Sound came back after a minute or 2! Such an inspirational interview, thanks so much to Katy and Raelan. I felt that recovery is up to us as individuals and working out “what actually works”! No point in expecting any kind of help or support from the medical profession. Had no help whatsoever in about 30 years. It’s up to us! We have to build resilience and do our own evaluation on our recovery journey. Thankfully, it sounds like the people are doing exactly that! Hurrah! Keep going everyone as it is/can be tough. We have to support each other. 💜
Oh glad you stuck with it through that small blip! Uggh technology!! Not sure what happened there. I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed it 😁 And thanks for sharing a bit of your journey and for spreading so much encouragement, Linda!!
Hi all! I'm not sure what happened but the sound cuts out for 50 seconds at 16:21 (it's back by 17:10). "Become obsessed with your recovery. Become the project manager for your recovery". I love that statement because from my experience there's been a lot of denial and ignoring this elusive "thing" called CFS. From myself and everyone around me. Raelan, since you've asked for feedback I'd like to see a video on combating denial. It's been a big stumbling block for me. Thanks either way!
You ladies are awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your story Katy. Very helpful information and I am so glad to learn of Lions Mane which I plan to research further. These recovery stories are SO encouraging (which I need a lot of right now.) THANKS Raelan!!
Love this interview so much thank you Raelan and Katy. Katy your enthusiasm and energy is just so inspiring and can't wait for that book Probiotics & Beyonce lol awesome :) xx
I'm currently experiencing these wide range of symptoms from a relapse 4 days ago caused by non other than a spectacularly delicious massage! A bit sad, given that it's probably my main treat as I recover from this illness. But I have to say, my mental state during this relapse is completely different than that of years ago. A lot more able to keep up the good spirits in spite of the weakness and symptoms. Loved this interview, and the spreading of hope and knowledge. Amazing also to see how similar the solutions are for other people to the ones I found, having deciphered what's good for me mostly on my own, not knowing other people were sharing their experiences. Thank you both very much.
Hey Alonso! Uggh not fair to have a symptom flare from a massage, sorry to hear that. They are one of my favorite things too! So glad you enjoyed this chat though and I find something quite similar myself as well - that so many others are out there having similar recovery experiences to the one I put together on my own. It's like we're all out here reinventing the wheal 😅 Wishing you the best for the remainder of your recovery journey!
Well I'm finally feeling back to normal again after 14 weeks of a hellish relapse being caused by no rhyme nor reason. Nothing out of the ordinary to trigger it and nothing I try special to make it go away any quicker. At first you think you are hit with it hard again and it's hard to imagine you will recover again, but I faithfully tell myself that I recovered before and I shall recover again, which I have, and the relapses always seem to last about 3 or 4 months. And to think I'm starting a new career as health insurance agent. At least CFS/ME is recognized as a legitimate condition by the medical establishment unlike how it used to be. And now serious Covid-19 sufferers can get a taste of what we go through for long periods of time.
Raelan, did you have issues with blood sugar dysregulation? I tried to eat a limited plant based diet for a while but I actually became quite worse off during that period, I think because I wasn't getting adequate calories (and I also noticed that when my blood sugar dipped below 90 mg/dl I would feel sick). I seem to recall you saying that you fasted at various points in your recovery which would seem to suggest that blood sugar imbalance was not an issue for you. Hope you keep the videos coming :)
Hey Sam! Perhaps plant-based isn't for you then? We all seem quite individual when it comes to diet. I have been diagnosed with hypoglycemia and actually struggle with my blood sugar a fair bit and have to be careful with what I eat in order to manage it. I manage intermittent fasting fine and I do low glycemic juice fasts fine also. But if I were to try doing it with sugary juice then I would be a mess! Glad you're enjoying the videos because yes I have many more coming. Best of luck sorting all this diet stuff out 😊
Ah I am really interested about the Lion's mane(?) and in the UK as well. Katie, do you have a trusted supplier? Thanks for sharing your story! You really do not look 43 😳 x x
Hi Jenna, Lions mane really was the start of my recovery journey, I keep saying to the friend that sent me it how much it changed my life and I really don’t think he takes enough credit for it! I use Time Health Lions Mane but I would just check other brands to make sure that there’s no fillers etc. Lions mane is a cool looking mushroom too - google pictures of it! 🦁 haha thanks, sometimes I feel about a hundred years old and then look in the mirror and wonder how! Thank you for watching and do Instagram me if you have other questions! Good luck with the lions mane ❤️
@@katygettingwell thank you! I have had 2 doses now and I agree, what a cool mushroom! The capsules I got seem good filler wise. Looking forward to seeing if it helps and thank you again for sharing your tips x x
I really hope they work, set a calendar reminder to check in with yourself to see if you’ve noticed any difference. Wishing you so much success with them. Let me know how you get on! X
Hi I loved this video, I am really interested to try the Lion's Mane that Katy mentioned - I cannot find a way to contact her directly but would be grateful if you are still in touch, could you possibly ask her for the details of that product and dose used? Many thanks.

Supporting each other and reminding each other to keep believing when things are tough is incredibly important 💛

Everyone is different in their symptoms and manifestations of the illness.

Lost sound 16 minutes in, shame, was really good up until then.
Apologies, I'm not sure what happened there! It only cuts out for 50 seconds though and then returns ☺️
She warned you ahead of time in her comment.
