    Absolutely fascinating! This video delves deep into the world of bluefin tuna, from their extraordinary migratory patterns to why they command such high prices in sushi markets. It's incredible to see the balance of tradition and modern technology in fishing practices. A must-watch for seafood enthusiasts and conservationists alike! 🐟🌍🍣

    I have always been a disaster when it comes to cooking fish.
    A captain of a boat told me to follow his directions exactly when he told me how to cook the giant slab of bluefin he gave me and it was divine.
    The only time I ever cooked fish in a 5 star way.
    Divine.

    Bluefin Tuna is like lobster. Where I come from lobsters are considered garbage. Bottom feeders. We call them the "bed bugs of the sea". But then something happened and now all of a sudden it's considered this high end super expensive sea food with high status.

    • @logieburr93
      @logieburr93 7 месяцев назад +1

      What happened was they were overfished and now aren't as sustainable, which drove the price up

      No such thing as a bottom feeder. They all eat each other ignorance and conservation is needed.

    It’s so expensive in the way diamonds are expensive. It’s a created market. In the 70’s it was made into pet food.

      @@reodo9838 That's true. Some tuna seem to be cheap some super expensive. I guess farmed ones are cheap but wild caught ones are expensive and served in high end sushi restaurants.

    I just learned that these fish have recently returned to South West UK waters after overfishing wiped them out. Seems industrial trawlers are hanging around outside of a 200 mile exclusion zone waiting to wipe them out again.🤬
