0:41 I stayed in that Travelodge a few years ago for a family wedding. really fell in love with the town.

Great walk, have done stretches of the river walk but not the whole walk yet. It's fun watching people swimming down the river as well as cool fish, thank u both for sharing :)
After seeing the Pike it put me off swimming in the river. :spotters:

This is favourite local walk, which I do at least 3 times a year. I’d recommend walking on a week day when it’s quieter and starting in Winch, then climb St Catherine’s Hill to see the mizmaze then stop at the Steamtown Brewery in (B)Eastleigh that does great beers and burgers before catching your train home. If I could be on a TV game show I’d like to be on Sale of the Century as I’m a big fan of R4’s “Just a Minute” and the Comic Strip’s “Mr Jolly Lives Next Door” so I could meet Nicholas Bloody Parsons. PS also guessed right on the 6 japapeno’s in the sarnie quiz too

I'd like to have had a go at the krypton factor, mainly for the assault course... mainly for the zipline at the end of it. 😄
I completely forgot about the Krypton Factor! The whole show was just sitting through the boring stuff for the assault course bit.
Great video. The walk from Shawford to Winchester is one of my favourite walks. You do get great views from St Catherine's Hill, but it is a slog to get up it. Stay cool!

I like this walk. St Catherine’s Hill is worth the effort but I always have a mini heart attack by the time I get to the top
I regret not going up there in retrospect. I bet it is great to paint from.
I have always wanted to go on The Crystal Maze, with Richard O'Brien. I would mostly like to go in the Crystal Dome and would be scared of the automatic lock-in ones or the one with the massive spider though.
I think I would find the time limit on the Crystal Maze too stressful and would worry about getting brain freeze and being locked in. The end bit inside the crystal looked cool though.
Question of the day answer; a gameshow called Classic Concentration. Honestly one of the smarter gameshows I had seen that was also a lot of fun!

If I was on a gameshow it would be one where you wouldn't need to know about general knowledge because I'm awful at it. Family fortunes looks fun.
There is always the nagging fear on game shows that you say something stupid and it becomes part of tv folklore forever.

There were some great new pair of sunglasses for sunglasses Marek Lovely walk! Rowan is fun and lovely! I really like walking along canals and water in general, so this was great to watch 🤩 I have no great knowledge of old British gameshows, but perhaps Weakest Link? 🙂

It looked like a pike to me. I always wanted to go on the Adventure Game to see if I could beat the Vortex. I also find a lack of benches, and always thought that benches should be marked on maps.
I agree strongly about benches. There is nothing worse than stopping for lunch on a bit of damp ground only to see a bench 100 yards down the road.
Good to see Soton & Eastleigh again. A great uplifting & fun video from you both with lovely scenery along the way too. Look forward to seeing more South East Walks. Gameshows: Hole in the wall & It's a knockout.

Aww, I'm quite fond of Eastleigh! When I was a kid we'd go there with my Grandparents (they lived just up the line near Botley.) Me and my Mum had a very random encounter there once! I got my ears pierced there for the first time when I was 8 and the lady who did it had the same name as my Dads first wife! (They married young and she left him shortly after. It didnt take me long in life to understand why!!) Anyway, both her first name and our surname aren't that common so it was really weird she was called the same! Pretty sure it wasn't actually her, but Eastleigh is not that far from Portsmouth, which is where they were from, so there's always a chance!!

I used to change the lyrics from to 'people are coming, everyone's trying' to 'people are dying, everyone's crying'. I was about 13 at the time though.

That was indeed a pike.
That walk is the northern part of the Itchen Navigation. I ran the whole route from Winchester right down into Southampton last year. Its about 11 miles in total if you wanted to do the whole thing next time.
That would have saved on taxi fare. Ha.

Yes I always wanted to go on Blockbusters. Bob Holness was an excellent host. I also loved the urban myth that he played the saxophone on Baker Street.

Rowan is so good XD *almost* equal to Carlos for best guest.
Guessed right on the jalapeños, quite chuffed for that.
Also when the ducks all went to you instead of Rowan, i felt that on a personal level. I feel like that happens to me so often hahaha.
As for the game show question, i think id really like some of the 90s nickelodeon game shows. Obstacle courses and slime all over the place, but i would probably severely injure myself if i attempted them now a days.

Holy-Moly forget the mount of Jalapenos in the drivers sandwich, how many sausage sandwiches did you have in that bag for lunch? I counted at least 6,000 .Beautiful part of the country to walk around CD.

Other than the train mishap and the busy roads at the start, that looked like a really nice walk cool dudes - always great to see some wildlife too! Had I not been as shy a child as I was, I would have loved to have been part of a team on one of the first few series of Knightmare before it got too silly with the likes of the Eye Shield and Pickle. Ooh... Nasty! In more recent times I could have had the opportunity to take part in Knightmare Live, which I have seen a number of times, but I am still somewhat shy as an adult. I don't suppose any of those guys are likely to join you for a walk sometime or maybe your Film Fandango friends? That's not to say that Carlos, Rowan and other recent companions haven't been entertaining. Stay cool

Just checked and my high score for the year is 75 (a summer walk around Grasmere), although there's a chance I miscalculated (apparently I saw a giant redwood, but don't remember that at all!). Look forward to not having to add up my own points so much going forward, with your new app!

You guys pack the best packed lunches EXCEPT Rowan’s soft cheese and pickle combo. Egregious. Hard cheeses only with pickle.
