I received 2 slabs (1 PSA & 1 BGS) in the same week and both of them had scratches on them that I was not made aware of prior to purchase. I tried this method and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Thanks for the video..👍
I tried this method but when rubbing in the Scratch X liquid white gel on surface of slab it went over on the sides of the slab and now the liquid white gel got inside the slab on the edges and dried up leaving white streaks that now look like scratch marks. Any ideas how to reach and clean? The holder top is held down so tight.
Wow, that is a pretty good remedy for the scratches. Appreciate this video. Just like you, I also put my graded cards in sleeves and yes I buy graded cards all the time and they arrive scratched up. Just a friendly FYI, I would never put any kind of liquid or lotion-type material on the case...Contrary to popular belief, PSA and SGC cases are NOT water proof nor air tight. Something can easy leak into the cases and damage your card. I would place any liquid/cleaning-materials on the towel first, rub it in, then rub onto the cases. Another FYI, BGS cases are water/liquid proof/sealed. Thanks again for the video and this great suggestion.
@@tylerfortin4937 It just sucks when the listing has multiple angles making the slab look flawless, then receiving it with a scratch you can clearly see right off the bat.
@@Brancovtn65oh yeah it fucking blows my man don’t get me wrong!! I got a Corocoro mew a few months back it’s Cgc graded and the damn thing had a big ass scratch on the front well more like a blemish! I still love the card tho it’s super nice!!
It's not perfect, but nothing is.. Sometimes damage is just damage. However, it definitely cleaned them well and certainly there was improvement, so that's a win for sure!
Worked for me too but you really have to put some pressure. It is not cheap but it will be a good investment for future scratches. thanks for the video
I collect a lot of slabbed graded coins (polishing slabs became a hobby I didn’t want) , I have not yet came across a slab that didn’t have a scratch , I even sent coins out to be graded they came with 1 tiny scratch on the slab ... what I found works for me is drill press , I ordered small 1” -2” diameter foam pads I let drill press do polishing on slab it’s gets out a lot of scratches I use Novus plastic polish I also use Scratch-X last for very fine scratches (use a different foam pad for each polishing compound don’t mix them up polishing compound has different grits in to remove finer scratches left by the heavier polishing compound) ... deeper scratches ? They have to be sanded down with 3000-5000 mesh sheet (3M makes nice mesh sheet you can find at auto store) or you can finishing it even finer with 8000 mesh grit sanding mesh (the smaller the scratches the easier they polish out).. then switch to novus polish in a drill press of course on low speed ! Not super high speed the highest I’ll go is about 800-1000 rpm (on on last stage of polishing with scratch-X)
@@JayBobSons we have keep in mind not all scratches come out either some deep scratches are there for life ... I’ve bought a couple PSA graded cards from eBay and was bummed out with the scratches. I’m actually wondering if the slabs come with scratches directly from PSA as well. Good video.
Hey, Mr. Kimble! I appreciate you stopping by! Well, I have gotten some of my own submissions back and usually they are in pristine coming directly from them. These seemed to be shuffled around and handled quite a bit.
Looking to buy something like this for my slabs. It somewhat scares me though because I wanna do it on my more valuable cards and I don’t want to ruin the card or slab somehow, do you think it’s possible?
This stuff works pretty good! Its not gonna get into the slab, at least I do not think so. I had good luck with it. Get some and try it on a slab that is not as important first to get the hang of it. Cheers!

@@JayBobSons I put too much on front and back and it got between top holder and the base and it now has white streaks along the side. I’m beside myself as I did it to a super valuable gem MT 10. @@JayBobSons the only thing I can do is send it in to PSA for a Reholder service to put it in a new slab and pay hundreds to do that but hate the fact that the slab has to be cracked and gem MT 10 card pulled out and put into a new slab. Big lesson learned
