"Embarrassing!" Newsreader Martine Croxall Brings Legal Action To BBC

- TalkTV's Mike Graham reacts to newsreader Martine Croxall bringing legal action against the BBC next month.
The broadcaster is listed for an employment tribunal against the corporation beginning on May 1, according to official document, with the details of Croxall’s claim being not known.
The tribunal comes in the wake of the high-profile gender pay dispute between the BBC and Newswatch presenter Samira Ahmed.
In 2020 a London employment tribunal found that Ahmed should have been paid the same as fellow presenter Jeremy Vine for their work on Newswatch and Points Of View respectively.
Mike says: "She made a complete fool of herself."

You must have got a smart meter installed, that's why you have got massive bills. These power companies NEVER tell the truth, they are all in it for themselves.
I've got PAYG , it works very reasonably for me, I would never go back to bills either monthly or quarterly.

Are you talking about electricity? How does that work only if you have a key meter there is a standing charge, unless there is another way I'm not aware of.
@@normandunford5747 How you pay is irrelevant. Your energy company can increase your price whether you're on a smart meter or not. Your PAYG doesn't exempt you from a price increase in between top ups.

The difference is no other t.v. station blackmails the population with the law, it should not have a monopoly over all live broadcasts, it needs to lose the licence.
Agreed the licence fee is well past its sell by date. It was a good idea at the outset when you could only watch television programmes, made by the BBC, and broadcast onto your TV set. But the trouble is, an immediate defunding by scrapping the TV licence will trigger an immediate emergency funding of the BBC from central government tax revenue. Then we will all pay, and the gravy train continues forever with a chosen few living in luxury at our expense. Much better the slow demise we see now. Keep exposing their hypocrisy, weaknesses, lack of impartiality etc. and let the steady trickle of licence fee cancellations continue until they spiral down to zero.

I think its across media in general, whether its general policy or if folks with that prediliction tend to gravitate to the sector is hard to tell? Maybe a bit of both?
Certainly over represented across public life and especially politics. Then they get themselves and the country into all sorts of bother. We need more family-centric and pro-family people with views that represent the majority in the UK.

Gave up on the BBC and Radio about 8 years ago to my great disappointment, I’m old enough to remember sitting by the transistor radio listening intently when Radio one was launched… I feel totally alienated from the BBC due to my age and gender a 62 year old white male

It’s irritating to have the political opinions foisted upon us of what are supposed to be impartial presenters. This is something the left tend to do more than the right. You know, I am pretty concervative and leaving climate change aside, why is it so bad to do things that are environmentally friendly? It doesn't matter if it is net zero. Your don't have to be the savior to do something good. If you believe in God, man was made to have dominion over things that means taking care of what you have. So, whether you believe the government should oversee or insist on everything or not, people should at least be encouraged to do what is right. Recycling doesn't hurt. Not being wasteful like our grandparents and greatgrandparents, encourage companies to develope things that are energy efficient. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Don't stop doing what is right just because you are pissed at the government. In the end, that sort of petulent behavior only hurts all of us and our children.
Why can’t all these cop climate change meetings be done on line instead of flying all over the world on expense acounts and do they really have to take their wives and girlfriends with them all at our expense

The BBC is the only company ever set-up to spend money. The only company allowed to investigate itself AND be judge, jury & executioner. Impartially is non-existent now-a-days. Any profit it makes from BBC America is never given back to license fee payers to reduce the fee. The many 'repeat' programmes means we're paying this year to watch programmes paid for with previous license fees. IMHO It's had a really good run, 100+ years, but it's time to relieve the burden of paying for it from the public and it should be forced to go commercial/subscription. It's too bloated, too left-wing, too unaccountable, too woke, too anti-British.

I don't see how she has a case. What she did is everything that people accuse the BBC of which is showing clear bias rather than remaining objective as providers of news. Frankly the real question is whether she should still have a job now she has revealed her lack of objectivity and personal political bias. At the very least she has damaged the reputation of the BBC further as a news organisation. She is not being paid as an opinion host, she is being paid as a news reader.
