Hello everyone, good viewing🐼
how did you post this 12 Hours ago
Gigguk if you want a manuhwa which tugs on the heart and has one of the best stories to come out of South Korea it’s The Boxer I promise you it’s very good and something you would enjoy. Also great video keep up the good work
Yo read LOTM, it's up there with orv as one of the candidates for best webnovel, with one of the best and unique power systems, I would say even better than orv
To tempt others into reading, here's an oversimplified ver:
The power system is based on the arcana cards(e.g. The Fool, The hanged giant, Justice), every card is called a pathway, basically a pathway to godhood, and there are 9 sequences, with 9 being the lowest :) . So, to enter the pathways, you need to make a potion of the 9th level or path, and ypu get the ability of the name of your potion(for example, [Spectator], you can get the ability to be able to observe details not normally seen, enhanced vision, enhanced mental attributes), you can just wait for your body to digest the potion slowly, oorrr, you can treat the name of your potion as the trait that you need to act as, so for spectator, you'll need to act like one, buutt, spectator isn't the only potion, for example, [Prisoner], with the next sequence being [Lunatic], so everything is very diverse
And as you might expect for a novel to have that kind of unique power system, the world building is also very good, with many, many unique places either mentioned, or explored by the tarot club
Highly recommend the Chinese WebNovel Reverend insanity. It’s isekai, however that’s not its main point. It’s an incredible read but its a little dark. Best Eastern story i have ever experienced.
Omniscient reader is actually so peak it's insane

Not to mention that the novel was literally awarded to by the south korean gov cuz it was just that goated. For months and months, i stayed up past midnight, reading this masterpiece, something that if you were to tell me before, i would have never believed you. I will never forget the night one summer and two or so years ago where i stayed up until 2am, reading the 551st chapter while simultaneously balling my eyes out because of, yes, how much of an amazing story it is, but also because i dreaded it being over. But then again, a story is never truly done being told if there are still people reading it. I dream of the day that ORV gets the recognition it deserves because it is truly a revolutionary work of fiction (coming from a very smug novel reader), yet I'm also afraid of what our niche fandom might evolve into when that time inevitably comes.

ORV is so hard to explain. On paper it looks like just another cliche power fantasy, but you get to the end of the webnovel and it changes the way you look at fiction and interpersonal relationships. Fun fact Dokja isn't actually ugly in the lightnovel too. He's called the ugliest king because 4th Wall keeps people from remembering his face bc he isn't a character. Characters express that they don't understand why he's called ugly when they see him multiple times, he's jus average compared to Yoo Junghyuk
True but his 4th wall doesnt block his face bc of him being an outsider.
I wont spoil much bc theres a lot of manhwa readers here.
it's just another level of meta-commentary people overlook. it refers to the 80-20 principle in dating.
@@AndrewDokja i haven read the novel in a while but isnt his face blurred instead of being forgotten?
@@AndrewDokja I’ve read the novel too. Of course there are multiple reasons why his face is hidden and he is called ugly. But 4th wall is essentially there to stop him from becoming a character and among many things it does, hiding his face until he reaches a certain point does help keeping him from becoming a character.
Also considering the version of the story we’re reading the author may be calling him ugly out of spite.
Not having read any of it and just from the video, it felt also obvious to me there was a reason why he was said to be ugly. It's also a very common cliché that some characters are seen as ugly when they're almost literally drawn the same as everyone else.

ORV is one of those stories that can only be experienced fully in a writen medium. Some descriptions would lose their weight if they get visualized. For exemple, without given a spoiler.
description of a certein monster:
"...It didn't matter how many books they read or how many words they knew. 'It can't be described'. All human words were helpless in front of the coming existence. The entire sky was covered by the darkness of this being....He didn't know where to cut because he couldn't see where it started or ended."
this is my favorite description of a certain situation. It was the way of the author saying " yes, it's a plothole, deal with it":
"It's the same thing as the 'square circle' or the 'triangle with the total of their interior angles coming at 720 degrees."
"But, something like that can't exist, right?"
"It's more correct to say that you can't even imagine it, actually. However, as texts, as pharagraphs, they certainly can exist."

Garnt is just trying to be more rational and relateable to the viewers, those who havent read the novel or manhwa yet will definitely think that orv is just another trash isekai regression kinda thing. So instead of trying to convince the viewer who havent read it by telling them "how good it is", he took the "how different it is" route which is better because it is easier to convince someone and make them do something if we start from what they know about the troupe rather than giving them new knowledge about how good it is

