I just paired my 1.1 in late June and they have locked that I’ve seen 7 times now my boy takes food breaks but not for long but he hasn’t locked since August 8th and my girl definitely building but she still eats and I’ve seen her do the tail wagging not him lol
would you help me out with this one question my female only wants to flee when I open her tub and she has locked with a male now for three days quick question how soon after they are separated are they offered food? both male and female?
Hot spot is right about 90 (ok s or minus one or two from top to bottom). Room is usually mid 70s or so. Just a little too warm for my taste, and they are happy. Really no need to alter temps, so I don't

It is coconut. It is reptile prime, but I have been working with it since it was called herptopia. It is a coconut base. We carry it in our store in Manhattan, the also have a direct website I believe.
Great video, very helpful, I'm currently breeding my female butter to my male phantom pinstripe,I want to go down the phantom line,my problem is I can't really feel any thing in my female, she's a big girl,in around 3000g and love's her food,I put them together every 3rd Saturday,they have locked everytime,5 times so far and lock up for two days a go,my issue is she's still eating rats,so question is do you think I'll have baby snake's this year, sorry for the long message
I put my Cinnamon Lesser male,in with my Bel female, and they'll cuddle, but just will not breed, or I'm just not seeing them lock, but that,I highly doubt,because I keep checking, and he isn't known to be a quickie kinda guy, he's been known to lock for 4 to 5 days, and I've double checked her sex, just to make sure,but those two won't do anything😢 Would an enchi fire be ok to put in with her, I mean, will they still produce a good amount of BEL's ??
@@OlympusReptiles she's a Mojave BEL and the male is a Fire Enchi, I put a Cinnamon Lesser in with her, but she has zero interest in him, so I thought maybe try a Fire Enchi male.
@@kattmoore941 right, buy fire can make black eyed lucy. lesser, mojo, russo, etc can make a blue eyed lucy. fire to that combo won't make a bel of any kind, but would get fire enchi mojo possibly.
How many locks would u wanna see and how many days would u typically wanna leave a male with a female or how many times should I put the male and hope for lock
I want at least three. I don't have a "too many". Typically I leave from Saturday to Wednesday. Gives em a day off before feeding, feeding day, day off after.
From My own breeding experience = a lot of over thinking , a lot of nights laying in bed second guessing my self, then a lot of relief & feeling goofy for stressing when I no Iv done it best possible way I can. 1st clutch seem like it took forever 😂
I've got 11 ball pythons and this is our first year pairing. Only two females big enough, 1 super russo female and the other is double het albino pied. The Russo has never bred and we paired with a banana this year because our bamboo male is too tiny. The double het is proven and has had both in a clutch before, so we put our het pied male with her to prove him out. He's only 650g and doesn't seem to know how to do his job yet, but we are holding in hope he will figure it out 🤣 We had so many questions that Google was not answering, thank you for this video!

I have 7 but have never tried to breed so I am inexperienced. But I was given a large female that I believe is possibly gravid. She is very swollen and also getting ready to shed. Also not interested in food.
I have a male who hasn't eaten in about 2 months, he has only lost around 25g, but I just feel like he is staring to look thin. I tried small meals, pre-killed, and mice(can't get asf in cali). Also when I have him in his own tub and open it for maintenance or to check on him, he tried to shoot out and seems to be looking for females. Basically he is in full blown breed mode. He lives in the same rack as the females and won't fit in my other rack cause he's too big. I'm only.using him for.2 females and 1 doesn't seem ready and the other ovulated. Should I move him to a different room for a month? I just don't think he'll be able to focus on eating. Also I sent you a message on patron about getting a discord invite, I feel I have a bunch of question that I can find help with in the discord
As far as the snake goes, I have never moved to a different room but it might work pretty well. If I was getting concerned, and had a spot I would definitely try it!

if you can pop a male, and get a sperm plug, wipe it down the females back. I know kind of gross. Then put the male in there.

Throw a shed from a different male in with the double het when you put the little het pied in there. Often helps.

I don't think you need an invite. I think it should work through patreon, or be automatic. If not let me know, Anna is the one who fixes all that.

Seems like I get more excited than some of my males🤪🤷🏽♀️😆🤣 I probably check them too much, I mark the drawers, for each date that they're locked.😂😂
I also keep paper records instead of using apps or excel sheets lol
I find all my snakes lock for at least 24 hrs. A few that go 48 +
