I’ve raised my normal girl for 8 years now 🥰 in the beginning my mind wasn’t set on breeding but as my family grew from one ball python to 4 balls and a king snake I’m super into hoping to breed. I’m so glad I found your video it helped a lot 💙
I would love some tips and tricks. I will share. 1. I've seen many videos where they are putting the male inside the bin and I noticed a SHED skin inside. Well I was told that skin is from a different male for 2 things. Activate the female and the male will scent the second male and activate and promotes copulation as he will fell in competition. Another way is putting 2 males together for 20 minutes and moving one of them to the female. Females are easier, rubbing the back of the tail with a little stick (really careful) and they will start moving their tails like crazy and misting pheromones.
Can NOT wait til you post your babies online for sale! My husband and I are getting our twin boys each a snake. We've been doing SO much research and love ALL your videos. We went to a local reptile store here in Oklahoma today and their knowledge and care for their snakes was very very sad. We love watching your videos and seeing your love for your snakes.
Haha had a similar issue with my first ball python. He was thought to be a female by the previous owner, then later on I got an actual female from someone that was just looking to regime her and my ex had surprised me with her. I didn't have an extra enclosure at the time so didn't think much about it co-habitating 2 females together.... And that's when I found out that my first ball python is actually a male. There was an accidental breeding but she laid 9 infertal eggs but was completely fine after that. 6 years later (early this august) she went off feeding for a few weeks and left her alone. Then near the end of September she laid 6 big eggs and 2 slugs. Sadly I wasn't prepared for this surprise clutch and lost it to mold growth.
Great video Chris I wish all this info was around 20+ years ago. Back then breeders were holding the key and not sharing information. I was lucky enough to have Kevin Mccurly as a mentor but even he wouldn't give up all the good stuff. And if he didn't know you or like you then your weren't getting anything out of him

Better off buying juveniles if you have no experience in breeding I believe , just because you would need the experience in husbandry and also raising and dealing with hatchling etc. Just my opinion, I bought just about every one as a juvenile , besides a Pastel Clown Het Pied Girl and a Chocolate Lesser Hypo Girl , just cause the rest of them are pretty big now .Im on my 2nd year of raising , we have some that are over 1500 but it’s better to wait for the next season.
Hey Chris, I had a quick question. Why is the fall the best season for the pythons to mate? If you don’t drop any temperatures how do they tell the difference? Can you trick them into mating at any other point of the year? Thank you
I absolutely agree with you I think 1,500 is too small to breed I think right around 2,200 a really comfortable spot where they can have the body and the weight and everything they need to be able to carry the eggs properly without having any complications

Just got a super pastel lesser leopard pinstripe male at the expo that was hosted near me, when I showed interest to the vendor that I was interested about breeding my female fire ball python with the super pastel, he gave a normal ball python with possible het for it having albino-clown. Can’t wait for this upcoming fall and hopefully at least my fire will be ready to breed

Albino is a recessive gene, which means that you can have two normals that carry the gene so you could get baby albinos. You'd be looking for a normal that's labeled "het albino" to be able to do this.
Hey chris. My male ball has RI, I was planning on breeding my collection but since one getting RI I've been told to keep him as a pet or euthanize him. My question is. Can you breed ball pythons after treated RI?
Am I understanding correctly..you pair the same male and female once a month for 4 months? I have an albino boy who I want to breed this year and I’m trying to figure this all out. Thanks so much for your videos Chris, they have been such a big help! I love Bobby so much!
Hey Chris, we are just starting this year with BPs and I'm struggling to recognize the ovulation. We paired our female on Nov 1, then again on December 1st, both with confirmed locks. She just shed on 12/24. I am uncertain if this is a pre-lay shed or if we should continue to pair her monthly..I guess Im afraid I will miss the ovulation to know when to stop pairing.
So my pythons just paired up, any suggestions on when to take the male out of females nest to feed? Also will the female eat after the first lock???? 9]25[2019
I put him right in with the next female. If I'm pairing one male with three females I'll pair up three days per female, nine days total, then give him a break to eat and rest a few days before I cycle him through again.
Let's just say that i was moving 2 days ago... And put both of my ball pythons in a smaller tank, while i moved their bigger enclosures to the new place. And 20 minutes later, they started mating... Now I'm doing my research in case my female ball python ends up pregnant. I thought i had 2 boys pied ball pythons.... Just to learn i had a male and a female 😭
I have one big pied female, not sure she is going to lay this year. Maybe next year I'll produce a Coral Glow pied. If you start with a pied female and a banana then you will get hets the first year. You can use a male banana het pied to breed back to your female pied and get visuals in a year or two.

Any eggs????
“I found out I paired two males and it was like world war 2 in there.” Haha! Oh my
Quick Q what will you bread ur albino with? Just wondering .. thanks in advance 😉
Probably my albino pied male.
so im confused i pair them in october but when do i stop cycling.
I usually stop in January or Feburary.
Any advice for a first time breeder like me?
Have patience LOL
Great😂 how long do I keep them paired up?
What's the easiest way 2 get my breeder male to go back on food after breeding season?
I'd try a small live rat.
How often do you offer food to your adults?
Usually once a week.
I have a question how can I get ahold of you. Please and thank you
So my pythons just paired up, any suggestions on when to take the male out of females nest to feed? Also will the female eat after the first lock???? 9]25[2019
Yes, the female will eat after the first lock, I'd put them together for about three days.
@@ChrisHardwickanimaladventures it's been a week sense they paired when should I expect eggs? I know its months away but ya 😁
How long do u wait before putting a male with another female after he has been with one female does he need a break or can go straight in with another
I put him right in with the next female. If I'm pairing one male with three females I'll pair up three days per female, nine days total, then give him a break to eat and rest a few days before I cycle him through again.
@@ChrisHardwickanimaladventures Thank u
Let's just say that i was moving 2 days ago... And put both of my ball pythons in a smaller tank, while i moved their bigger enclosures to the new place. And 20 minutes later, they started mating... Now I'm doing my research in case my female ball python ends up pregnant. I thought i had 2 boys pied ball pythons.... Just to learn i had a male and a female 😭
Great video, great minds think alike. I love pieds, how long to produce a banana pied? I have a pied female and a banana spider male.
I have one big pied female, not sure she is going to lay this year. Maybe next year I'll produce a Coral Glow pied. If you start with a pied female and a banana then you will get hets the first year. You can use a male banana het pied to breed back to your female pied and get visuals in a year or two.
Ive been studying about breeding ball pythons for 6 months and I dont feel like Im anywhere NEAR ready to start...
How do you know what size probe to use.
I watch other RUclips videos and figure it out.
Hope all is good. Do you have any Ball Pythons for sale? Both male and female?
Or do you have a specific website where you sell them if you do?
Yes, here's a link to my store. Nothing there right now, still waiting for hatchlings to mature a bit and some to hatch out! www.morphmarket.com/us/c/reptiles?store=cchardwick
Are you going to be at the show on the 18th and 19th in the springs
No, I'm just doing the shows in Denver, Reptilian Nation and Repticon.
