Saved into my "Snakes" playlist where I keep all the tips/tricks that I've learned over the last couple years of keeping bp's. Thank you for posting! As someone w/ her 1st clutch in the incubator and the 2nd due to drop on the 29th, I've been nothing short of amazed at just how helpful this reptile community is to each other as well as those like myself who are beginning their journey. Hugs my friend!!
Fantastic video buddy, you know about my heartache last season with my incubator spike so guys trust me listen to this video. That walk in incubator is amazing Paul. Look forward to seeing what you hatch this year.
Liam Rushton ah that’s really good to hear. A major part of me doing these videos is not only to show what I’m working with. But also to try to help all of the up and coming breeders. So I’m really pleased to hear that mate
Awesome video, I know it was a lot of work but thanks for making it. Easily the most comprehensive and easy to understand on the subject of breeding Ball Pythons.
Paul, well done, covered all the important things to advise people on a great way to breed Ball Pythons, a face for video, congratulations. A joy to watch even for an established breeder like myself - keep the videos coming 5⭐️
Wow! Your video is SO thorough and clear in each step of the breeding process and all the challenges and tips on how to deal with them. I've been watching so many videos on RUclips the last four months and yours is the one that has stood out well above a whole lot of others out there because of how meticulous your explanations are. Thank you so much. Looking forward to watching a lot more videos in your list.
fantastic video, as a potential first time breeder next season i'm trying to learn as much as possible, this was a lot more concise and informative than some of the other videos out there. looking forward to the next one!
Extremely good video pal plenty of good info for people to follow I’ve watch a lot of videos on the same subject and I think yours is definitely in the top few I would recommend to other breeders keep up the work 🐍🐍🐍👍
Amazing video, chock full of information I'm sure I'll need when I start breeding my snakes next year. I appreciate you making these video's for all of us!
Paul that's a fantastic video Bro..! Very detailed and has actually just answered a couple of questions for me.. thanks mate I definitely appreciate your time and help within this amazing hobby
Shame it gave you a headache mate but this is an amazingly informative video. I’m so glad I found your channel I have subscribed with all notifications and will be working my way through your other videos soon.
Thank you so much for this video, you did a great job and the information was excellent! I'm educating myself on breeding and this magically popped up in my feed, your video was perfect thanks again!
This is a great video! I couldnt have explained it any better. I've been watching several videos trying to get ideas on how to do a similar video. By far yours is one that I feel explained it the best. And I'll tell ya I've watched alot. You just got my sub here bc of that!!! Gonna checkout the rest of your playlist soon!
Great video Paul. Lots of useful stuff in there. Out here in the tropics we dont get the same low pressure systems you guys do and not much temperature variation either, but we do get annual monsoon season and rainy nights in the wet season is a good time to pair snakes.
Super helpful! How do you feel about commercial built incubators? Like the exo terra one, or should I make my own from a fridge? Trying to get everything together so I can try to breed this season and I’ve really not seen much about those incubators that are made special for snake eggs. Thanks so much!
l think they would be good for any considering the African soft furs have less fat in them. Really great information and l am sure many starting out are going to or should really appreciate this video and give some tips to even those already having had success breeding.
Brilliant video, thanks. I was wondering, if you go with a tight fitting lid, can the egg incubating box be closed for the whole of incubation, or do you need to let in some fresh air from time to time? Do the eggs respire much during incubation. Thanks
Wait. Incubator question. You keep that walk in incubator room at that temperature with those heaters? That one you had connected to the wall under the wire frame? That's awesome if that is keeping that incubator warm. Unless I missed something.
Red 357 yes mate that’s correct. They are oil filled radiators that are used for warming house hold rooms up. They are 1500w and are classed as the smaller type. They’ll not only warm that small room up to 88f to 89f. They’ll take it well over 150f. This is why I have a back up fan that’ll come on and extract air out if the rooms hits 90f.
Hey nice video! I have two questions if you have any advice or experience to share. How many times do you pair total? I’ve read the breeding season is around 6 months and if you’re pairing every 30days do you pair around 6 times total? And another question would be is there ever a point where you should stop offering food to the female/male? Or do they stop taking when they no long want food. As in like do you keep feeding the female until she lays eggs or do you stop at a certain period before that?
BPZWCC I pair just once per month until the female lays. I’ve had females go on to lay after just one pairing and others not go to lay after many. I don’t offer food once they’ve ovulated but I recently had a conversation with a friend that said hers ate even after an ovulation! So that’s a new one on me!
Must i wait until my male has shed, before introducing him to my female? He is having a bit of trouble with this shed...ive soaked and soaked and raised humidity etc...but so far no shed...i feel like the clock is ticking., and if its ok to do so,. Id like to pair them now.
