  • Critical failures in leadership among specific law enforcement officers who rushed to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde are blamed by the Justice Department in a new 575-page report being made public nearly 20 months after the massacre that left 19 students and two teachers dead. CNN’s Shimon Prokupecz reports.

    Was it just a “leadership” problem or was it an issue of shameful cowardice? I believe that if even reasonable people were in that position their reasonable bravery implicit in humans would have prevented the scale of this terrible event. A civilian cannot do it since law enforcement are the only ones allowed to do it by law. If you don’t have the courage - don’t take on that role and get out of the way so that someone with bravery can do it.

      Courage, defind as simply overcoming their fears and trusting their training, experience and skills, was absent. The police officers were better trained, better equipped, and out-numbered the shooter by far; yet, they waited for 77 minutes to take action, while children were being killed and parents pleaded for help. Horrible! Negligent!

      No we can't all agree with that narrative. This is an isolated incident. You can't just throw all police under the bus, just because of this particular failure. The vast majority police do their job and with bravery/integrity. Buying into some false stereotype, about all police being cowards and liars, just like any stereotype is just dumb.

    • @most7467
      @most7467 3 месяца назад +3

      @@timmartin7664 what does anything you said have to do with my comment, which was very specific and mentioned none of that? No one talked about their bravery, no one talked about their integrity (although I would certainly question the integrity of someone who lies as the officers for here, but, I didn't do that). Fact of the matter, what police say initially very often isn't what actually happened but does in fact drive "the narrative". I'll give specific examples BESIDES THIS ONE so we are clear; the baby that was flash banged last week and Elijah McClain come to mind but you can go all of the way back to Tamir Rice. The things told in those initial police reports were lies and nothing short of that. That doesn't paint ALL police, that paints BAD police. And until we call that out consistently, 2 things happen; good cops get lumped in with bad cops, doing exactly what you are against and police will continue to not hold themselves accountable. For the record police should be held to a higher standard, they have the power of life and death and very often don't exercise that well and aren't held accountable because people are afraid of hurting their feelings

    This was not an example of mere cowardice. They stopped people, including armed good samaritans, from taking action both before he even entered the school and after the shooting started. Backed by the power of the state and armed with pistols and rifles, these officers directly and specifically provided protection to the man who killed 19 people who were in that school, one of whom was the wife of a responding ISD officer, who they ALSO forbade from intervening, going so far as to detain and disarm their colleague, removing him from the scene. If you help someone commit a crime, you are on the hook for everything they do. That includes the crimes that the police themselves commited outside and inside the school. Now that the DOJ has concluded their findings are consistent with what we knew years ago, no outcome for these men and women is acceptable but that they be tried and convicted for their crimes. Accomplice to 1st degree murder, assault, assault with a deadly weapon, obstruction of justice, false arrest/kidnapping, the list goes on. And yes, all of them. Not just the chief, he just happens to be the leader.

    It’s understandable that that was in charge in the police department of that small Arizona town we’re basically cowards they had the equipment and they had a training but they allowed innocent children to die. It will serve no purpose to put them in prison, but at the same time they should not retain their offices in the lawn, Forssman community it would not surprise me, but the members of that law-enforcement community. Did not respond more quickly because of the type of people who lived in the community. There really is no way of excepting what happened to these innocent children

    I have been saying those police were cowards and could have been went in since the video was first released. There were many instances in the video tape where they had multiple chances to go in and save more kids. They should ALL be fired and charged! When you take an oath to protect, you have to do that.

See 1967 borders. So, self-defense is not an invasion. Israel are the FIRST invaders causing all the problems. Palestinians have a birth right to this land. Israel does not. He wasn't threating anyone when the police entered his classroom because everybody else inside was already deceased. He was only 18 years old, he had so much more to live for. Rest in peace Salvador Ramos.
