Whatever you do, you cannot escape your destiny. This IS so well performed by both artist,, beautiful Anna Netrebko and charming Villason. They are a perfect match. The choreography IS lifelike. In my opinion the Best Traviatta ever.

He perdido la cuenta de las veces que he visto está hermosa ópera, la interpretación es extraordinaria, no deja de conmoverme y de generar emociones que no puedo explicar, sencillamente es una genialidad.
Fabulosa escenografía aderezada por el símbolo y los personajes que abarcan el origen y la modernización de esta ópera que fue un fracaso al comienzo ,hoy ha sido transformada con su mensaje en algo obligatorio de ver sin ningún hastío de lo maravillosa e impecable de su representación en todos los aspectos sin la necesidad de coreografías y diseños clásicos ... desde La Dama de Las Camelias pasando por la Viuda Alegre también.
Esta Traviata, a mi juicio, es la versión mas perfecta y sublime que dio el siglo pasado de esta opera de Verdi. Seguramente en 100 o 200 años mas, se estudiará como una representación exacta de lo que fue el arte de nuestra época.

Dazu wurde auf einem 16-Kanaltonband in tagelanger Arbeit Musik und Gesang für ein Playback zusammengestückelt. Die Kosten dafür betrugen damals knapp 500.000 D-Mark. Diese Konserve wurde dann am Tag der Aufführung vor Publikum abgespielt , die Interpreten mimten dazu stumm vor den Kameras. Vor diesem Hintergrund weiß ich den Lifeauftritt des gesamten Ensembles einer Oper ganz, ganz hoch zu schätzen. Bravo! Eine exzellente Leistung.

When was this performed, am so sure it‘s not 2015, perhaps 2005…because both Violette n Alfredo look so young…if I remember correctly Villazon lost his voice already in 2015.

This is an absolutely wonderful production. But I will not say that it is the best, but just one among many stellar performances. Thus Netrebko is not better than, say, Cotrubas or Callas, just different. And that is how it is with all great art.

Вся атмосфера спектакля передавала атмосферу театра эпохи Верди. А здесь... Какой-то предбанник или станция метро. Я сразу вспомнила провинциальный театр в Советском Союзе эпохи 70-х годов 20-го века. Жаль...

In my opinion: for me the best perfomance was last year at Staatstheater Saarbrücken. Standing ovations for approximately 10 minutes. I've never seen a better perfomance.

I have heard many better Violettas....but this production and the acting are so so so much better than anything else I have seen. So believable!
