This couldn’t come at a better time!! I’m doing English lit next year and I got a list of books that I’m likely to be studying which I’m gonna read over Summer - also it feel SOOO refreshing to hear someone saying they like to read because so many people around me can’t stand it!!
Me too! im doing AS englit btw:)
Lee Yan Xing Oh cool!! Do you know which books you’re gonna be studying? x
Alice McNally I have a list of what I might be studying but I don’t know which specific ones😶
bel Rose What year are you in?? I guess you could always have a little look at a couple of them just for enjoyment purposes anyway and if it turns out you’re not studying one that you read? Ah well, I’d say the more you read the better anyway!☺️
we stan a queen.
you. are. the. cutest. xxx
Xxx?😂🤦♀️
Thnx for helping..
Jade! You've actually come so far, can't say how proud I am!

English is NOT my forte. So I need all the help I can get. 📚😭
You have been such a huge source of motivation for me. You make me feel like I can truly accomplish things - thank you!!! ❣️
I agree with all your tips, especially the Context tip! Researching about the author, the book and the era it was written in is SO SO helpful for studying a book!
congrats on the sponsor Jade!!! Also thank you so much for the video it's so so helpful:)
I love how organised your studying tips are. I'm not studying classics or English literature but I still really enjoyed the video.
I really appreciate this, thank you so much! x
Just finished my English literature GCSE and have no intention of studying it at A level, but still watching this because it’s Jade😂❤️
This made me laugh! 😂 You're so lovely! x
SAME
Wow it's so cooled that this is sponsored by penguin! I love reading, especially Classics, but I'm pretty bad when it comes to reading them for school I live in America so I don't take the same type of tests you do, but this was still really helpful for my own english classes. Thanks for this video
I just started year 7 this year and we’re finally reading some classics! So thanks so much for this!! ❤️❤️
Hey Jade! It's a shame that I'd already taken my English exam a day BEFORE you uploaded this, it is so useful ( like all of your other vids)!!!
Had my last exam today so yayyyyy!
BTW, I loved to see your exam journey and how you persevered till the end. You're one of my biggest inspirations ever. There's so much more to say but I can't find the words to thank you enough for your awesome content.

Yessss, Jadeeeee! You´re back and better than ever! And you are so close to 200k! I can´t believe you´ve grown so fast... you deserve it so much, though. Congrats!
Wooooo we're trying 💁♀️😉 thank you so much for all your love and support! It really is MAD to think I'm nearly at 200k woahhh!! x
Love this video! I definitely agree that reading for fun first helps to clarify the plot and relationships between characters in a novel.
YESSS! I need to reteach myself how to annotate books... preferably before I sit the ELAT! 😅 Thank you Jade! Also - YES PENGUIN!
I'm studying Great Gatsby, Remains of the Day, and Things Fall Apart for IB English Lang and Lit. I love Things Fall Apart; I haven't started Remains of the Day yet; and I love the language of Gatsby, but I find it a lot to take on at the moment.
This is one of the best videos I have ever watched!!! I love you so much you inspire me to be my best self every day❤️
Thank you Jade for this video ! As a french student, it really helped me to study my books for uni next year. You speak very well, I can really understand you ! xx

JADE! I am taking English at college and I really needed this. Lol this is why you are my favourite RUclipsr. Thank you for this, it is very helpful.

Omg Frankenstein was on my list to read this summer! This edition looks awesome
Yessss you NEED to read it! I've read it more times than I count, and every time I do, I still find new things! I wish I'd had this edition in the past though haha x
Another Unjaded Jade video? I am BLESSED ☺️☺️☺️ Tysm 💛x
Layla, seeing your comments always makes me smile! x
Hey Jade, I’m studying English lit at GCSE at the moment and I found this video very helpful so thank you ❤️
Today I was actually given some modern classics to read and study over the summer to prepare for year 12, you literally uploaded this at the perfect time!
Needed this so much. Perfect timing!!!!
Awhh I'm honestly SO glad to hear it! ☺️ x
wonderful video Jade xx you have inspired me to read 'Great Expectations' over the summer ☺ xx
Just what I needed right now! Going to try to read more classics this summer, so this will be very helpful! ❤
All fabulous advice! British 19th Century lit was my major and specialty in college and as a professor. If you have not seen it yet, watch the new movie Mary Shelley. Such an interesting peek into her life that makes you crave for more! And reread those classics too. Your personal approach and experience differs as you age and experience things!
I’ve always loved English Lit and am doing next year for A level. However I was intimidated by the jump in classic analysis so thank you for this video. 💚
Great and very helpful video ! Thank you Jade ❤️
YESS I NEEDED THIS SO MUCH!!
Thank you Jade! your videos are always very helpful
Needed this so much because I’m rubbish at English and was watching your English essay which was sooo helpful
Thank you
Hi Jade! I did my GCSEs not long ago and I wanted you to know the results were unexpected! I’ve been watching your videos for over a year now and I wasn’t confident with myself when I did the exams. I watch your videos because you motivate me so much and i got A’s for my English language and English Literature! I just want to say thank you so much and I know they aren’t A* but I did the best. Thank you so so much. Keep doing what you do. I actually expected a C for my eng lit 😭😭😭 aaaAAA❤️
This was so useful, thank you ! What you said about watching the movie etc. is so true, one of my teachers actually had us watch the movie of a Shakespeare play first in order to see the text in the form of how it would have been for those in the time period before we went on to study it. XX
This came at a great time! I'll be self studying English Literature A-Level next year (due to illness) and any and all tips are much appreciated! Thank you, Jade. :)
Awhh bless you, GOOD LUCK! 💛 thank you for the kind words! x
I am not going to be studying English literature anymore but it was so helpful as I also love reading! My reading resolution for 2018 was to read more classics and your tips will certainly help me enjoy and learn more!! Thanks and congrats for being sponsored by penguin!!!

