Explanation for the first fight: Our friend Likemybutton here suffers from narcolepsy, a condition he treats by leaving a few pins point-up on his desk. Whenever he falls asleep at the keyboard, he gets woken up after hitting them. The trouble is, the blood makes it a bit hard for him to see the screen until he wipes it away, so he's playing half-blind with one hand. It's a tough world out there.
And this is the difference between a reasonable player and people who get roasted in IODIS - when a resonable player loses, he starts to seek problems in his own playstyle. When a player with inflated ego loses, he immediately blames literally everything around him except himself. So we probably won't see Harstem doing IODIS on himself, or any of his pro-gamer friends sending something like this in (unless for a joke). Sometimes, imbalance actually does creep into the game with a new patch. However, vast majority of people who believe themselves to be experienced and knowledgeable enough to talk about balance are actually nowhere near competent enough for that.

@@cestlezooicimw He does analyze the opponent, he goes over the things the opponent did right as opposed to the complaining player. He looks at enemy's micro in fights, overall macro and the composition when it is relevant. This video is no exception.
@@MECHanOkL that's not true, he analyses the opponent very less than the player, for exemple not saying anything to the protoss opponent floating on 1000 gaz, that's just an exemple from memory, he looks at how bad the player is, not at if he is better or not than the opponent.

At 8:40 ish with all the mines.. Mind you I haven't played terran since the last time I replayed wings of liberty campaign... I feel like missile turrets are cheaper at that point right?
But that many missile Turrets for just 5 Phoenix wouldnt be worth they dont help in fights or harras situations what he should have done is building some cylones in my Opinion.
100%. But with how many mines he had 3 turrets total would have kept units safer and been cheaper anyway. I bring it up because its garbage and still better than what he did
Watching this gave me an idea for BGMWSS - Play as Terran and build almost only Mines. Make it so wherever your opponent goes on the map he gets blasted with Mines. Harass with Mines too.

Ill never forget the NASL match where Gretorp spent the first five minutes trying to explain the math of why 16 is optimal for mining, except he did in the most awkward, Gretorp way ever... in the end, every time he made a point dan just said “okaaaay”. Man, that was like 2013, I’ve been watching this game twice as long as I’ve owned my apartment.
At 13:20 ish this gives me an idea for bgmwss.. I Dont think you can do it mind you. But basically the idea is roughly go for a 2 base all in like this terran has but Dont actually commit to it. Light harass is allowed but the goal is to pretend like your gonna all in but never do so to the point that your macro is 5 a 5 minute macro game at the 10 minute mark without real macro supporting it. At this point you have to somehow come back with macro and defend with your "all in" until you can actually come back. Whatever build you want to do is fine I trust your planning but max upgrades by 10 minutes should be 1/1/1. Not a great "plan" on my end more just a broad goal I can't think of specifics but hopefully you get the point. Really the goal would be as if you took over a platinum or diamond league game for a player that was behind and tried your best to make a win out of it.
Love your videos man. I would submit a replay but the naming for these videos is backwards from what I would need to feel comfortable. Start a series call "I suck, but it could be IMBA" and I will be able to submit lots.
To be fair 99% of the Playerbase sucks you can see it the BGWSS Series so dont feel bad and just sumit an replay. The Funny Part about this Series is mostly the roasting and with your Series Idea the roasting would just be half as funny because you already say yourself you suck.

