My Town Kings Park - Drone Flight plus Kings Park Psychiatric Center

I find it absolutely amazing that this beautiful coastal town was built around the massive 11,000 patient capacity Kings Park Psychiatric Center, which employed most of the town at its peak. The Kings Park Psych Center closed its doors in 1996. Although abandoned, it still is a Long Island relic and living museum piece of early 20th century psychiatric treatment.

I grew up in that little hamlet. Best childhood into adulthood experiences one can imagine, KPPH included. 50's - 80's. It gave me a BFF of over 60 years & many other lifelong friends. Not many places loved as much by so many who lived there. From Ft. Salonga to the Smithtown & Commack borders, we were all family. Still are. Thank you.