@@rilasrailac I get it, I just wish he would've talked more about the characters and their interactions because that's what hooked me when I was first reading it. Creators writing women as human beings tends to be pretty novel in this genre
Omniscient Reader is so freaking good. It's a loveletter to manhwa and everything else in its genre. Its a commentary on story and the main characters involve a reader, a writer, and the main character, allowing you to see all 3 dimensions of the artform. Dokja is a very realistic individual. Wow, glad you've discovered the ORV as a person who has read the novel to the end and not just once and is reading the manhwa in on-going too I can definitely say it really is easily the best manhwa in existence. And yes, it's great all the way through and has the great ending too. As well as great characters, storytelling, ideas, sense of humour, characters' chemistry and plot's logic. + it's not just a male fantasy plot like in Solo Leveling which is nothing more than that, though a really quality one.
When I watched your manhwa video, I was disappointed that you didn’t go into depth with this one but I see you were saving it for this moment
You speak about the series like a novel reader. You really get it
The reason why KDJ is falsely pushed as an underdog at the start of the manhwa is because the novel was narrated by him, and he is the epitome of an unreliable narrator, with an extremely warped perception of himself. It becomes more and more clear as you read. This doesn’t translate as well to the manhwa format I guess
omniscient reader is a strange novel. that's because while the narrator is kim dokja, the perspective is han sooyoung. she wrote omniscient reader in his pov and travelled the worldlines, came to ours, and delivered it to SingShong(the author of orv) for them to plagiarize. so, the story is technically told through HSY's eyes with KDJ as the main character. (it's also highly implied that, we, the readers of the novel, are fragments of KDJ whose memory she is trying to restore by writing omniscient reader. that makes so much sense when you take into account the quote "This story is for just that one reader." we are that one reader. and that one reader, kim dokja, is us. very meta.)
so HSY wrote the pov of YJH into TWSA, to which KDJ read and created a world where he is the underdog and YJH is his companion of life and death, to which HSY wrote about this world in KDJ's pov after KDJ "dies", to which YJH took her writing and spread them across the world lines, to which SingShong plagiarized. yeah... uh... i don't get it either..
@@emqntr yeah this is why i’m a bit 😬😬 about the manhwa because it literally will never be able to convey the story as well as the novel, because the story itself is designed FOR that medium… but it’s hard to explain that to people who haven’t read it without sounding pretentious as hell! augh!!!
@@elianaphobic even worse, it's being adapted into movie. literally HOW are they going to convey the message atp
@@emqntr I GOT MY ASS BEAT ON TWITTER BY KPOP FANS WHEN I BROUGHT THIS UP😭😭
@@elianaphobic LMAOOOOO OFC ITS TWITTER. nah cus orv is the type of novel that's best enjoyed in its original form of media, since other portrayals of it will deeply undermine the message. manhwa ehhh i guess i could get behind. movie? MOVIE????
ORV is so peak korea gonna create a live adaptation of it before solo leveling
[The Fifth Wall can appreciate Gigguk's awareness of this godly Novel]
Orv is literally my fav piece of media ever. It’s just so good at the way it makes the readers connect with dokja cause we ARE DOKJA aaaa
So there are more people like me. Makes me happy lol. I think i cried over 20 times reading the epilouge. Dokja-Joonghyuk-Sooyoung greatest trio of all time.

Anime adaptation announced a month after gigguk makes a video
10:50 seems like Garnt didn't let Alain buy Gundam 00 gunpla to put it into the video
Words cannot describe how amazing ORV is and what it meant to me when I read it for the first time. I love how much love it’s getting right now.
Every ORV fan I ever seen would do anything for ORV, and so would I
totally. i get embarrassingly excited the second it's mentioned...

Garnt using his Engineering degree and masters by name dropping laminar flow in a manhwa action-fantasy video.
Nah, that's the most generic physics term like ever, everyone knows it
Rejoice ladies and gents, Omniscient reader anime has been announced!
personal opinion but ngl i think "Webtoon Character Na Kang Lim" is also a pretty good story inside of story one, its kinda similar with the reading the novel part and how he changes some events aswell as the ability to loop back on death
This is it, we finally get the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint video.
If you are deciding to read a manhwa for the first time, this is what you should read. Its peak manhwa and has over 200 chapters so far. The novel is complete and it goes into much more detail about the story itself. Both the novel and manhwa have their pros and cons and I would say to read both of them.
Nah I would differ on that... ORV is greatest when you are used to the tropes of Manhwas and know what all these Tower/Hunter/Deathgames genre's are all about.
You gotta read the tropey stuff before you get into the meta commentary on those tropes with ORV. It would make your experience so much better.
Also, directly starting with ORV would highten your expectations through the roof and nothing else would ever be able to satisfy you anymore.
So read the average stuff like Solo Leveling or other Tower/dungeon manhwas, before coming to ORV.
The ORV video I've been waiting for this ever since you made your manhwa video 😭😭😭
Thank you for making me read this manhwa, its beyond amazing, I didn't expect that.
I'm so happy that you are doing more Manhwa Gigguk. It really lifts my hope for the industry because I feel like it does get overshadowed by anime when it really deserves to stand side by side with it. I wish I had the platform to speak on it like you do because there are SO many things I could say about it from the Murim to the classic School fight genres or to the Dungeon stories. You also manage to always take the thoughts from my head and put them into the nicest way possible. I always imagined that Japan had their Isekai, Korea had their Reincarnation, and China had their Murim. You explained this in one of your videos and it just made me so happy. No one will read this but I'm so glad you're covering it
as a manhwa as well as a web novel reader of orv, you can only fathom how amazing the story gets as the plot progresses, it's so much more than just a piece of fiction for a lot of us orv fans, so glad to see you talk about it
truly. i get embarrassingly giddy every time i see someone mention it.
This is so true

I actually finished the Novel of ORV this Saturday and it goes Absolutely NUTS in the Second half, and Last 150 chapters Blows everything out of proportion.
how do you feel about the ending buddy... did u expect it 🙂
@@yna1nna it depends on which ending you meant, cause i did think about the First Ending(before Epilogue), but everything Just goes so hard and all the concepts, i guessed about the Author’s identity but not about wall’s identity. Or how ending happens(you know the last one). So i kinda guessed first half but not the second of ending(s).
watching this knowing we’re at one of the best arcs of the entire series that will change the chemistry intensely
I love that everyone in the comments is mentioning 49/51
