In these cases it's a matter of convenience and money. Odds are they really aren't married, she is getting money from the taxpayers, especially with 5 kids (15k in just tax credit), maybe in her old home she was squatting and the landlord was finally able to get her evicted, that's why she is back. There is probably a whole back story involving a lot of fraud they're not telling you.
And now he, his real wife and 5 kids, can move back to the house the wife owns and eject their squatters

I have owned a rental management company in North Idaho for eight years. I also had a rental house in Los Angeles. The difference in tenants between the two places is unbelievable. I now only do business in North Idaho because being a landlord in Los Angeles was a nightmare. However, I no longer do vacation rentals anywhere. We had a treehouse on Coeur d’Alene lake that slept 4. The vacation renter brought in about 50 people for a party and split the boat deck in half and it floated across the lake. The police had to be called in. I have other vacation rental horror stories. None of the problem renters were from Idaho. Renters in Idaho are not perfect, but they are far better than in California or Washington (did business there too) and Idaho does give the landlord rights, unlike some other states.

A business professional who had fabulous write ups in the newspaper. She came with accolades from everyone. She was Gizmo in the beginning & now she is a GREMLIN. My tenant in my nice suburban A +school district has an illegal massage business openly posted online from 5pm-5am. In addition, she has busted out numerous windows, tearing down 3 sets of security systems, threatening to burn the house down, not taking out trash which has resulted in MAJOR fines, cursing me out, not letting repair men in for repairs she demanded, throwing GIGANTIC globs of artificial hair down the toilet-along with metal bottle caps. She's also trying to extort me for OVER $10,000 to leave. I hired a property manager to communicate with her & the property manager fled IMMEDIATELY. I have went to court 3 times with my lawyer. I have a stack of evidence as high as Mt. Everest. I am now awaiting the verdict. I will NEVER. EVER.IN.LIFE rent again. Pray the me.....sorry to hear of your LIVING nightmare as well.😥
It's the stereotyping and the tenants playing victim in ways that pull at others heartstrings. The people they complain to don't see the other side, literally. No one see's the bad backgrounds, bad credit, dirty behavior, constant broken promises, small things to the tenant which are huge to the landlord (these are generally forgivable misunderstandings so long as both sides fix whatever causes it) etc. Most tenants are good but the bad ones are just beyond belief.

The laws need to be revised to absolutely eliminate squatting. Not a 6 month process, rather, a 6 day process start to finish.

@@16MedicRN not section 8, for you have to apply for it and this was not a section 8 property. With the code violations, the section 8 would have been revoked when the property was inspected for section 8, for the inspect the property every year.
And he still gonna live there for free until the eviction comes through

I agree. He knew the house was a piece of crap. Who rents a house for $1375 in San Diego? The house was a dump and the owner is a slumlord. Takes a certain type of person to want to live there and they're not doing well economically, I can tell you that.

This renter/rentee relationship was doomed with the oral agreement instead of an actual lease.
I have an aunt who has 5 renters in NY, the lease means NOTHING when it comes to protecting the landlord. She has two renters that haven't paid rent in over 18 months that the judges keep giving extensions for and I quote, "We have no place to go and no money.".

There is literally no winning, if you have a lot of kids they complain, if you get an abortion because you say I can't afford kids the complain, they say take birth control but that causes complications and isn't safe for everyone (myself included I almost died from severe asthma attacks after starting birth control, once I stopped my asthma got better) they say well you didn't use protection, but you'll have dudes fight tooth and nail not to use it or take it off midway. Then they say well keep your legs close. Hmm okay I'll never have anymore sex, then it's well the reason why you're single is you wouldn't put out. Yeah okay there is no winning sometimes. Maybe some people should stop telling others how to live their lives. And yes children are a blessing and considering that everyone that has ever lived was once a child, some of those children parents couldn't "afford" but still found a way to make it work.

She believed the renter was lying about having rent money and that he wasnt/couldn't pay. Caught in his lie she told him to use the money he saved to move out, which meant the pay to move bill was paid. Renter was lying he saved 5k like his wife has a house.
If I was JJ, I would make the guy pay the rent and move out.

What made Judge Judy very popular was her manner of handling cases brought forth to her. She would show no mercy, she was tough, she was arrogant, she would chastise the people involved, she wouldn’t listen & chooses to give judgements which very often was unacceptable and unjustified. She made millions by doing it. Before she went on TV she was a struggling judge.
