- There are some common mistakes that people do when they move to Malta and in this video i am sharing information on which mistakes to avoid when moving to Malta. I asked the Expats community what are some of the mistakes they have done when they moved to Malta. Some common mistakes were that people moved in the more central part of Malta where it is noisy and crowded. Others said that they underestimate the cost of living in Malta, it is more expensive than you think! Watch the video in full as it has many important points to make your life in Malta easier!
Thank you for watching this video guys! For those that want to get my Maltese guide book, the link is here: alexinmalta.com/shop/
What Marty said was regretting not moving to Malta sooner which... I completely agree with. I wish I came here 10-15 years earlier.
❤️❤️

ANOTHER INTELLIGENT & ARTICULATE VIDEO 🦉.
Proset Alex for the way you present these sort of videos - with respect to other people's comments and fairness. This topic, in a way, is of interest to me.
THANKS ALEX 🎙️ 🎥 👏.
Cheers 👍🇲🇹❤🇪🇺 ™️
Glad you enjoyed it !! Thank you John
Alex, continued thanks for the videos you take time to produce! Let me just jump in here and say that in terms of age, my wife and I probably represent a distinct minority in your audience....so I totally understand why your focus is typically on the needs of younger people with career aspirations. But IF we were to move to Malta (or even Gozo), we would be in retirement. In other words, no need for night clubs, bars, upscale shopping, etc. Primary needs would circle around convenient access to good grocery shopping (not just a small "Mom & Pop shop") and also close to hospitals/doctors/medical care. Also, here's a question I've long meant to ask you: what do our fellow dog owners do when living in Malta? Obviously, we need to be courteous and responsible and pick up after our pets...no question about that. But so many towns (I see via Google Street View) are block after block of densely-built houses and apartments with 1-meter wide sidewalks on 3-meter wide streets...pavement, pavement, pavement! Far, far away from a single blade of grass!
Hi David, thank you so much for the great comment, i think for you ideal would br Marsaskala. Most of the people with dogs are happy in Malta, most of the towns on few min walking have parks
Thanks for this particular video and the others like it that you have produced. They are very informative and gives us lots of ideas to consider. I am Maltese born and live in Australia and have recently retired. When you read comments as you did in this Vlog I always ask "did the person that wrote that work in Malta or are they retired?". For me Malta would have been a nightmare when I was still employed as I can earn easily 4 times as much in Australia. Now having retired and made my money in Australia retiring in Malta is extremely attractive. So maybe ask people to say whether they work for a living or are retired to give us some insight to their comments. Thanks again.
I'm originally from Austria, living here since a bit more than a month now.
So far I don't regret my decision even when I was almost hit by a car that was driving on the wrong side... on my third day here 😂
I was talking with a Filipino bolt driver recently about the traffic here ... and we both laughed about it because both us know how the traffic in Manila is like 😂
I love seeing all these stray cats round here n also how some people take care of them with food
My biggest mistake so far was not realizing how big the price ranges here can be since there are no regulations, no matter if it's about apartment food or whatsoever.
But like I said I don't regret my move here so far
Keep up the good work Alex
Will love to meet you in Malta soon 😊
Am planning to come to Austria or makta to study and work .. think Austria pay more but disappointed you run away to malta which means malta is better ‼️‼️
Wow! I like your comment a lot !❤️hope to see you here
@@AlexinMalta of course have my appointment with embassy on 28 of this month

Hi Alex, thanks for all the informative videos, you doing a very good job, it doesn't effect me as I'm well & truly settled as I am in my well advanced age, but I'm sure it will help a lot of other people, bye.
One more video, nice.❤ friendship in Malta- yes, good idea. When everyone see each other as a competition, staying away from people from other countries like they are sick or something, stabing in a back from own people and community, and others, because of job…interesting topic!😅👍 Hm, but it’s probably the same everywhere.🤔I would really like to hear your guests from all over the world what would they say about making friends there. But friends from “other countries “. Waiting for that video…don’t keep me waiting toooo looong.😘 Pozdrav od Nataše!
Thank you Alex, you re right spot on....yeah can you do a video concerning friends in Malta😊😊😊🎉🎉❤ ? and also I did saw your video on Gozo but it would be wonderful if you can make another video.😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉😊

Hi Alex, thanks for the videos - with the property marketing getting a bit crazy and looking at flats a bit further out ourselves, it would be interesting to know how easy it easy to buy a scooter / car etc on the island and also the normal process or mistakes made in doing so.
Its very easy, get yourself a small car, low insurance and easy to park anywhere :)
@@AlexinMalta great to know. We arrive next month :)

My biggest mistake was thinking the oven in my apartment was a toy. It only goes up to 250 degrees. It took me a week to realize that is in Celsius! (ps US uses miles per hour)
🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️
Average American 😆
Yes more of Gozo and more of the ancient ruins around the island and the countryside.
Coming up :)

Kindly compare Gozo' and Malta's life
Definitely 🤝🏻😍
@@AlexinMalta thank you Alex bro. I'm waiting
Alex I hope you don't mind me commenting on this question?
I have lived in both. Malta for 10 years and Gozo for 4.
They are like night and day to make a long story short.
Malta has so much more to offer than Gozo, nightlife, restaurants, beaches, shopping, bars, historical places, all kinds of activities, I could go on and on.
Gozo is very quiet. Most stores excluding the small shopping centers, still close from 2 to 4pm. There are not enough beaches in my opinion. Most restaurants only open from 6pm especially in the winter months.
Meeting new people is much more difficult than Malta because most are either gozitan and have their own group of friends and family or are just tourists for the day. No nightlife to speak of on a regular basis.
If you can do without these things than Gozo is the place for you. IMO it's a good place for a short visit or if you live for people who are retired.
That all said I miss Malta especially when I just want to go out for a drink at any time of the day or evening and all my favourite beaches and just sitting at a cafe in sliema people watching.😊

US uses miles not kilometers in driving.
Australia is a better place to move to I guess.
Depends what u prefer
But there is snakes poisoning insects, that is the problem in Australia
People living there are still alive :D@@english1222

Gozo boring, don’t go there
Next time bring or first talk to a person who is older than 50 years to learn how was Malta and how its now completely changed due to the invasion from all over the world I followed other of yopur videos Though you been 9 years you know nothing of Malta and its cultural death
