The broadcasters probably have the aspect ratio wrong; it would not have been widescreen in 1982. I don't think RUclips's player has a fix, but if you download it, most video-playing software (such as VLC) has settings for aspect ratio. (It should be 4:3, not 16:9.)
(A year later) Yes, I've corrected it in VLC, and it is indeed the wrong aspect ratio. It _is_ rather a tight dress though - looks rather uncomfortable! Mimi was beautiful just as she is; she doesn't need to be tied up like that. I guess she OKed it though! Oh, and it's almost certainly the uploader who got it wrong; I've had a look at his home page, and many of fritz51339's videos are squashed.
