Kevin, I've been praying for you and asking how to answer you. I want to be slow to speak as He has taught us. Yes life down here in this broken place is hard. Feels unbearable at times. But know this: He did not suffer and die, going through the worst torment for us to turn our backs on Him the moment things get tough. He didn't tell us it would be easy, but His promise is that it will be WORTH IT. and that He will be with us! Never leaving or forsaking us- through it all. He gave everything for us. Can't we bear our own crosses and wait patiently for Him? Is what He did so small? Has any of us suffered even remotely as bad as the apostles did who spread the gospel and were tortured for their testimony? This present life is a small blink compared to eternity and if we could glimpse that, at all (yes I have, in fact) then we would know that it's all more than worth it and like giving one penny to gain a fortune. Friend, I'm not belittling your pain. Not a bit. But do you not see that eternity with Jesus in glory is worth it? No matter what we suffer or lose in this present age? It is a fleeting moment. Meant to test the genuineness of our faith. Will you cave so easily? Will you give up just before the end of the race? Will you leave just before the rewards are handed out?
I pray you never do. We must learn the lesson from job, who is with the Lord, fully restored everything he lost and much more. He never cursed the Lord nor denied His faith.
Friend, it's worth it. HES WORTH IT.
