It's not insecurity; it's the self-doubting nature that people from Asian countries have because their cultures are highly collectivist. She's not going to brag even if she was the most intelligent person on the planet, and you came from an individualistic society where people have high self-esteem and high self-confidence. Both traits can be valuable in many different ways; an Asian is more likely to be humble and is always ready to learn and improve themselves. And a westerner is highly optimistic has a great need for freedom and are high in autonomy, and because they are high in confidence, they attract more people, of course, when these traits are taken to their extreme, one can suffer from things like inferiority or superiority complex.
It's probably an unpopular opinion. But instead of you investing in your own company with personal money. Set up a retained earnings account that would fund future projects. There is no one to answer to and no risk of being backed into a corner by an investor.

I own a company and would never give someone more than 49% of the company since I’ve seen what happens when there isn’t a final voice to make an executive decision. Without that, stalemates happen and there needs to be one final person to take responsibility. Also I started my business alone and built it to where it is and I personally won’t be giving a percentage of it away to anyone, not even a spouse. People are volatile and unreliable and I won’t risk everything I’ve worked for in a moment of emotionally driven decision making.
It’s good to see such strong rapport here, and it’s one of the reasons I love this particular show. Also I miss Luke in the main content, taking nothing away from the great team today.
Be careful moving into private equity. So many companies become beholden to shareholders and you lose the focus on quality and content; Instead, trading it for gross profit and EBIDTA.
I actually started noticing that Yvonne apperes more often as host or just side person in videos, like for example with the new house explaining how stuff is suppose to be or i remember a few weeks ago as a complete host for a TechLinked episode. Another thing which i find really nice is when Anthony started at LTT in the beginning you could sense how he felt insecure onfront of the camera a bit shy and stuff, but after a while and probably also reading comments about what a nice guy he is he started to feel more comfortable infront of the camera and it really shows with newer videos, way more lively and also bigger and fancier shots with small acting scenes and stuff like that. May this channel keep showing companies whats good and bad and also standing by it :D

Also great to see how human they all are. They all have foibles that aren't just covered up all the time so we only see the persona. Some are a bit egotistical. Some are a bit shy. Some are super knowledgeable but not super performers. Some are the opposite. It's a team of human beings that makes LMG great and keep excellent content worth watching coming out. No one is perfect, but from what we get to see, they seem to have found the balance point where most people can be kept happy a lot of the time so that life and work continue to run smoothly for everyone involved.
I feel like insecurity is a double edge sword, you either get a S-tier partner who is so caring and supportive, or a psychopath.
Or, like in this case, both
I do not think it is quite that binary lol
@@kylenetherwood8734 nah you get both. Super supportive but also batshit crazy🤣
My psycopath is an S-tier who's caring and supportive

That went from buying LTT to having a "meeting" in a soundproof room very fast
Yeah, does anyone know what he means, couldn't find anything on it.
I would totally watch Yvonne Cupcake Tips, and so would my wife.
lets hope the channel opens soon
@@schnauzer93 lol
Agree
I like the idea of rebranding LMG, but I like linus tech tips. To me it's just a reminder of where it all came from. Rebranding LMG makes sense because short circuit and tech quickie and Mac address etc are so much more than just linus. No idea on a good name though.
Also I think the shift away from the Linus specific personality isn’t hindered by the name. Craigslist and Tom’s Hardware work just fine, nobody’s obsessed about Craig or Tom. I don’t even know if Tom exists. “Linus” gives the brand some fun humanity even if there isn’t a front facing Linus Sebastian
But yeah LMG could do with a rebrand. I don’t think it has the same sentimentality or brand presence. Giving it a more fitting name for everything under the umbrella would be good.
I agree, i dont feel that the linus tech tips name detracts from all the other great people (personally alex and riley are my favourites). Also i am used to and quite like the ltt name
Love that Luke doesn’t let Linus off the hook, shows they actually have a healthy company culture.
Yep. Most bosses get defensive or angry when you try to hold them accountable. At least at most places I’ve worked at.
Makes me wonder what happened with madison. It was hinted towards the fact that LMG wasnt a great place to work
@@retrorewind6042 I don't know what you are referring to, but maybe she just didn't fit in.
@@strix3055 im referring to her quitting LTT and the stuff she hinted towards on twitter
@@retrorewind6042 It's a two-way street and she seemed to have exactly the kind of personality that would lead me to point the finger... not at the company.
4:38 - _She let me call it Linus Media Group to"_
Because naming it "Ho Media Group" would've been a bit confusing, yet a missed oppertunity...
Damn, I don't think I have ever seen an LTT video so deep into the personal sides of you
"Objection! Hearsay" Linus is also watching the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial xD
He Probably enjoys himself a Mega Pint
Wan show clips is one of the best ideas in recent times. GG.
Linus should make a 2 part documentary, one about Linus and one about Yvonne. Titles : The man behing LTT and The woman behind LTT. That way Yvonne would get the recognition she deserves.