Cameron Lee Leatherworks no you can breed them days before either shed although there’s loads of time left in the season (as most start in November till spring and even late summer. So let him shed and then pair them :)
My pastel mojave female and my male butter are breeding. What is my next step now? Im a first time breeder. When do I know to separate them from each other? For good? To allow her to do her part?
I just had 3 litters in my 1st tower of 6 bins , just built the 2nd one for my ASF , it’s gonna be a big help in conditioning, we only have 21 Pythons and a few other things .Ive only had the ASf for 3 weeks now
MrsWalls no I do not. And I use tight fitting lids. Some do, but they are probably using more than 1 to 1 mix of water with a light diffuser. So what I mean by that is they put way more water in and use a light diffuser to stop the eggs from touching the soaking wet vermiculite. I used to do it this way too. It works perfectly. But so does this way. Just mix 1 to 1 and you shouldn’t go wrong. I do 300g of water to 300g of vermiculite and have had 100% hatch out perfectly
What dates is it best to breed your ball pythons, like which day and which month? then how long do the eggs stay in the incubator? and is there a way to know whether your pair had bred even if you hadn't seen it? Also, very nice informative video straight to the point.
Is there a place that you get rack set ups like that? I just had one of my females randomly lay eggs without even the intention of breeding but I would like to get a rack set up for babies and eventually Rack set up for more adults like this set up. Please and thank you
You mentioned that the male will visit the female again 1 month after the first lock, did I understand right? Or is that only if there is no lock? I absolutely loved your video it was very thorough, and you kept my attention. Thank you.
So if after the 3 days of pairing them if there was no lock if your going to put the same pair together again how long to wait till you introduce the male again?
I’ve been out of the ball python game for years and recently just getting back into it, a temp drop was the big thing when I was breeding is that out dated info?
Great video bud. This was the first one I’ve watched so it’s off to watch others. I just bought my first pair today but the guy had them living together. I should separate them right? I hope you see this.
This may be a silly question. Breeders always use rack systems etc but would it at all be possible to successfully breed snakes that are in display cages?
JustJess it’s not a silly question. No question that needs to be asked is silly. Yes many people do breed in display Vivs. I know people who prefer this as they can mimic nature weather conditions easier with spray systems etc etc.
A few questions- I’ve always loved snakes and I’ve been looking for a side gig ish kind of thing that I can juggle with school and marching band. Is it sustainable? Like how much upkeep do they take? I could probably commit around an hour or two per day. Also, how much is a good amount to start up with? I’ve saved up around $500 but I can totally get more. Is it sustainable to buy feeders from the store rather than breeding them. How many snakes is a good amount to start with? I was thinking around 4-6. What should the ratio of male to female be?
Thanks for the info. My 1st year breading my 3 year old ball python named Fluffy. Question: Do you guys notice males trying to escape more during breading season?
Daniel Beaubien no mate I’m highly against it here in the UK. That’s due to our weather does it for us. So no need in cooling them and risk the snakes getting an IR. I believe the ground temperature where Ball Pythons dwell doesn’t cool much if at all even in the colder months.
I imagine all 15 takes were absolutely fine but I love that you are that passionate that you kept wanting to improve it 👊
Holden Balls cheers mate I appreciate that
Another well presented video full of “to the point” information. Keep up the excellent work, a credit to the hobby.
Is it possible to have an infertile male ball python? If yes, how would you know?
Saved into my "Snakes" playlist where I keep all the tips/tricks that I've learned over the last couple years of keeping bp's. Thank you for posting! Appalachian Pythons angela_nichol78 thanks a lot and I agree. This community is amazing.
This is my favorite video on breeding ball pythons so far! Great info and straight to the point! Thank you!
Fantastic video buddy, you know about my heartache last season with my incubator spike so guys trust me listen to this video. That walk in incubator is amazing Paul. Look forward to seeing what you hatch this year.
Iv just had my first ever clutch. Been watching ur videos since beginning and it’s helped me to deal with everything.
Liam Rushton ah that’s really good to hear. A major part of me doing these videos is not only to show what I’m working with. But also to try to help all of the up and coming breeders. So I’m really pleased to hear that mate
Really appreciate the time and effort u give to help us. Makes a massive difference having a reference on every aspect of the hobby to look back at.
Liam Rushton congratulations on your first ball python clutch! I hope you have some really rare and amazing snakes come out of it.
Thankyou Paul, I'll hopefully start breeding this winter and your channels like a goldmine! Full of useful vids, clear and simple. One of the best!
Awesome video, I know it was a lot of work but thanks for making it. Easily the most comprehensive and easy to understand on the subject of breeding Ball Pythons.
Great tips brother!! your doing big things over there!! I love your animals!!