I have been trying to make my book review videos more interesting and nuanced since i am graduating in the field of microbiology so this video really helps. Thank you for that.
This is such a useful video! I absolutely love to read, but when it comes to actually having to study it very well, I still haven't quite found the right way yet. So thank you so much for these tips. :)
Don’t even study this but you always do a good job of making a good video! Studying my AAT at the moment and these videos help no matter what subject they are!
I just finished my first year at university and i'm spending most of my time reading this summer, could you do a video maybe talking about some of your favorite books? Love your videos!x
I needed this!
This was so helpful❤️ love your channel
Yayy!! Loved the video!!
You literally motivate me to be productive 🌟🌟🌟
This is so sweet, thank you! ☺️ Good luck with everything! x
I just discovered your channel and I really love it
this is so insanely helpful THANK YOU XXX
Frankenstein was one of my favorites in my AP English Lit class back in high school! It really was an easy going book & the drama was juicy if we consider Shelley was from an era way back when lol she was definitely a writer ahead of her time!! 🤩
Now this is brilliant! In two days i have my English literature exams! Thank you!!😄💕
Loved watching your video! Grate advice! Xx
I decided for myself to read a classic every other book that I read to improve my knowledge and to seem smarter and accomplished in conversations😁 it always takes me way longer to get through them but I think it is really good for me to go through with it. The only book I struggled with so far was Emma because it repeats itself so often. At the moment I am reading pride and prejudice for the second time, but this time in English and not in German to furthermore improve my language
*Puts down everything*
I did English Combined (Lang & Lit) for A level, I’ve just finished it! I studied The Great Gatsby which I absolutely loved, although the exam paper wasn’t so great (tricky/narrow questions). This video was really comprehensive and yes girl get that coinnn! Everyone loves Penguin. I also did Othello but I absolutely hated it unfortunately!
That edition is beautiful!!
Omgggg Jaaaaaadeeee ilyyyyyyyy
My English class is studying The Great Gatsby next term and we have to read it over the holidays. This is really helpful thank you 🙏
Thank you so much! This will help for sure!!
Great tips looking forward to u reaching 200k subscribers u truly deserve it and much more thank u for all the support u shown us in everyone of your videos u truly are an inspiration ❤💙💚💛🧡💜🖤

You're such an inspirational and motivational person!🌻 P.S. i have the same edition of The Great Gatsby! :)
Honestly this was so helpful, you are such a blessing and I must say your classmates are the luckiest to have someone so caring and mindful of others. MUCH LOVE JADE ALL THE WAY FROM AFRICA
Latoya Wiss where in Africa you from x
aww such a helpful video ! THANKSSSS !!!
I love you so much jade, you’re so inspiring and I hope you know it:)
Classic novels? I love classic novels ❤❤❤ "Pride and Prejudice"of Jane Austen and "Wuthering Heights" of Emily Brontë are my favourite but I like alot of Shakespeare and Arthur Conan Doyle too📓📓
About Wuthering Heights, I got really confused because of Catherine and Cathy and a little confused about Harrison 😳it's a complicate book just because of the characters.
Love u alot Jade 💕
I learnt a lot in this video. This is so knowledgable
I’ve just had my English Lit mock on Frankenstein today but at least I can put these tips to use next year! And we’re doing Gatsby for our coursework!

Yay! This is such great advice! Definitely going to be using these tips😊 studying The Picture of Dorian Gray atm.
I’m just recently getting into classics and the first book that I chose is Pride and Prejudice! I want to study into literature for fun but I don’t have classes for it, sadly. But I’ll try my best to do it on my own. So thank you so much for this, Jade!❤️
OMG Thanks Jade, I'm struggling so much in English and I'm aiming for an A or A* at GCSE
im so devastated because i cant do my best for business test today and your vid just came at the right time. haaaaa i love you Jadeeee
Love you so much this was great xxxx
i love frankenstein so much and this is so helpful some teachers have given similar tips! starting A Level next year and we're studying The Great Gatsby and Othello. i think reading Othello will be super hard to read 'for fun' but the school are offering a discounted trip to see it on stage!! i'm really excited to get stuck in
