Haterzzz will say the thumbnail is photoshopped
and poorly at that 😂
Total fixer upper mostly electrical 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
That looked what the first prize houses of Sorteo Tec in Monterrey look like.
How much is the rent in dollars?
@@kinetickennons You must have got a good deal on the place... Can you say around how much?
We rented a 2 story house in Chapala several years ago. Similar to this place. Very RUSTICO and very "homemade". No furniture, no light bulbs, no fixtures, etc. We lived there 8 years, and enjoyed it immensely. Excellent location. We started with a mattress, in 3 days, a refri, then in a week, a stove. We bought plastic table and 4 chairs, used 2 in the sala. Then slowly, added a few things (fixtures). We did not get in a rush, but we got the basic necessities first. In a year, we found a sofa set that was new, but rustico and nice and cheap. We have had it for 14 years and still going strong in another house. Got a washer in about the first month. We bought appliances that were "basic" nothing fancy and they served us very well. Don't get in a hurry, enjoy life, and your place will come together for you in the way you can enjoy living there. Remember, you are not fixing it up for anyone except yourselves, so enjoy, Bedroom, kitchen, bath. Top priorities. You got this !!!
As soon they or anyone makes it perfect la dueña se vender.
In Mexico go high end rental and never look back
@@jack_cecil they had 8 years in this spot apparently. 👍🏼
You guys need to do a series on how to stay physically fit in Puerto Vallarta. The food and drinks are too good. We walked everywhere when we were there for a month and I still gained a couple pounds. But seriously, good luck with your new home!
Yes! I need a gym recommendation
Funny enough, I was in PV for a month expecting to gain weight eating all the good food and drinking every single day. I come back home and end up losing 7lbs. All the steep hills and walking on the beach helped.
I always come back weighing less - combo of walking those hills and all the spicy foods messing up my stomach, which I love. Great running on the beach & Malecon too!
Get some memory foam, one long piece, and sew a cover. You can just get a bedsheet, or a cheap chamois/fleece blanket. Cut out the corners on the side, and sew the corners. Under the foam, just wrap it, or add safety pins, etc. Easy to take out and clean too.
You can even staple gun the fabric around foam, maybe add a wood board underneath the foam slab first, then staple away! ,
Seems like the landlord should be responsible for some of the fix ups like the nonworking toilet, and the electrical outlets. The other things like painting, adding stove, fridge, mirror, plants etc.will be fun. You'll get to make the house your own! Congrats!
Si es a cuenta de renta, esta muy bien!
renting is different in mexico. all of those things are reflected in the rent price
this is sooo common in mexico. we moved into a nice place and there were only bare bulbs hanging from electrical cord from the ceiling. We had an electrician come and install all the fixtures we bought AND we will take them with us!
Hi guys, if you can wait until October, I can help ;-) I know you can't but my family and I are excited to move BACK to PV and to have to deal with all these off the regular tyeps of problems ..... Hang in there guys... its part of the journey ...
Congratulations! …..I think?? The place looks like you have enough room…..but my advice is befriend a local handyman with lots of electrical experience! Get surge protectors for everything electric. I’m moving back to PV next April but I wish I was there to help you now! I’m good at decorating on a budget! Good luck!
The price for cushions is crazy!! You can buy a living room set for that price
The untold truth. If your a gringo everything is double or triple.
@@lingchang7355 but is the same in U.S.A. everything is very crazy price for a furniture , a nice bet you pay more than 3,000 dollars .
@@karolfernandez8427 For what? 'Cushions'?? Or a living room set?
We don’t know the whole story, may be it is very high quality. It’s all about the details, plus try to get anything custom make here in the states $$$$$$
I’m retired in Cuenca, Ecuador and the cost of hand made furniture here is very inexpensive.
Congrats on the new rental!. It'll take time to get it going. I look forward to daily videos on the progress! Just focus on one thing per day. No rush. There's just no rush. Get the most important thing fixed (shower, mirror) whatever your priority is. We're all with you on this. 💯💯😍👍👍👍
lol. Around 7:00, when they're saying "we need this, we need that, we need this" and I'm thinking "y'all need a contractor. or two"
Wow, that’s quite the project. I hope you got a break on the rent. You’ll have to keep us updated on your progress
Congratulations! I am one of the curious: How much is the rent and what does it include? In what neighbourhood? Is it a house or apartment? Do we get to see the outside? Before you buy any appliances, make sure to visit Tio Sam's up towards the airport. There we got a really nice fridge and get this...... dishwasher! After 12 winters in Vallarta, no more washing dishes! The fridge and dishwasher were cheaper than we could have bought the fridge alone for up here in Canada. Make sure to do a video series on "Shopping for your home stuff." "Comprendo cosas para tu casa"
The start of the video with the music was funny.Looks like a great space! Have fun guys.
