Hey everyone! ***Please do not buy the Eye Shadow Pans! They may not be rust resistant, causing rust to get in your paints! A dear friend let me know the pans from Art Tool kit are stainless steel, to prevent rust. I had never thought of that happening, I'm sorry! 💗
Can you use a rust repellent primer? And just prime the palettes?
@ArtWithKatt You may be able to seal it, I'm not sure. I've received tips about putting clear nail polish on metal tabs in palettes that made a few of my paints get rust. But, I won't chance it with the eye shadow pans myself. It's not worth throwing paint out to me.

Aw, thank you!!! I think many in the art community don't like me, because I mostly share haul videos. My other videos don't do very well, so they seem like a waste of my time. I really appreciate your comment, and it makes me want to keep sharing. 💗
I think, in that Schminke ceramic insert palette, that I would use the 6 additional wells to pour paint in there from other Schminke tubes and add to the collection. That would be really fun! Great haul and Happy New Year! That's such a cute easel from Meeden!

What an awesome haul! Definitely want to know how that easel holds up for you and looking forward to seeing everything in action. Have been dying to get the Shinhan B set as a gift for a loved one. I'm on such a tight budget though and I also have to get them the rest of the supplies to go with. I would really appreciate it if you could share more specifics on what discounted price you managed to get. I checked camelcamelcamel but they say all of the shinhan sets are at an all time low price right now, set A is $65 and B is $72, which is not on sale. Does that sound like the same price? I can wait if the price will drop significantly in the future. I appreciate your time. Also, I have decided to get the Nicpro stay wet palette with it. Hoping that's going to work for her. I really think she'll like working with them from everything other artists have said.
It's absolutely fine and completely understandable that you want to try all of the colors. The fact that you get so much joy from getting the new colors and trying them is valid reason enough, period (as long as you can afford to within reason). But on top of it, you actually use them and not only get joy from creating with them, the sound of your voice made it very obvious that you also get a lot of joy and inspiration out of having lots of curated palettes... which, of course, you need a lot of different paints for. And then on top of it all, you make gifts of them for others. Enjoy and don't feel bad about a thing! 😊

Thank you so much! It is so much fun to try new things. I purchased the sets during Black Friday, so the price was much lower on Amazon. I used to not have any money to shop with, so I understand completely. Maybe just try to use a wish list, and keep saving. I usually keep my wish list in my cart, saved for later. Then check occasionally for a great price decrease, and check multiple websites.
Prices are always changing. Many times you can find better prices in the country items are from. $65 and $72 is the price now, but in a few months it may go up, or go down...you just never know. If I was on a fixed income, I would just get the primary colors and mix to make all the pretty colors. Everything thing else is really just for fun, and not necessary.

I also always kept getting the colors mixed into the other colors. Lol I'm sorry to hear your got mold. I hope it wasn't expensive gouache. Thanks for the warning, for others as well. 💗
Wow Stephanie, what a wonderful selection of gifts from Meeden! Meeden chose the perfect recipient to receive that Motherlode of gifts, you will definitely put their products to the test and use them. That's a bummer about some of the damaged colored cotton rag sheets. Schmincke should make you their PR POC because of how much of their products you've bought and use. Oh... i now read what you wrote about the rust problem... but there exist magnetic pans for watercolour too! I hope they are not too expensive! And then you are able to put them in a magnetic eye shadow palette! 😅
My ,,problem" is, I got the 84 holbein gouache set for christmas- but I couldnt find a palette that is big enough to hold 84 paints!

Oh thank you! Yes, I was so excited but luckily an art friend warned me. I would have hated to waste my paints. Yes, stick with the Art Tool kit to be safe for magnetic palette and stainless steel pans.
OH, how exciting for you!!! That's amazing, I'm so happy for you! You could just use a pretty wooden box, or maybe a colored pencil tin? I would check out Sarah Burns, she has worked with dry gouache. I haven't used gouache dry enough to be helpful yet. I've been too scared of wasting it to try, but I will be doing that this year. Please keep me posted what works for you! 💗

Shame Jackson's have changed recently -I don't use them as much too. Their p&p are not as great it was. I use clove oil with my gouache now to avoid mould - just wanted to tell you. Happy New years from cold and grey England! X

I thought it was just me who thought Jackson’s is not as good for finding deals anymore. I had a look at their website for Black Friday sales and nothing stood out to me. It was good before the US-UK division split. Schmincke has one palette that interests me, the 18 half pan super granulating palette. I saw it online on a UK based art supply store that doesn’t do overseas shipping. It’s £95 (no idea in US dollars). I’m not sure if it’s a good deal but I refuse to pay anything like that price. Due to me already having plenty of art supplies (well plenty for me) I would rather not have it at all unless the price is reduced some more and I can get it shipped to the US or buy in the US. Also, I get a kick out of finding good deals! 😅

It's been my Black Friday tradition since 2018. I agree, and now the prices seem the same as Blick. Oh, I was tempted with that palette too. I made my own granulating palette though, so I find I mostly reach for the greens mixes. Yes, that how I shop as well. I put items on my wishlist and don't check out until it is half price or more. I just need the Schmincke Limited Edition 2024 set, and the Holbein granulating watercolors. Other than that, I think I'm all set. Whew, finally!!! LOL. 💗
@ I’m not sure if I’ll ever be set with buying art supplies. Though currently I am finding it very liberating that I’m not fixating on anything. I would like to have the Schmincke 18 half pan super granulating palette but I’m not obsessing over it. ❤️

Yes, it is!! I did see on IG that Holbein has new glittery watercolors that I may need to try. So, maybe I haven't completely recovered! Lol
Love the wee eyeshadow pans. I found some that are 26mm square by 5mm. These are almost the same size as the Art Tool Kit medium pans (26mm square by 3mm). I measured the actual pans and the folio. The folio is 5.2mm in height so the eyeshadow pans should fit. If not, I have another metal pan which will hold 32 medium pans (and leave room for a couple small brushes).
Thank you! Just please be careful. I just had a dear friend let me know if the pans are not rust resistant, they can make your paints get rust on them. The pans from Art Tool kit are made from stainless steel to prevent that from happening. I'm so glad she let me know, so I could leave a note to try to let everyone know! I had no idea that could happen, and I don't want your paints to go bad. That also explains why I had some pans from White nights and Roman Szmal get rust on them. Apparently lower quality metals can do that, sadly. 💗
