    Cactuar, many, many thanks for this video. I changed out my factory, 34 yr old injectors yesterday to the newer Bosch 4 ports, though I did use BMW o-rings at the head and rail, they seemed chunkier. I had this video on the laptop while I worked through the process. I bought a few back up EV-1 clips, and a few injector clips to be safe. The old injectors looked so bad, I can't believe the car was running, well even. It now sings, and it's a little smoother everywhere, and "seems" to pull a little hard in the 3-4.5k rev range; confirmation bias. : )
    Thanks again for the time and effort it takes to put these videos together. I'm headed off the car meet today, so all the kids can look at my car like it's from Pleistocene era and ask about it.

    Beautiful, classy car. I love the colour and those wheels look great on the E32! We have the same mentality when it comes to maintenance, - take care of the mechanicals first, then the cosmetics, and always use OEM and factory-style parts! Keep up the good work.

    • @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec
      @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec  3 года назад

      Thanks! It is a great color. The wheels were OE on the E38 750.
      These cars need to be treated with more care than a typical car, preventative maintenance is key, using quality parts. It looks like you are following the same philosophy!

    Thanks for this video! I resolved a hot start issue on my 535i by replacing the injectors. Mine was a little different, it has an EML. But I never would have had the confidence to try without this video.
    Not sure if its something you would do, but I haven't been able to find any content on making sure that the AFM is correctly adjusted.

      It's always cool to hear that my videos helped someone! Glad you were able to replace the injectors on your 535 and that it fixed your issue.
      I believe the barn-door style AFM isn't adjustable? But I could be wrong... I don't know enough on the subject to make a video. But it's a good idea for the future.

      @@ClassicBMWFanInQuebec I can tell mine has been fiddled with by a previous owner because it has been opened. There are videos like this (ruclips.net/video/yQukm7lNux4/видео.html) explaining how to do it. But the only way to know if you've adjusted correctly seems to be by measuring emissions. Not sure how I would do this at home.
      Do you know the name or part number of the connecter at 6:35 in your video, on my car there are just 3 bare wires plugged into this connecter and I would like to buy a refit a proper connector.

    Great job as always! My 735iL is now starting to sway badly in the rear. I have polyurethane trailing arm bushings on the way, hope to have installed soon for summer! Keep up the top notch work!

    • @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec
      @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec  3 года назад +2

      Hi bmp130, thanks for watching! About the trailing arms, there is a spread sheet that a bimmerforum member built for the E34 chassis cars and it lists all the parts to replace in order to restore or improve the handling. Our E32's share many of the same parts. In this spread sheet it is highly recommended to *not* install poly bushing in the rear trailing arms. Instead it is better to use the OE part. The spread sheet can be found here, I hope it helps you! www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2443445-Suspension-Overhaul-Excel-Sheets

    • @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec
      @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec  3 года назад

      They are Bosch 62417 injectors. They are for the E30 318i, E34 535i and E32 735i/IL. Basically the Motronic 1.3 cars.

    Great video, I got a question, what is the part number of the new injectors? Cus Bosch one's are too expensive!

    • @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec
      @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec  2 года назад +1

      The injectors I used are Bosch 62417. They aren't that expensive (47 CAD each on Rockauto), but I agree when you order six it does add up. Still it's a lot more affordable than buying the injectors from BMW. They are 340 CAD, each! (part 13641706176)
      I would recommend saving for a bit and buying six new Bosch injectors when you are ready. Don't use cheap eBay injectors in your M30.

    so the idle issue was the injectors?

    • @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec
      @ClassicBMWFanInQuebec  3 года назад +2

      I am not so sure. The idle is better, and the hunting is less pronounced. But it's still there... The engine is smoother however, so that's an improvement. It doesn't shake as much.