Ask your friends at the Gym to recommend an electrician and a place have the cushions made. Some stores that sell material provide service to make your curtains at a very reasonable price. They may recommend someone to make the cushions.
You will have a very nice appartment.
They sell foam at the fabric shops, buy the foam and some sarapes to cover them and you'll be good to go sofa wise.
finally got it lol sarapes are like a blanket
Exactly
Love the apartment! Even with all those fixes, it is a very nice looking apartment, has character love the door ways having those arcos 😍 Seems very spacious too!
Congrats on the new place ! Looking forward to seeing the progress as you go ❤️
Congratulations on your new home. You guys have come a long way!!! Hope you enjoy giving it a "lift" and show us later how it all turned out; that would be exciting! ♥
Congrats on your new place, one room at a time it will be awesome. Keep reaching for your goals life is beautiful , and always positive attitude on everything. Thanks for sharing.
I’m pretty sure there is better apartments than that in Puerto Vallarta, we just need to start buying that coffee…. Lol
Exactly I’m with you !!! =)
Looks pretty rough. First- toilet seats! Some electrical & paint next, then a plumber! Hope it works out.
What a wonderful thread. Thanks for the view,
Buen Camino
That apartment has good potential...
1) Open Floor looks spacious
2) High Vault Ceilings,
More Natural Light
3) Clean Up & Cosmetics is
The Easier Part...I See a
Very good looking
Apartment Once it's Done
4) The Area Would Be The
Only Issue, If It's Good
Then It's A Plus, But If Not
Then One May Ask, Is It
Worth It???
Good Luck!!!
Congrats on the new forever 1st home. You may want to consider building a platform so you are comfortable in the kitchen while you are prepping, mixing etc...So proud of you! This home has so much potential!!!
Good for you! it will be great and you will love it, can't wait for the video 3 or six months later! yall got this!
I have been in homes like that - always amused me because one owner also owns a hardware store. For storage in the bathroom maybe those plastic drawer sets or stackable plastic bins - just at least to help be organized. Good luck!
Thank you for the experience. Even when I was born an lived in Mexico in about 5 years we are planning to move back ( to live) and your experience are teaching us to look the glass however you think is most positive an make the best of the situation. MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS, DON GOYO Y LA GUERA YOU ARE AWESOME!
You guys inspire my 2018 trip to puerto Vallarta now I day dream about moving there almost every day
Congratulations 🍾. I’m so happy for you two. The place is adorable and I can see how excited you both are about it. Take your time and enjoy putting your touch on the place.
Under the bathroom sink place large weaved baskets for laundry. Get foam mattress and an electric turkey carver knife. Cut your own foam and fold white sheets, curtains or any material over top. Get some throw pillows and you got an affordable solution. White sheets are nice, because, you can just toss in the wash with bleach. I have 3 kids and I have white bedding on all beds for minimal clean look. Congrats guys. I just subscribed😁😁
2003 I had a CEE-MENT sofa at my apt in Tepic, Nayarit. Pretty, vinyl, custom-made cushions were 2% softer than actual concrete. Otherwise very nice place!
Lol. Loved the first part with all the electrical lines! 🤣
Congratulations guys.
The music at the beginning of the video when you're showing the current state of the place is too funny!! 😂😂
We wish you well with this new place.
It may be time to hire a mexican electrician, plumber & painter. They can do it all cheaply in a week's time. I recommend your supervision on their works. That place owns potential beauty !
Could we ask how much is the rent? Did you get the price you wanted? Also when you fix the place up it will be great!
Im mexican and Im used to renting spaces this bare, it can be a bit cheaper, for the closet I would install shelves or at least one long one down for putting baskets with your underwear and stuff, and just buy wood planks its way cheaper than finished shelving, and you can buy a shower curtain rod, put a sheet like a curtain there, its way cheaper than buying made curtains, also under the bathroom sink you can put a long shelf, for your toilet paper and stuff and cover with a fabric curtain, I would recommend doing your own curtains since you have seen having them made here can be really expensive and its a fairly easy thing even for someone like me, also just buy foam and fabric for the seats, they are way crazy for that pricing. Lovely place guys! Im in nuevo vallarta and sometimes go to Puerto so maybe I´ll stumble into you someday! :)
We love watching you guys and are proud you’re living your way!
