Yay, nice to see some Brissie love!🙂 It's a bit underrated at times. it's come a long way over the last 10 years and there's even more huge revamps happening right now to get ready for the olympics. I lived in Sydney quite a number of years but back living in South East Qld now. Brissie is clean, friendly, easy to get around and has a lot of great food options. There's even a free ferry and bus route. Nice to see you visted the war memorial in Anzac Square (there's also one in Hyde park in Sydney). I love Southbank parklands, such a beautiful oasis in the city. They have the collective markets there Fri nights and over the weekend and lots of restaurants and cafes. Yes we call those tops a tank top (or singlet) too. There's definitely some coffee shops that stay open later but I guess it's depends on where you are/were, it's hard to know these things when visiting. I'm still getting used to being up here again. Some places may stay open later in summer too. Yes, I'd agree , it's a similar ish climate to Florida in south east Queensland (sub tropical). And the top half of Qld is completely different again, it's a fully tropical climate with only two seasons, wet and dry. Reccomend a visit to Eat Street in Hamilton (north shore) if you're in Brissie in the future. And maybe check out Fortitude valley lane ways and Australian music walk of fame. And Mount coot-tha look out (you can get a bus to the sunmit, you don't have to do the trail walk up). Incredible views of the whole greater city and nice botanical gardens too. P.s got nostalgia with Lone Pine Koala sanctuary. We used to go there on school exclusions back in the day 🐨 Love how much you loved the koalas .🙂
The Kangaroo Point cliffs are made of Brisbane Tuff, a type of volcanic rock kilometres thick in some areas. The cliffs are man made, having been a convict era quarry used in a lot of old buildings and kerbs in Brisbane. It is actually an extremely hard erosion resistant rock. Oh yes, and generally bagels are terrible in Australia.
Missed you! I'm just about to do the jump out of Brissie because it's gotten so huge, but it is a cool city. Second best coffee after Melbourne. Skip the Gold Coast for the Sunshine Coast and try Kai Coffee.
This was such a wholesome video to watch as a Brisbane local, I love our beautiful growing city. The Metro card we have is called a Go Card but later this year you won’t need to use it, and can use Apple/Google Pay everywhere for transport which will be awesome. It gets a lot of hate from locals and other Aussies but I would never want to live anywhere else. Even if being outside during the entirety of summer is unbearable, but Brisbane in winter is the best place on Earth. Hope you come back and visit again! We are building so much, a new underground rail system, hundreds of new cafes, restaurants. It will be a very different place in a few years, especially with the 2032 Olympics.
and the way you were having a subtle dig at Katie when she was justifying her Hobart and Brisbane preferences during your walk n talk… it felt like you were showing off an acquired Aussie sense of humour right there 🙏🏻
Lol QLD weather is worse. I'm from NZ I can't agree though. But why can't you meet people in person in Hobart? and when you mean environment worse you mean plants and weather or you mean people? The General Douglas Mac Arthur museum looks cool, I'm still to visit it. Thanks again
Clarify the weather. Summer is disgustingly oppressive humidity mainly January and February. April to October weather is quite ideal. March and November can have a few too hot summer days. Winter daytime average max is 21 celsius with jackets and a few evenings justifying indoor fire places at night. The ferry is referred to as the rivercat. It's changing to normal credit cards not just the stupid Go Card.
Most people call it the City Cat because we also have (or had? I’m not sure how many are left) some ferries that do specific routes, usually directly across the river. But yes, they’re so named because they’re catamarans.
Good stuff - yeah Brisbane gets a bit empty late @ night. Hope West End worked out ok. Dunno - used to be a bit scary @ night over there - hope u r ok. Next time if u need a friend to meet for a coffee I’m avail - on Gold Coast but that’s only an hour away.
@@coffeeenut Fair enough. I am originally from Brissie and moved to the Coast 8 years ago. I just see nothing but its flaws now. Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself though 🙂

I'm from Perth but have visited Brisbane a couple of times. It's such a cool city. Thanks for sharing your travels with us!
thanks so much for watching!

Hi Ashley good morning happy Friday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
thank you so much!
@@coffeeenut your welcome sending you hugs ❤️ 🤗
Is it true? That shopping in Australia is like an American 80s flashback with busy malls crawling with people and Kmart and Woolworths still around?
If you are in BNE this month it's melting weather! Thanks for the video!
hahah thankfully not
Where were the koalas, what’s the name of the sanctuary as I’d live to visit it. Thanks
Right now the city is going crazy for the Brisbane lions who are in the 2023 AFL grand final! Go Lions !

You should head up the coast to Cardwell and see the battle of the Coral Sea memorial. Pretty awesome.

Welcome to my part of the world well adjacent to I'm in Ipswich.
Have you eaten at a place yet that serves kangaroo?
Pepe's is the best.

Nothing to do in Brisbane other than shops. Shops are anywhere in the world. Nothing to do and nothing to see. Brisbane sucks
rude
@@coffeeenut not sure how long you've been in Brisbane. But its just a small city with shops... there's to do or see.
