Final Fantasy XIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix. Directed and produced by Naoki Yoshida.
The game, known as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, is a replacement for the 2010 version of Final Fantasy XIV and takes place in the fictional land of Eorzea, five years after the events of the original release. At the conclusion of the original game, the primal dragon Bahamut escapes from its lunar prison to initiate the Seventh Umbral Calamity, an apocalyptic event which destroys much of Eorzea. Through the gods' blessing, the player character escapes the devastation by time traveling five years into the future. As Eorzea recovers and rebuilds, the player must deal with the impending threat of invasion by the Garlean Empire from the north.
Since release, the game has had a number of content updates produced for it, including three major expansion packs: Heavensward (2015), Stormblood (2017), and Shadowbringers (2019).
SETTING
The four major city-states in Eorzea feature a wide variety of climates and biomes: the forest nation of Gridania is surrounded by a dense thicket called the Black Shroud; Ul'dah is a sultanate with a predilection for commerce situated in the Thanalan Desert; the thalassocracy of Limsa Lominsa finds its home in La Noscea on the island of Vylbrand; and Ishgard is a theocracy built in the snowy mountains of Coerthas. Eorzea is connected to a larger continent to the northeast which has largely been conquered by the militaristic Garlean Empire.
Eorzea's history revolves around a series of Umbral and Astral Eras. Umbral Eras are periods of great calamity-the First Umbral Era marked the end of the age of gods. The guardian deities of Eorzea, known as the Twelve, retreated from direct involvement with mortals during this time. Umbral Eras are followed by periods of enlightenment and cultural growth called Astral Eras. The Third Astral Era was particularly noted for presiding over the Allagan Empire, an ancient civilization whose technology far exceeds the level of the modern age. Each Umbral and Astral Era pair corresponds to one of the six basic elements-wind, lightning, fire, earth, ice, and water. The Sixth Umbral Era was believed to be the last and the civilized races hoped the Sixth Astral Era would last forever. However, five years prior to the start of the game, the Garlean Empire catalyzed a series of events that would lead to the Seventh Umbral Era.
Through their research into the Meteor Project, the Garleans discovered a way to call down the lesser moon Dalamud and use it as a weapon. The plan-spearheaded by the Imperial Legatus Nael van Darnus-was to crash Dalamud into Eorzea, annihilating the beastmen tribes and their primal deities and conquering the smoldering remains. In response to this threat, the three nations of the former Eorzean Alliance reinstated their Grand Companies and reforged their pact. A band of adventurers defeated van Darnus but could not stop Dalamud's continued descent. During a major battle between the Grand Companies and the leaderless Garlean invasion force at the Carteneau Flats in Mor Dhona, Dalamud revealed itself to be an ancient Allagan-made prison for the primal dragon Bahamut, who promptly escaped to initiate the Seventh Umbral Calamity.[ The Sharlayan scholar Louisoix Leveilleur, failing to recontain Bahamut using the Twelve's power, sacrifices himself to defeat the primal after sending a group of adventurers "beyond the reach of time" to reawaken when they were needed again.
Eorzea is threatened by invasion from the forces of the Garlean Empire to the north, first by Legatus Gaius van Baelsar of the XIVth Legion and his lieutenants, Livia sas Junius, Rhitahtyn sas Arvina, and Nero tol Scaeva. The Beastmen tribes also jeopardize the unstable peace in Eorzea with their summoning of primals, aetherial deities who deplete the land of its lifeblood. Both groups are later revealed to be manipulated by the Ascians, an immortal cult determined to awaken their deity Zodiark whose revival imperils all of Hydaelyn.

Man, the trailer for Shadowbringers has to be my favorite trailer for a video game. Love the way it weaves a story and catches you right up before you even realize it. What a masterpiece. The track is great, and so is the rest of the soundtrack. Soken continues to outdo himself! I'm really gonna miss this expac - what a ride. Too bad I can't experience it again for the first time!

Flames of Truth is still the most epic of them all, and one of the best soundtracks ever :)
Now, if only the gameplay itself would look like the cinematics it would be pretty cool. Maybe in the future with UE5
It seems we may see something closer to it as they already said to be working on the game for PS5/XSX, and also read that for those developers who got to use UE4 translation to UE5 should be easy which means some old gems can get some close to realistic looks if demands supports it of course.
watching battle kinda reminding me of Fantasy Earth Zero. really hope global server FEZ will be revived one day. or maybe release the improved ver sequel.

I would make this again. Include the 1.0 cinematics that are very relevant and fix the order of the cinematics to have heavensward before stormblood.

