalry /who are all archers/ when enemy is in disarray then the heavy cavalry will rush and finish. the kheshig /kheshigten to be accurate/ are the bodyguard or in more familiar word royalguard or something similar to Napoleons immortal division the old guards. they have heavy armors better close range weapons and ofcuz every single Mongol soldier carries a bow and arrow that is just natural. so even the heaviest of the armored soldiers will still have bow and arrow
I can’t wait most people to realize how frustrating it is to play against mangudais. Towers are useless, archers need to be everywhere. fortunely for my sanity, I quit with the 2 TC meta and half of civ that ignore food on map because their farms are broken/free
Worst meta on earth is back again w the obnoxious gameplay the do nothing win always method where all you do Is run around , total skill expression, seems like some of the playerbase will take off time from age
I found mongols really good on wetlands map, since there is lack of sheep and other food resources are lacking also, just small pockets of food everywhere scattered, that's where mongols come in and make sheep farms, so you only wonder around the map for gold, but even then, that's only after 18min+ mark. by then you should have such a big lead that it doesn't actually matter much. I belive mongols are really situational civ that doesn't do good when one tricked by non godly players.

I always use mangudai even with English 😂 just have to be fast in build order.
You'll never be truly playing Mongol if you're not throat singing while you play.

glad to see the Mongols shine again, they deserve it.

I love those. I missed the mangudai.

I fun team comp would be Mongols and Rus.
Build sheep farms for them. Inf gold.
How do you handle camel civs as Mongol?
Mongols always tricky to use on the Xbox but doesn't hurt to keep trying. This is good news though.. shot Beasty 👍🏽
I main Mongols and play solely on Xbox…..I play great with them 👍🏻
How do you okay in Xbox?? With a controller??
...so how can we defend from the mangudai & khan hunters?
Spearmen archer
or simply mass archers if there is no keshiks

Wat's a point of 2 markets? Just faster merchant build speed?

Khan's Hunters DO give the buff to allied units too. Longbows with 8 range are a sight to behold!
Mongols are BACK IN THA GAME !🎉
nice, more like these please.
I feel you need so much apm to play this strategy well
Please make a video how to counter Mongols
Pls make a civ tier list 🎉🎉🎉

"You want to go up to 50 to 70 traders" hot damn!
Thanks!
so when i play china, i wololo khan hunter and when i stay with my handcanons on the stone wall then i do have basically bombards?
mongol is so hard i just deranked from diamond 3 to plat trying this
Khan hunters do give range bonus to friendly units
Okay I understand pushing the castle age land mark for the healing but can someone explain why he also pushed the deer stones?