I once tried to make a cheesecake. I read the recipe, and in my infinite arrogance said "They must be wrong. No cake bakes for that long!" I ended up with a puddle of cheese goop that I didn't know how to fix. I let the damn thing cool and everything. That's what this game was like.
@PeekaChi Yes protoss should have on average 3 or 4 workers in the early game, but the terran player killed more workers with he hellions than the adept did kill scvs. By right, terran at that point should have more scvs than protoss but did not because he stopped building svcs for awhile. Then there's the supply block multiple times which puts him even farther behind.
Apparently there was one game before one of the recent patches, zerg opponent was doing a nydus worm build order that was quite hard to defend against, and Harstem said that it was a little imba. Can't find the video about it though!
He did say that hydra lurker viper was imba in the flying dragons episode, but complaint wasn’t about hydra lurker viper is was about Zerg being imba watch it
The only way he's doing that is if Serral or Reynor send in a replay and tell him something's imba. For Harstem it's imba until you're the GOAT... and he's right. The answer is always just to play better.
It's always the terrans man. They don't even realize how many of their mistakes should be game-ending because, for Terran, they often aren't. Terran is honestly the easiest race for average players. Clearly this doesn't apply at high level, but if your only goal is to just get to diamond, play Terran.
Even if the guy was right about Terrians needing to be ahead of Protoss, then get ahead of the Protoss with better upgrades sooner! Maybe, he thought 1, 1shouldn't get out before 8 minutes. I don't know.
How come I never see people taking advantage of the fact that a command centre can load/unload units like saving a few scvs from early harass that are outside the main base
number one things to work on for this guy: Don't get supply blocked and dont anti-micro, just a-move. If you do those things you win these games easily.
I really like how people think that just doing anything at all with their units is "micro", and of course, the more micro the better! Especially Terrans, although this happens with all races, but everyone knows you're supposed to micro your stimmed bio really hard so I think terrans put more emphasis on this. That's how you end up with marauders doing fucking laps around a battlefield not shooting at all and then terrans complaining that their opponents control was shit - clearly, the protoss should have also been sending his units to the cliff and back before they were allowed to shoot. Silly protoss, thinking your units are supposed to do DPS! Another favourite of mine from this game was when there was an archon in the natural, at 16:30 and the terran had all his bio there already shooting it, he "stutter stepped" them all onto the archon so that he would lose dps while running over in order for the archon splash to hit more of them. Like, my dude... it's time just start a-moving. Your "micro" is making your army perform worse.
But its true that terran needs to micro harder to defeat protoss’s army mid-late game. I think terran players should have more confidence at micro-ing units and being patience before attacking after that im pretty sure game will be much easier for terran.
I want to know how people like this end up in masters. Like, I'm 99% certain I could have smoked this guy, and I'm still in platinum 1. I'm slowly progressing as a Zerg, but still. You got any advice? Been watching your stuff, lowko's, and games and highlights from pro tournaments.
First of all, 4300 is barely master 3 and these players have a huge ego, but they're pretty bad at the game still. Really not much different from diamond players at all. And secondly, no you wouldn't. There's a reason for rankings and a reason why you're not even in diamond. This guy would crush you in 99/100 games. Forget the idea that you're any good and that might help your progress. Watch replays of your games and think about what you do wrong and how you can fix it. Be objective.
@@TheLOMTONG I very much do. I feel like it would have been hard to lose to that. I would have had 2 2 2 roach, rav, ling, bane by that time with at least three base full saturation and most likely a fourth and fifth.

Evanator I'm sorry it came off as rude, but this is exactly what I'm trying to get across to you. You're in plat 1, and that's really all I need to know. I don't need to see anything of yours to know that you need improvement in every single part of the game to progress further. I have 4 accounts at 5.0k mmr right now, and I am trying to improve still. The way I do it is by first realizing that I suck at the game in so many ways. It all feels good and fine when you're playing a game, but looking at my own replays, my eyes hurt most of the time.
I feel like if a player has the guts to insult Harstem for IODIS you need to be on your a game. On another note I played so poorly in a match up once that my opponent GGed out of the game couldn't stand how crap I was playing.
I don't even play sc2 really, but way I see it. It was just Protoss having 1-2base more all the time, so Terran didn't lose because the race, but because he lost economy. Also that complaint about enemy micro was false, he microed just fine.
On EU server 47% (ridiculous number, half of best players are protoss!) of Grandmaster league is Protoss race, while general population across all leagues of Protoss players is only second to Terran. Why is that so? I am interested in your answer. I won't ask about things like why Protoss can A-move with literally any army comp and stomp any army comp of Terran or Zerg, if neither side is microing (obviously I am talking about same value of armies and armies, that can shoot at each other (so no zealots versus banshees etc.)), with microing and all, 49% is even more ridiculous. Grandmaster players usually micro their units. If Serral or Maru are god tier players and destroy Protoss players left and right, it doesn't save regular grandmasters (which are already very good players). Why do you need to put in much more effort to even be on the level playing field with random Protoss? And if you think, that all races are on the level playing field, then where do 47% come from? It was 49% earlier. I saw this style in Bronz Leauge Heroes. In some point of game terran had over 60 mines.

Why it said victory(with protoss symbol) at the end while it was defeat? Does that mean the replay was actually send by the protoss player?
I think replays always show the victor at the end, doesn't matter who sent it in.

