I'm a recent subscriber, and I enjoy your reactions! Root Beer was a concoction created during a 19th century World's Fair; the vendor was having a devil of a time trying to sell it as "Root Tea." He changed the name to root beer and it sold like crazy. I understand lots of people from the UK think it tastes like something a dentist would have you swish your mouth with during a treatment! A root beer float is a summer treasure here in the U.S., we have a local drive-in here in Joliet, very Old School, very old-fashioned, with car-hop waitresses just like the old days. A root beer float is served in a giant glass mug, fresh out of the freezer, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and drowned in root beer, served with a straw and a spoon. Ice actually forms on the glass mug during the summer heat. BTW, the car on your can of root beer is a Hudson, it looks to be a caricature of a 1952 model. Hudson is a revered make here, a company run by engineers and thinkers, not bean counters. Hudsons were sold in England, and were even given custom-built bodies by Brough Superior and sold as Railtons. Keep posting, you're fun to watch! Greetings from George of Illinois.

Luke Bryan "What Makes You Country" is a good one. Luke's take is country music can appeal to anyone in their own way, no exclusion necessary. He also has a warm hearted song "Most People Are Good" which is uplifting.
Have you heard of sarsaparilla? It is an old school American drink, sort of root beer's ancestor. You'll hear it mentioned in old western movies sometimes. Hard to find even in the US these days.

My mom worked at the local A & W Rootbeer Stand back in the 60's when I was a youngster....
Eoot beer is fantastic. I used to make a tea from the sasafrass tree roots that root beer is copied from. The root itself was banned for decades as a carcenagen. I am still here. I still love the taste.

I make a Root Beer Float Cake. An older lady i worked with back in the 90's gave me the recipe. I have people who call me up randomly to order a cake. It's tasty but not my favorite. In the South (in America), we have a 14-18 thin layer, homemade chocolate cake. That's my favorite.
Love root beer!! Interesting fact, root beer is made from the extract of sassafras root. Here in the south my parents and grandparents used to make sassafras tea by boiling the root of the sassafras tree. It smells wonderful, just like root beer! And you’ve gotta try a root beer float!

Barq's and A& W root beer with vanilla ice cream here in the southeast U.S. Here in Tennessee we also do Coca Cola and vanilla ice cream. They are root beer floats and coke floats and they are awesome!
Love root beer here on the gulf coast of Alabama. Names of a few of our favorite Root Beers: A&W, Barq's, IBC, Abita, Steward's, MUG. Try to buy in glass bottles first then aluminum cans and last plastic bottles. Chill Root Beer in glass bottles and cans then drink straight from them for best taste,

Have you heard Eddie Van Halens son Wolfgang has an album out? It's called Mammoth WVHand I love it all! If you get a chance at least the song Distance. It's a tribute to his dad Eddie Van Halen. The video I watched was basically a home movie of him growing up with Edie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli. He plays all the instruments and does all the vocals. His dad would be so proud if he were still alive!

Thanks to channels and videos like yours, a lot more people are opening their eyes, hearts, and ears too country music and realizing that country tells a lot of beautiful stories. Some fun like this one, but a lot are beautiful stories! I’ve always know and loved country, and I got sick of people saying “country is nothing but my dogs dead or my hearts broke” and stuff like that.