She looks at her bank account each month. That's her recognition
That sound proof apartment sounds like my dream… not for murdering but I love loud music and hate people so it would be fantastic to be able to blast my music without worrying about my neighbours coming round to complain. If I could afford to I’d sound proof my entire house so I can game while screaming at the top of my lungs and blast music at 3am.
and for kinky sex! Had an ex into cnc. We had to be very careful about how loud we'd get during scene's to not get the cops called on us. And it sorta ruins it a little bit. (well for her, not really for me its not my thing lol)
@@Wylie288 CNC machining does get really loud.
i would actually want a reverse sound proofed house because in urban areas there are so many loud sounds and they annoy me and disturb me so so much
Being in a relationship where everyone thinks that they are dating "out of their league" is so nice, so long as there's open communication especially about self doubts.
can we have some sort of public post session where everyone tells yvonne how much we all adore her and make linus print out all of the comments and present her with a book full of positive affirmation? because she totally deserves it.
Looking forward to 9 years of Yvonne Media Group :D
Linus, Another reason to have 51% is that you can be the final decider if you both ever came to any major impasse. If that is a good thing or a bad thing, it at least sets up a place where you can "pull rank" to make something happen. Now the marital consequences are your problem post pulling rank.
I was gonna say “pulling rank” on your wife feels like a recipe for disaster
Even then, it's *barely* pulling rank. A 49% stakeholder can *easily* sue to argue that the major controller is acting in not the best interest of the company.
It started from how much he would sell LMG for to how important his wife his. ❤️
I Love seeing the love between Yvonne & Linus, it's so refreshing to see such deep love & commitment.
Turns out not even for 100 milion he'd sell it
Linus: Half of her 49% would go to me.
*Family Court has entered the chat.*
Depends on the state. In Canada i think its more ironed out to actually split it. Unlike the US where 90% of the time is “fuck the man”
@@ByteSizedGamer I think I'm moving to Canada
@@Krashs6 idk at this point. Some courts split assets even if you arent married but have been together for a long time. Thats the issue, and ive heard canada might have those laws
Linus, consider offering bonds to us viewers. It's a good compromise between going public and self funding.
Honest to God if he offered corporate bonds with a decent interest rate that would match inflation I would definitely get interested.
@@michaelf.2449 I would be down.
@@michaelf.2449 well, if they Match Inflation it would be no brainer because you cannot Lose.
But how often do they Match 10% Inflation (or another number like that)?
@@cyjanek7818 ohhh I'm talking general inflation so 3%ish I know recent inflation isn't realistic
To be fair. If linus manages to retire with the company in good condition, a good marriage and still being friends with most of people at work, it's a small miracle. Being liked and being the / a boss to many is difficult in it self (if you also have to make hard decisions) 😅
From the outside I really admire his work very much. Oh and also three kids... Marriages disintegrated on this alone 🙈
Linus, you may be winning legally, but this is a kangaroo court
Yvonne's Public Persona (when in the rare instances we see her) Is Also Awesome.
Holy fuck I never realised Yvonne has literally funded the start of ltt.
We love Yvonne! More videos with Yvonne!
This actually aged well. Roughly a year later and he's turned down a $100m offer to sell and hired a CEO to manage the day-to-day but retained creative control. Pretty much stayed true to his word in this clip.
I mean, legally in a partnership it can't be 50/50. Someone has to be the majority shareholder. Even if it's 51/49.
starts with jeffery epstein, nice
I was kinda like a manager for my ex as she tried to start a streaming career. I did a ton of work behind the scenes, and she actually started doing pretty well, making enough to pay rent from stream. I can related to the “not having energy” to have a public presence thing.
Yvonne's part of the roast is my all-time favorite LTT clip. She's amazing.
At 10:32 I thought Linus was about to say that Yvonne and him are in an entanglement 🤣
Linus: "Never go to bed angry"
Luke: "Yeah!"
That man has definitely heard some early morning resolutions 🤣
would it be better to change the name from Linus media group to Sebastian media group because Linus and Yvonne's last name is the same so that it becomes more apparently joint
I thought Yvonne still used Ho as her last name?
@@kecuthbertson maybe. I dont know
I think the idea is its not just Linus or Yvonne, but rather everyone in the organisation so it should be a completely separate name
Nope the only reasonable move left is to name it. "Meta Media Group" go public and raise 45 gazillion dollars
@@kecuthbertson Ho Media Group sounds like a different sort of online media firm.
Linus this entire clip: Just keep digging! We going for the couch tonight!
The understated acceptance of his wifes worth shows a true love you dont often see...Im very impressed.
I love hearing about Linus the CEO and business owner rather than Linus the RUclips host. Keep it coming!