Good luck to you guys with the new house Chris from Toronto🇨🇦🇵🇱
Your new place has a lot of potential. Looking forward to watch as you transform it into your own.
a tension rod and cut Mexican cloth for under the bathroom sink and the "walk-in" closet. It will be such a cute place once you all put your personality in it.
Excelente!!! No importa cómo esté, si uds están contentos y felices!!!! Saludos fraternos desde Acapulco.
OK ! so, you kids are THE inspiration for every step we wish to take as we put together our plan to move to PV for full year beginning on Christmas Day of 2023! Your vids are fun, chock full of good info and you make everything make sense. BIG Q: SO, any solid advice for securing our 180 days, then the next 180 days would be most appreciated. We know to have our airline tickets w the departure date to show at immigration and to have the same available for our return. Other than that basic requirement ?.... anything at all to make us more confident and not to be biting our nails over these next long month would be a Godsend and most appreciated!! Gracias! And, We do hope we can cross paths when we are in PV next year!! ROCKY N DAVE from Memphis TN :)
Lots of projects for you guys. You can molde that place your way 💪
So excited for you two and can't wait to watch the videos on how you guys fix it up. Someone below mentioned Hillary's arms and I was mentioning to my husband on a previous video how buff Hillary's arms are getting, looking great!!! I love PV and hope to come for 6 weeks this winter to escape the Canadian winter for awhile. Take care you two!!
Is beautiful. I love your new place.
Be great if you guys started a series on fixing up your place and dealing with contractors in Mexico and also Do it yourself projects.
You two crack me up! I laughed out loud so many times in this video. Hillary, your arms are looking really buff. Must be from moving all those boxes;-) Hope we can get over your way and this winter and see your new casa in person.
I see lots of baskets in your future. Could you get patio cushions or a futon mattress for your benches? Second bathroom can become a storage area for now. Top priority is electrical and a hot plate potable burner.
If this was my life - this video would end up as exhibit A at my divorce trial. :) In all seriousness, my biggest concern would be busting my butt and bank to make the place habitable and then getting an eviction notice from the landlord. I sincerely hope that this will not be the case for you. I would be interested to hear about the rental process. Good luck in your new casa!
You're not in a rush, so just live on love and fix up the place a little at a time!
This is a great fixer upper, but it has the feel of Mexico, I love the tile of the sink in the bathroom, it's beautiful. Keep us updated I know it will turn out beautiful!
Loved this video. I laughed so much. You’re the cutest young couple…so easy going. The good news is that everyday you’ll wake up feeling fresh and ready to tackle your to do list. Things won’t always go as planned( especially in Mexico) but day by day you’ll get things accomplished and before you know it you’ll be sitting pretty….on cushions
Congratulations 👏. Best wishes from California. My last visit to PV was in 2001. Just right before 911.
I could feel your excitement of moving into a new place in PV. During my almost five years there I stayed all over the place. Unfortunately the conditions of some places are not the best but they're usually not hard to get over with. The place has great potential and the location is great. At 7:25 I could see the house where I stayed across the river in Gringo Gulch. I can relive PV through your videos. You guys rock!
I admire you deeply guys… I would be freaking out piss off yelling at the landlord. That is completely unacceptable. You shutout not be paying rent till he or her fixed all of those details in order to make the house livable and functional. Shame on the landlord
The condition of this apartment is well within standards for rental property by Mexicans for Mexicans; in other words, not made for wealthy foreigners. What fascinates me about this place is that the previous occupants did not literally take the kitchen sink with them when they vacated the place.
i am not sure of the order of the videos, but is the place that got washed out from storms or where you moved to afterwards? love your uplifting videos so much. was in PC over halloween, staying at Pinnacle 180, and thought of you guys fondly. would have loved to meet ya and get a drink
Hope you guys were ok with the storm!!
You guys are funny that opening scene killed me hahaha
Lol! I'm totally happy that you guys have done this. Para mi, this is as cool as ur travel vids.
Congrats on the new place!
I am so impressed you shared this you are positive and it's fixable....also it s good to inform people that many many mexicans have WAY less space... please share what restaurant you were at..all the best 😁😁😁
Love love the tile in your new place! Just hearing the local mexican neighborhood sounds in your video brought back so many good memories. It's gonna be awesome! Curious if renting unfurnished is cheaper there? I'm guessing so? And does the owner give you full freedom to fix, paint etc ?
Congratulations you two and hang in! Thanks for the laughs today 👋
I loved the fancy music featuring your jacked up items.