The only thing that would have been more perfect is if you found a way to fit the 1.x intro into all this! But yes that original 2.x intro with Answers playing the background I still feel is the most emotional of them all, especially after the WHM finishes healing the WAR and has that look in her eyes that she hopes he survives to defend her another day.
It's the only time the WoL failed. Ultimately, grandad saved the world, but we failed, and that hurts.

Realm Reborn trailer is the best game trailer I ever seen in my life. Very emotional.
for me it is the shadowbringers one it nearly always brings me to tears, when it's flashing through all the memories(symbolizing when you are having those black outs ingame) right after the fight with zenos where you get plled thru the rift into the first, then it opens with "One brings shadow, One brings the liiiiight" to the WoL walking down the road in Lakeland heading to Crystarium immediately after waking up, then the struggle of fighting the giant lady & then the fight with Thancred& when it zooms in on Minfilia's face and the lyrics say "You are the liiiiiiiight!" oh mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! also idk if you ever have but if you look up the lyrics for that Shadowbringers track it will shake you to the core, it is LITERALLY the story of SHB, it is INCREDIBLE man
If they can render such grahics then expect in the future there wont be much actors and actresses playin action futuristic movies.

SE should use his marketing strategy back then at FF XV. Making a 3D animation movie for the next franchise they will make. The kingsglaive's movie is magnificent that makes FFXV's hype more intense

This game has the best Cinematics for an MMO and, hands down, one of the best and complex main story out there. I have been in and out of the game since it was release. I have also bought all expansions. However, I still cannot fully love the Gameplay. I don't know. I can't really point what it lacks. Also, the filler quests in the main quest line are tedious. If you cannot spare a lot of your time for the main quest line then you will never get the most out of this game.
The Cinematics are definitely up there, I would agree with that for sure! If you have the time I would ask you to check out ESO and this Cinematic Movie as personally I think this game has the best MMO Cinematics out there right now, ruclips.net/video/lZ0jb9Kjo2Y/видео.html
As far as heavy main story questing goes, I think this is the case with most MMO's to be fair, a lot of grinding and running around all over the world to progress the store 0.1% but that being said, it does help to create some epic adventures, if you have the time to spare which sadly I do not :(

Once you watch one MMO cinematic they recommend you the whole lot. I recommend watching the ESO and SWTOR cinematics.
Right, the only thing that FF cinematic pretty much similar to in game as well. SWORT and ESO usually just the cinematics. The games play quite different along with the storytelling.

"Heavensward" ending isn't incomplete. They do a "forward" movement to show the title and logo instead the white text first, reducing the drama feeling.

Damn so moving, their gandalf was so powerful. That game sounds like a fusion between ff war of the lion,ff3, ff9, ff11 and a tiny bit of crystal chronicles, it's gonna be a hell of a game am glad they're done with their noctis like stuffs (no offense)

Very nice but... why are they played out of order? Stormblood and Heavensward are flipped.
For me it made more cinematic sense that Heavensward and Shadowbringers were played together as far as the story goes.
Stormbloods cinematic was kinda out of place compared with the other trailers hence it's position in the movie.
Final fantasy is my all time favorite

the videos are not in 4k ,
they are only videos in a lower resolution opened in an editing program and exported in 4k , which means that the resolution does not increase.

Yes but I felt the ordering was better this way for the purposes of the story.
Stormblood didn't really lead onto Shadowbringers in the same way Heavensward did.

Who is the Archer in "a realm reborn"?
I am new in This game
There’s another intro not shown in this video but the archer in shadowbringers intro at the end is the warrior/dragoon/samurai/monk/dark knight at the end. There’s a whole sequence showing the whole party choosing how to start their adventure and he’s a archer to start.
If you mean the female cat girl Bard I believe she’s a paladin in the first 1.0 cinematic before ARR it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it.

Flies over city as just a big dragon.
Comes back as a moon breaking dragon that has a wing span of 17 moons. Then they channel some energy to fight back. Normal elf-like person is fighting agaist a plant sized dragon.
Ends in draw.
Next chapter, weird human riding on a mutated ostrich.

idk why i could never get into this game for more than a few months at a time. But definitely worth playing if yall never tried it yet. typical JRPG cringe where youre literally the savior of the friggin world and they have you collecting bees wax or something, but it definitely has its moments of epic. :)
pretty sure no other MMO has no generic fetch quests full of originality everywhere else =D

It's better if you just focus on the main story missions. They really hit their stride though in Heavensward. The story is absolutely phenomenal and it has far less menial fetching involved (there is some, it is an MMO after all)

Why is Heavensward after Stormblood? They're out of order.

At least in my eyes having Heavensward appear just before the Shadowbringers Cinematic just felt right.
I think I can understand it only if I have a whole story and a Korean translation.