It’s odd but I still think of it as NCIX Tech Tips. The bright side is that branding must be pretty cheap right now, although it’ll be more tarnished than anything in Eldin Ring. 😅
I fricking love the dynamic between Linus and Luke.
I'd do it for Anthony
I'm actually very surprised that Linus and Yvonne didn't enter the prenuptial agreement, they look like the people that would have one
Company valuations are not just based on ebidta and a multiple based on the ebidta. If you have the ability to show how the said explosive growth is going to affect your business, have a substantial line of credit or working capital then your valuation will go up. The only question is are you willing to let go of the profit just as you might start making a lot more money.
Please just make it "LTT Tech Tips". When someone asks what the LTT stands for you can say "LTT Tech Tips"
Recursive acronyms FTW
THIS
Okay want to comment again because I finished the video. Linus, you are amazingly self aware, selfless (to some degree). It takes a strong person to remove yourself from the giant LTT has become, many CEOs and founders forget this and still want everything to revolve around them.
Man, watching you guys grow as a team for the past decade plus has been awesome. Kinda makes me want to move to Canada and apply for a job with you guys just to take a chance at maybe being in that kind of friendly tech-centric environment.
ey, random CGP Grey mention
Yvonne is awesome, I love seeing her put herself more into the videos. Your family is really sweet and I love seeing yall interact and work together. Idk if that's weird but its wholesome to see for us
one dollar, that's my final offer
Man Luke seems like a great guy to be in a relationship in. His SO scored
With the name thing, the yogscast did the same a few years back and they now have their umbrella corporation as forth floor creative and the yogscast (and its subsidiaries) under forth floor media.
in fairness, if something would happen to linus and his family... LMG could be Luke Media Group. it would be like Steve jobs to Tim cook.

Leading Tech Tips. Leading Media Group. That's a good name for what you guys do. You provide tips on industry leading tech. Also could imply that your tech tips are leading.
It shows what you guys do, while also allowing you guys to feel some healthy arrogance as a pick me when you need it.
Just imagine having a hard time on a project of some sort, and someone shouts "Come on guys, we are THE Leading Media Group, if anyone can do this, it's us!"
Now that is a morale booster.
0:17 only if Dennis buys LTT
The Milwaukee Bucks have two owners and they alternate who technically controls the team every year. They did win the NBA Finals last year so it does work.
You are a good writer.
I think LTT is a gem the deserves everyone's support and love for all they do so well
LinusRelationshipTips when?
Also, if you end up connecting with one of those discount organizations... could you end up having a Group Group Groupon?
It's probably an unpopular opinion. But instead of you investing in your own company with personal money. Set up a retained earnings account that would fund future projects. There is no one to answer to and no risk of being backed into a corner by an investor.
It's what they do 🤦♂️
I really wish to see Yvonne in more videos. i think we all know that she low key "runs the show" and i enjoyed seeing her in the new lab building video, you right when there is a sharp contrast to past Yvonne and present with energy levels in the videos! running a business and raising kids is not easy! mad probs.
I don’t know Canada estate tax laws but it makes sense to have the company split.
New Linus Relationship Tips channel when???
lol thats funny
My wife is awesome.. And has the same problem. But I found out, all women have this issue at some point. But knowing I have alot more flaws then my wife does.. She is perfect for me. And she fits to me like perfectly oiled gears in a amazing handbuild designer watch. It not just works.. There is no other gear that would fit.
9:25 that's just how you improve, by recognizing your flaws even if you do well by conventional standards. That's what MAKES a person so great lol she's constantly improving because she's a critic
how about Luke Umbrella Corp. because from the sounds of it he has been your counsellor for fucking decades
I really love Linus. He is not without flaws, but he knows them, and his heart is and has always been in the right place
LTT just wouldn't be it without Linus.
"objection, hearsay" says exactly what time period we were in. For anyone who doesn't know, there was heavy media coverage of a defamation lawsuit of two celebrities. Not gonna name it because you probably know.
New parent company. The Tech Collective!
Yvonne in the videos is always refreshing. The Yvonne, great job Ts at ltt store would go as fast as the screwdrivers. Lol
I think Linus' biggest problem is thinking he hasn't made it.
No matter how successful Linus Media Group is, there will always be another mountain to climb or ocean to cross.
Linus is sleeping on the couch tonight
Not even in a jokingly way... the name "Whonnock Media Group" would be sick ngl
Linus knowing who CGP Grey is and referencing them here makes me so happy for like no reason lmao
I was told that the ball price for a business is 15 times the gross annual revenue. I don’t know if it’s true or not. I don’t buy or sell businesses.
8:50 - I literally couldn't help but chuckle and actually say out loud "Oh my God" lol.
Good for you on making this work.
Personally I really become distanced from RUclipsrs trying to make this style of multiple people work.
I think branding away from your personal image is an option, but not required for growth. Most people just come for you.
I love that your whole company core are the best of friends and see each others stuff..
This sounds like a really chill therapy session lmao.
