  • 😍 Rasa is a charming village in the Swiss Alps that lies on a sunny plateau at 900 metres above sea level. It is surrounded by green meadows and dense forests, creating a fairy-tale scenery. The village centre is well-preserved and romantic, with stone houses and flower gardens around the church. Rasa is a car-free village; the only ways to reach it are by walking along scenic trails or by taking a cable car from Verdasio.

Rasa is a place where you can experience the magic of nature and the tranquillity of the mountains. The air is filled with the aromas of flowers and trees, and the sounds of birds and streams. You can feel like you have travelled back in time, as Rasa is the last village in Ticino that has no road access. Until 1958, when the cable car was built, it was isolated from the rest of the world. You can enjoy a picnic in one of the many spots that offer stunning views of the peaks, or visit a grotto for a traditional meal and a refreshing drink.
Rasa is also home to a Swing the World swing, a project that aims to install swings in beautiful locations around the world. You can swing on it and feel like you are flying over the valley.
Rasa is a great base for exploring the Centovalli, a valley that offers many hiking opportunities for all levels of difficulty. You can discover the natural and cultural treasures of this region, such as waterfalls, bridges, vineyards, churches and museums. Rasa is a hidden gem in the Swiss Alps that will enchant you with its beauty and charm.
    How to get to Rasa:
To get to Rasa, you need to take a cable car from Verdasio, a small village that is 3 hours away from Zürich by car or train. You can park your car at 6655 Intragna, near the cable car station, or take a train to Verdasio with a few changes. The cable car runs every 20 minutes from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 14:20 to 18:00 (from March 1 to November 15). It costs 12 CHF for a return ticket and 8 CHF for a single ticket. You can also walk to Rasa if you prefer.
🚶To walk to Rasa, go to Palagnedra Bordei, a village near a hotel and restaurant called Osteria Bordei Sagl. Park your car there or nearby and follow the trail to Rasa. It is 1.7 km long and climbs 250 metres. It is easy but bring water in summer. You will pass by Terra Vecchia, a small settlement with old houses. You will reach Rasa in 30-40 minutes and enjoy its beauty.

It's so beaitiful. Great nature and peaceful. Its like a paradise really. I am always asking myself, how people are making a living in such places? Is it just more like vacation place or mainly with retired people? Just curious. Its all looking great anyway. Thank you for the video

Thanks for visiting! Rasa is a car free village with no road access, however it is not just a vacation place or a place where retired people live. We met couple of families with kids who use the cable car daily to go to school and other stuff.

@@walknexplore Sounds intetesting. No cars. I can imagine the quality of the air then and how peaceful it is. However,I guess people are having quite different life there from the daily life that most of us are having. Very nice that you are showing us those beautiful places. And great for you, experiencing it. So thank you again and happy travel to the next exciting and pretty location. :)
