@94Gtxgohan engine actually comes out pretty easy. The engine cage is easily removable. Ive never seen TC's shop but would like to check it out. If I do ill post a vid.
haha really weird watching a video of this buggy and it being so quiet, I can hear birds and stuff in the back ground. Love the axle idea I think it just inspired me on what to do with my axles on my crawler. Im sure those axles are much lighter that a full rockwell 2.5 with better clearance too.
@BustedKnuckleVideo If done correctly they are around 60lbs. When you already have a 600+ lb axle, I think an extra 60lbs and twice the bending strength is smart.
Tim has multiple buggys, custom, which at least two of which have lsx 454's in them. Which have titanium valves, pushrods, and lifters from GM. I think hes got the money for titanium axles lol. especially since he already has 2 ton rockwells on there already.
Beast axles! Plate that tube truss. It may not flow with the tube theme, but it will Disperse the force evenly. Plate is not heavy. 20lbs more of unsprung weight is not going to effect that axle/tire set up at all.
He broke one in half and he still hasn't put a good plate truss on the axles? You would think if you are going to go all the way to put rockwell outers on, you would build some bullet proof trusses.
Agreed, but I assume he's already figured something easily serviced to play that part - bolts, maybe. having watched a few videos of his, and other's, machines, the thing that struck me was the lack of forward visability as normally that's very important but ,then again, it looks like it's more a case of power over finesse. Do any of the States guys use Mercedes style step down hubs for diff' clearance, as it would seem they'd have a tendency to hang up on roacks, etc - straight axles, I mean.
I was looking into building a custom tube chassis 4x4 vehicle with 2.5 ton Rockwells front and rear,l with Ouverson 4.90 gears, a turbocharged gen 3 LS (either a 4.8L, 5.3L,or 6.0L which ever I can get to first since my firstone might not last ), a built 6L80, an Atlas II or SCS 2-speed transfercase, on 40 inch tires then attaching Jeep body panels so that it looks like a factory Jeep to the uniformed. How does everyone feel about my drive train selection of Rockwells, Turbo LS, 6L80 transmission a 2-Speed transfercase. Or do I need to change some things before I start my build? Thanks in advance for any and all advice, opinions, or answers. Regards
The 14bolt outers were top of the line Dana 60 stuff. The RCVs coulnt hold up and neither could the inner knuckle so he went with 2.5 ton outers.
@cj15941
nope he has just spun a bearing in his motor and destroyed the tcase so far. Oh and he cracked the housing at the tube....
@jasonj411
correct but there has to be a weak link somewhere.
@warsteiner05
no doubt. he already cracked the housing.
@94Gtxgohan

@TheJRGJR
I have seen a few of these guys with plate trusses. He already had to bend the front one back already.

@TheMonkee169
yep Him and shelbys rigs.
i doubt they have better ground clearance that a rockwell but they are lighter for sure!
@acb5015
plate trusses are freakin heavy.
@SCAREMONGERe
dont think so. unless the lsx454 uses some.
@warsteiner05
watch our video of his run at the Gorilla run comp. He smacked them on some rocks quite a few times. It was violent.
He has has had multiple buggies. Never more than one at a time though.
@JeepinDG
self centering rear steer.
@WayALife95
exactly.

@ipaintyou1
everything can be upgraded! Tcase is next!
yeah they are tough.
sure is.
wait til you see the new axles!
nothing is made that Tim can't destroy.
@quader1521
correct.

looks like 2.5 outers 14 bolt center and some real beefy tubing
@allmotorhash
already broke the housing.
@TheGilbertsonfamily
2.5 ton
nope but his old buggy Fat girl has been in it.
And I remember you telling me that sticky tires were "too expensive"
@acb5015
Good point.

cant hide it.

@countryboy1234ify
yessir on a 14bolt center with oveurson shafts!
@cj15941
you get tired of breaking parts every weekend....
for some reason..the birds make it even cooler
Has Cameron ever applied for, or been in, the Top Truck Challenge?
awesome thks. his axles are just baaaad azzz and half the weight of rockwells i imagine!

who has the money for titanium?
20 ton outers awta due!!
Those look kinda like planetary gear axles. Similar to the ones in trucks. I think titanium would work better
those aren't 2.5 rockwells either.14bolt centers rockwell knuckles
where are those knuckles coming from ..? ( custom ? )
Insane SICK.. I love it
Read the description already been said.
but will it blend?
Where can i find some detailed articles on building a 14 bolt front
??
crawl magazine
portal boxes cant take the abuse.
Are those 2.5 or 5 ton outers?
2 1/2ton outters?
@86powerram
lol
way lighter
@686868daniel
they might last a ride. LOL
what axle shafts does he run with this set up?
@suckyalaterhead
Oveurson Engineering
@lepirate3030
haha
chirp chirp
Iv seen the way u abuse then in alot of ur vids and damn those r tuff as nails
Где взять чертежи?
too much weight
I'll bet someone $100 bucks hell still find a way to snap these like tooth picks
screw the axles... there ganna break the trees
@warsteiner05 $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ lol can do just about anything
Monster trucks sorry
