They were a sort of SKA band but the Specials at the time did SKA way better and so many 2 tone bands at the time plus they had no black members so lost credibility and remodelled themselves as a separate genre...nutty music...lol

This used to be true, but they have evolved greatly. Search for the album The Liberty of Norton Follgate and play all to get an appreciation.

My Girl is one of my favourite Madness songs & also Bed and Breakfast Man . And there's Drip Fed Fred which they sang with Ian Dury .
Hearing these all through my life makes me appreciate these 80s bands fantastic 😊