I think they're trying to rip you off with those cushions... I bet you can get them for way less at Tonalá
congrats guys once it's done it will be amazing
Priceless 30 min. 6:01 to 6:30 LMAO!!! The taco restaurant scene near the end of the video...again, Priceless. LoL. You got this. No problem. Flashlight, Electrical tape and Marrettes.
How much is your rent? I have so many questions? Who is fixing all that electrical? Whose fixing the toilet water issue? Paint is cheap and so are toilet seats... ripped off with couch cushions ... landlord recommendation? Red Flag Bed platforms are easy to have made or buy. Get up off the floor ... creepy crawlies .... you seem to like it a lot and there are reasons you rented it ... it’s just a good thing you speak Spanish ... I’m gonna enjoy this journey but I’m so glad it’s not me
Any topic you didn't cover? Geez
Yeah, the creepy crawlies is what I was thinking when I saw the mattress situation. I'm willing to get them a frame as house warming gift. Gotta get them off the floor.
this is the reality of living in mexico. there's a lot of families who have it worth. their rent is probably pretty low. and tbh a lot of toilets in mexico dont always flush with the handle, which is what i think he meant. there will usually be a bucket next to the toilet. you pour water in the toilet and it will flush. its really not a big deal.
I like your philosophy of life guys , I am a Mexican living my dream life already 15 yrs in east Europe ( Lithuania) and I am totally agree with you, ;) and I see also the potencial of your new place ;)
Congratulations! The space will be amazing as you settle in and make it your own. :). Advice on low risk high reward was well put. I like your thinking.
I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are you paying for rent there?
Can I ask how much you guys are paying for rent? & which area? Also Congrats! It looks like a decently sized space :) & the renovations may take some time but they'll get there. We purchased a place in the U.S & slowly fixed it up. Now it's beautiful and homey :) you guys will get there! Hoping to rent it out so we can move to Puerto Vallarta though. Super excited!
Congrats guys!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Im happy for you!!!!!!!🌷🌷🌷
Moving on up to the east side, finally got a piece of the 🥧
Go to Walmart or the equivalent and in the auto department you can get plastic tube shelving for your closet then go to the sewing section and get what they call Mac tac For your kitchen shelves in what ever design you want .Have fun with it it will all come together you guys are great 👍
If you don't set up a new apartment registry like a wedding for all your fans to help you out, you're loco! :)
Love you guys! Im in PV at least 4 times a year if not more and have only ate at one street taco stand. Didn't get sick but I do try and avoid them.
Congratulations guys God bless you always
Did you say what the rent is? My apologies if I missed it. Curious to know the rent on a fixer upper rental. Though I know it's common in Mx, it's still odd to me that AC, a water heater, appliances, etc., are often the responsibility of the tenant.
Good luck with the home
Greg should get those extendable shower heads, to make it taller.
Living rough helps you appreciate all the little things....set the ego aside and make the best of it....who you are is not an address, but your address will become a reflection of you.
I love watching your videos KinneticKennons!!! You're absolutely my favorite RUclipsrs! Guerra you're a natural Funny Girl. Goyo, you remind me of current day Cary Grant.
Cool 😎 Congratulations guys..exciting
How do you guys stay so fit with all the tempting good foods there? You guys have to workout everyday looking like that 👍
From what I can see, the electrical issues are "finish" and minor, same with the showerheads. buena suerte...y felicitaciones.
I love your place! Lots of great potential.
When I see you guys up the hill going to the gym soon I'll tell you about the foam and fabric place to try and see if they can do custom cushions for alot less........
Awe, it's your first remodel. I love it! Congratulations!! You could go bohemian and put down stuffed floor cushions until you can find a more affordable upholsterer.
digeron nueva casa bien chicos manos a la obra 👍👍👍
Be sure to turn the pots and pans downward before the iguanas move in.
Re: the toilet that doesn't flush--if the tank on the back of that toilet gets water from the pipe and tube that enters it, making it flush may be a matter of going to the hardware store and getting new innards for the tank and installing them. This is much easier than it sounds, and if you wait for the landlord to do it, you young folks might die of old age at 120 years waiting for him to get around to it.
Felizidades.Saludos Saludos desde Tijuana Baja California Mexico. Bendiciones. .
Congrats guys!
Congrats ! 👏🍀
Felicidades amigos
God bless you guys!
Your new Home, its it's, it's, world-class, built on the cutting edge, better than mine, lol, congrats... Se que en unos meses estará al 100 greg.
Great video ! It’s going to be beautiful:) just takes time -
