You landed in my RUclips suggestions recently.. and I couldn't be more grateful. Your work is so clean, and truly the definition of traditional. Thanks for inspiring so many.
Thank you Max! 🙏🏻 your kind words means a lot to me!
The world needs more man like you, sober Joe for president!
You're too kind. But I think we all could start sharing our knowledge more often. Everyone would benefit from it.
props to you. im trying to learn tattooing for many years now. its super hard to get in, especially when you are not a people-person. if i manage to make it, ill help everyone that asks. around here tattooing is only really accessible to people who know somebody, are the kid of a tattooer or are very well-off. lot of tattooers who are not good yet super arogant to people trying to learn. it really sucks honestly.
thank you for sharing the knowledge ❤❤❤
Ohhhh, that's why they call it spit shading! I legitimately did not know you use your spit!
That's correct!
It’s people like this/you that make everyone better as a collective. I’ve been tattooing for a year now and I’ve wanted to do that the first time 15 years ago, but then times where different and everything was more protected and secretive. But being humble and sharing what you can, both back and forth, is great for the community. Keep on making videos. They’re awesome. 🙌🏻
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Thank you for your videos
I love you 🙏
Thank you. Your videos are beyond helpful and super chill. It is extremely wonderful of you to share your knowledge and skills with your audience rather than coveting them away like a lot of other artists do.
Glad you like it! I love sharing the things i've picked up through the years!
Thank you.
Thank you for watching!

Thank you so much for sharing this and sharing your work and expertise in a profession that is notorious for having a lot of gatekeeping. Appreciate it so much.
No problem Emily! I think everyone deserves to know how to paint flash. 👍🏻
So good man!!
Thank you dude!
Traditional tattoos are 100% badass for frickn sure and one day I will be able to afford more haha. Love the video man!
Thank you man! 🙏🏻
Savage content as always! Banger of a finish to that split too 💪
Glad you liked it Sal! 🙏🏻
The paper you recommend is good for lines but I can not use it for paint. I bought some tried it and It’s terrible for me. I love the cold press for paint. But harder to do lines on it. Just my opinion though. You are obviously a pro if you can paint on that paper
Hi! Every paper comes with pros and cons. Thank you for bringing it up. For me, crisp lines are essential and what makes an excellent traditional design, in my opinion, so a hot press paper helps tremendously. When it comes to shading, the cold press is more forgiving.
Love your style man! I could watch this all day! 🤘🏼
Thank you Korey!
Thank you for sharing what you have learned! I Have twin daughters, 5yo, so I don't have all the time I want to learn. Your videos help me improve my spitshading😊 Love from Norway💕
Thank you for the kind words, Thomas. I have two daughters myself, so I kind of know your struggle. Make sure the time you have free counts.
@@SoberjoeSe Thank you for the answer! The twins take their time, but I wouldn't want to be without it😊Squeezing in artworking as much as I can. Hope you and yours are well in these strange times
Great stuff man!
Thank you Daniel! 🙏🏻
First, I truly appreciate your vids! You have ignited my desire to begin to paint. It's something I've always dreamed of but I lacked the confidence to just start. As a beginner, it there a list of brushes, paints, and paper that you'd recommend? Thanks for the inspiration! My journey begins...
Glad to hear it Trevor! I have a list of all the materials that I'm using on my website. Link under the video! Let me know if you need any help starting out and I'll make sure to help. DM me on instagram @soberjoecollective
I love the greens in your flash. Is this the watered down Jade you used in previous pieces?
Hi Mike! This is 640 Bluish Green from Talens Ecoline diluted with water. Hope it helps!
@@SoberjoeSe it does! cheers!
Great video!!! What brush did you use when staining your flash if you don't mind me asking?
Thank you! 🙏🏻 I often use a brush that’s closest and big enough. This one, I think, is a child’s brush from IKEA 😱😂
Thank you the reply!🙏have a great rest of your day!