It's always the terrans man. They don't even realize how many of their mistakes should be game-ending because, for Terran, they often aren't.
Terran is honestly the easiest race for average players. Clearly this doesn't apply at high level, but if your only goal is to just get to diamond, play Terran.
well it says he's 4.3k mmr in the start, which is diamond, not masters. My guess is he went on a win streak and peaked into m3 then dropped back down.

number one things to work on for this guy: Don't get supply blocked and dont anti-micro, just a-move.
If you do those things you win these games easily.
I really like how people think that just doing anything at all with their units is "micro", and of course, the more micro the better! Especially Terrans, although this happens with all races, but everyone knows you're supposed to micro your stimmed bio really hard so I think terrans put more emphasis on this. That's how you end up with marauders doing fucking laps around a battlefield not shooting at all and then terrans complaining that their opponents control was shit - clearly, the protoss should have also been sending his units to the cliff and back before they were allowed to shoot. Silly protoss, thinking your units are supposed to do DPS!
Another favourite of mine from this game was when there was an archon in the natural, at 16:30 and the terran had all his bio there already shooting it, he "stutter stepped" them all onto the archon so that he would lose dps while running over in order for the archon splash to hit more of them. Like, my dude... it's time just start a-moving. Your "micro" is making your army perform worse.

This is a smart Terran. He throws so Blizzard will see this and nerf Toss harder. The replay sender probably just wants warhound auto wins back.
But its true that terran needs to micro harder to defeat protoss’s army mid-late game.
I think terran players should have more confidence at micro-ing units and being patience before attacking after that im pretty sure game will be much easier for terran.

First of all, 4300 is barely master 3 and these players have a huge ego, but they're pretty bad at the game still. Really not much different from diamond players at all.
And secondly, no you wouldn't. There's a reason for rankings and a reason why you're not even in diamond. This guy would crush you in 99/100 games. Forget the idea that you're any good and that might help your progress. Watch replays of your games and think about what you do wrong and how you can fix it. Be objective.
@@TheLOMTONG I very much do. I feel like it would have been hard to lose to that. I would have had 2 2 2 roach, rav, ling, bane by that time with at least three base full saturation and most likely a fourth and fifth.

That's why I said how I was in Plat 1 and didn't say I should be in masters. I also asked for advice, like any person looking to improve would. I do watch my replays and do correct things. (As indicated by the "Slowly improving" bit I put there.)
Evanator I'm sorry it came off as rude, but this is exactly what I'm trying to get across to you. You're in plat 1, and that's really all I need to know. I don't need to see anything of yours to know that you need improvement in every single part of the game to progress further. I have 4 accounts at 5.0k mmr right now, and I am trying to improve still. The way I do it is by first realizing that I suck at the game in so many ways. It all feels good and fine when you're playing a game, but looking at my own replays, my eyes hurt most of the time.

I feel like if a player has the guts to insult Harstem for IODIS you need to be on your a game. On another note I played so poorly in a match up once that my opponent GGed out of the game couldn't stand how crap I was playing.
I don't even play sc2 really, but way I see it. It was just Protoss having 1-2base more all the time, so Terran didn't lose because the race, but because he lost economy. Also that complaint about enemy micro was false, he microed just fine.
This didnt feel like a master's game... however, great content as always

On EU server 47% (ridiculous number, half of best players are protoss!) of Grandmaster league is Protoss race, while general population across all leagues of Protoss players is only second to Terran. Why is that so? I am interested in your answer. I won't ask about things like why Protoss can A-move with literally any army comp and stomp any army comp of Terran or Zerg, if neither side is microing (obviously I am talking about same value of armies and armies, that can shoot at each other (so no zealots versus banshees etc.)), with microing and all, 49% is even more ridiculous. Grandmaster players usually micro their units. If Serral or Maru are god tier players and destroy Protoss players left and right, it doesn't save regular grandmasters (which are already very good players). Why do you need to put in much more effort to even be on the level playing field with random Protoss? And if you think, that all races are on the level playing field, then where do 47% come from? It was 49% earlier.

And this is basically time, when Blizzard announces no Blizzcon patch this year. I just talk about EU, because it's the biggest server and it's data should be the most accurate.

His 10 most viewed Videos are btw mostly BGWSS and 0 IIIODIS Videos. I think aswell that the IIIODIS Series is more recommended aswell because the IMBA in the Titles but not sure about that RUclips is weird with that.