Good job Paul.. Hatched one clutch in June and have another clutch in T 32c.. Also waiting on a Fire to lay

Thanks for the video, this is my first season with BP breeding ! Got a 1.0 Banana (proven) and a 0.1 female. This was really helpful ! Thanks!

Tango Flaps 1 yes mate you can set the eggs up and never open the tub until they all hatch. But I always find my self checking on the eggs :)
Great video here ! Just wondering do you change the temp atall or just leave the rack the same ?
Awesome video mate keep them coming 👍
Great vid and so informative loved it.
Great video mate ...well put together 😊👍
T.A Exotics Thanks matey
THANKS, PAUL! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!
Blessed Are You Who Part Knowledge.

Quality video, great advice throughout...really clear...

Great info put out there mate. Do you use co2 for euthanasia if the multis. Breeding my own multis is something I’m looking to get into.
SimpsonZoe1703 thanks a lot mate. Yea I do :)
Great video Paul, I may have to nick the fans over the heater idea :D
Good video. How do you stop water from condensing on the lid of a tub and dripping on the eggs
Ben Ogden cheers mate. Honestly I don’t. Never had an issue with that. Water droplets fall on the eggs but roll off. So it’s never been an issue
Thanks again for the great vid and info!
Hey nice video!

Brilliant video! Super informative!
Yet another great video
Excellent information spot on
snakes are so beautiful i wish everyone had the same view

My pastel mojave female and my male butter are breeding. What is my next step now? Im a first time breeder. When do I know to separate them from each other? For good? To allow her to do her part?
Great video this mate!
very sophisticated man
So once you’ve seen a lock how long do they last and do you take the male out as soon as you see they’ve let go?
I just had 3 litters in my 1st tower of 6 bins , just built the 2nd one for my ASF , it’s gonna be a big help in conditioning, we only have 21 Pythons and a few other things .Ive only had the ASf for 3 weeks now
Also - if your incubating in tubs do you pierce holes in it so there is oxygen getting in?
MrsWalls no I do not. And I use tight fitting lids. Some do, but they are probably using more than 1 to 1 mix of water with a light diffuser. @@urbanconstrictors. oh aye, i will have to re watch it again then😂

Hi i wont to know aput follicles when it will grow after the lock or before
So say I get a female on Christmas Day or a few days after, when is the soonest time I can pair her?
Quick question how much successful locks do you get until you stop breeding the male to the female.??...
Perfect dude. Thanks!
What kind tubs did you use for this video?
once you get them to lock. how long do you leave the male with the female?
Dan Carlisle until he un-locks. Then take him out. Then 1 month later put him back in with that same female and repeat
does a lock gaurentee eggs? my male locked up with both of my females in early june. however, im not sure if it was successful
missippimudd10 no mate it most definitely doesn’t
Solid video
Thank you!
Awesome video!!
Do you need a license to breed ball pythons in California?
deadlysin91 thank you :) sadly I don’t know for sure as I’m from the U.K. but I don’t think so....
@@urbanconstrictors. I will look into it (: thank you for replying 😊
Alot of helpful info!
Will the females or males hart one another if the don't want to breed?
