Absolutely fascinating! This video delves deep into the world of bluefin tuna, from their extraordinary migratory patterns to why they command such high prices in sushi markets. It's incredible to see the balance of tradition and modern technology in fishing practices. A must-watch for seafood enthusiasts and conservationists alike! 🐟🌍🍣
I have always been a disaster when it comes to cooking fish. A captain of a boat told me to follow his directions exactly when he told me how to cook the giant slab of bluefin he gave me and it was divine. The only time I ever cooked fish in a 5 star way. Divine.
Bluefin Tuna is like lobster. Where I come from lobsters are considered garbage. Bottom feeders. We call them the "bed bugs of the sea". But then something happened and now all of a sudden it's considered this high end super expensive sea food with high status.
@@reodo9838 That's true. Some tuna seem to be cheap some super expensive. I guess farmed ones are cheap but wild caught ones are expensive and served in high end sushi restaurants.
I just learned that these fish have recently returned to South West UK waters after overfishing wiped them out. Seems industrial trawlers are hanging around outside of a 200 mile exclusion zone waiting to wipe them out again.🤬

This video is over 24 minutes long. Yet, nearly four minutes into it, I still don’t know why the bluefin tuna is so expensive. It sure looks like someone needs to learn how to write again.
Unfortunately we have countries like Japan Indonesia China that will take what they want. We the people who care have to stop buying and maybe that will slow them down
The same reason why everybody bought in that the king's new clothes were amazing walking down the street when actuality he was naked see people are called gullible there's no reason the cost of the fish should be that expensive when there's millions of them same thing with large crab the Alaskan king crab

What are the environmental impacts of a paper processing factory?

What happened was they were overfished and now aren't as sustainable, which drove the price up
No such thing as a bottom feeder. They all eat each other ignorance and conservation is needed.
Lobster is gold, but tuna is diamond
And it has been your whole life
Wow, it's really unbelievable!
It’s so expensive in the way diamonds are expensive. It’s a created market. In the 70’s it was made into pet food.

Why is bluefish tuna make? 0:46
Interesante y educativo sobre el proceso de apoyo a la economía

Nothing beats Tuna and Salmon Nigiri with a bespoke soy sauce.
🐝🏁 Video 👍
Tuna only taste good with mayonnaise.
and so many other things tase good with mayonaise so i leave the tuna alone.
they need to put a 5 year ban on tuna fishing and let populations bounce back
populations fine
This tuna is for the rich who can afford to buy
Huge and tasty so why so expensive? Can't we farm them?
I heard that they don't taste the same
No. You cant farm Tuna.
@@abdullahakhmadi912 there are tuna farms out there
They are farmed that is why the prices are so different. Almost all the tuna cans in the world are from farmed tuna.

How are workers protected from hazards in a chemical processing factory?
Because people are nuts!
It’s so expensive because of overfishing and it’s going extinct
Um…. The map you used at 3:30 was from the early 1800s. Maybe not the best to sell Alaska back to Russia RN.
Keep the Sushi and gimme some Cod
That 3 million yen. Other wise that’s $ 5000/ lb usd.

I'm a tuna lover, but I can't stomach sushi. I also steer clear of 5-star restaurants, where chefs often use their bare hands to prepare food😔
We pay extra for Fukushima radiation ☢️
Well once China 🇨🇳 get done raiding the sea out in other countries fishing areas. There won't be any fish left. Period !!! 😮
It's wrong bluefin tuna not found in Indian ocean
In southern part
I love tuna but won't eat it raw (sushi). I don't eat 5 star foods because the chefs always using their bare hands to prepare the food. USE GLOVES!
Gloves hold bacteria. Your hands can be washed and sanitized 👍🏾
Wash your hands properly and you don't need gloves! Gloves have more bacteria than washed hands! It's science btw
😂😂 this made me laugh..
I wonder people do in with your food when your waiting in a maccas drive thru mate wake up
gloves got more bacteria than the washed hands, DUMBASSS
I think its overrated as a sushi fish.
Unfortunately we have countries like Japan Indonesia China that will take what they want. We the people who care have to stop buying and maybe that will slow them down

no wonder fish cost so much if farts in a jar is on a market too these days... your own fault humanity
