- Critical failures in leadership among specific law enforcement officers who rushed to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde are blamed by the Justice Department in a new 575-page report being made public nearly 20 months after the massacre that left 19 students and two teachers dead. CNN’s Shimon Prokupecz reports.

Yeah, no shit. Hundreds of police officers on the scene and they waited 90 minutes while children are screaming to storm the door.
Command ordered the officers not to engage because they thought the shooter was an illegal immigrant and they wanted to make a political statement about the border.
This is the school that had a mom break through the police line to go save her kid right?
sadly yes
Saved her kid and a whole classroom . Then they tried to arrest her afterwards .
Was it just a “leadership” problem or was it an issue of shameful cowardice? I believe that if even reasonable people were in that position their reasonable bravery implicit in humans would have prevented the scale of this terrible event. A civilian cannot do it since law enforcement are the only ones allowed to do it by law. If you don’t have the courage - don’t take on that role and get out of the way so that someone with bravery can do it.
It’s both . Everyone is a leader - they failed to step up and take charge of the situation .
Courage, defind as simply overcoming their fears and trusting their training, experience and skills, was absent. The police officers were better trained, better equipped, and out-numbered the shooter by far; yet, they waited for 77 minutes to take action, while children were being killed and parents pleaded for help. Horrible! Negligent!
Command ordered the officers not to engage because they thought the shooter was an illegal immigrant and they wanted to make a political statement about the border.
There’s a lot of chicken hearted cops. Especially in that culture
The French ambassador to Russia was summoned to the Foreign Ministry after the attack on mercenaries in Kharkov. 60 foreign soldiers (French) were killed
These families still haven’t gotten justice. ? These murders were aided and abetted by all the police and personnel on-site that day.
So pretty much the report states how cowardly those officers were at that time. 😡🤬🤬😡
More than 90% of the police officers in the US are incompetent and corrupt people that are just there to earn free checks and retirement benefits😢😢😮
Several parents got arrested for trying to run into the classroom unarmed, untrained, and with zero body armor/equipment.Shows the levels of cowardice and corruption.
The police shouldn’t have stopped the parents from trying to help their kids - at least they were trying to do something besides stand around
I am from Turkey, if the police here showed so much cowardness like in Uvalde on that day, the parents would beat up the police, they would be more afraid of the parents than of the shooter, promised.
More than 90% of the police officers in the US are incompetent and corrupt people that are just there to earn free checks and retirement benefits😢😢😮
I'm still offended by Pete Arendondo's statement to Shimon Prokupecz... "I will give you the info when *Parents quit grieving* " It was one of the worst thing an official to parents who are actually grieving the loss of their kid... *THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED* !
Wow I wasn't aware of that statement. That Pete guy is trash.
So can we all agree that we shouldn't take the word of the police as fact without evidence anymore?
No we can't all agree with that narrative. This is an isolated incident. You can't just throw all police under the bus, just because of this particular failure. The vast majority police do their job and with bravery/integrity. Buying into some false stereotype, about all police being cowards and liars, just like any stereotype is just dumb.
@@timmartin7664 what does anything you said have to do with my comment, which was very specific and mentioned none of that? No one talked about their bravery, no one talked about their integrity (although I would certainly question the integrity of someone who lies as the officers for here, but, I didn't do that). Fact of the matter, what police say initially very often isn't what actually happened but does in fact drive "the narrative". I'll give specific examples BESIDES THIS ONE so we are clear; the baby that was flash banged last week and Elijah McClain come to mind but you can go all of the way back to Tamir Rice. The things told in those initial police reports were lies and nothing short of that. That doesn't paint ALL police, that paints BAD police. And until we call that out consistently, 2 things happen; good cops get lumped in with bad cops, doing exactly what you are against and police will continue to not hold themselves accountable. For the record police should be held to a higher standard, they have the power of life and death and very often don't exercise that well and aren't held accountable because people are afraid of hurting their feelings
@@timmartin7664 furthermore, when did cops become anything more than human? Why in the world would you ever take a cops word without evidence?
More than 90% of the police officers in the US are incompetent and corrupt people that are just there to earn free checks and retirement benefits😢😢😮
@@timmartin7664The act of cops lying to the public is not an isolated incident. Their act of cowardice was an isolated act.
Another prime example of why police do not deserve automatic reverence or respect. If a police officer or agency is able to gain the respect of its population through action, that’s awesome. But just because you’re a cop doesn’t mean you get automatic respect
This was an inside job by the cia and the Mexican mafia. If you’re mad at anyone- be mad at the corrupt CIA, FBI and this fraudulent and illegitimate biden/obama admin.
Some people confuse fear with respect 😁
Another cop hater and probably run afoul of the law numerous times?

Tell us something we don't know! I saw one bad guy with a gun that day, I saw dozens of 'good guys' with guns, and they were scared into inaction.
And bullet proof vests. And shields. And ALLLLLL the tactical equipment and they still just stood there in the hallway.
Most police officers worry more about looking good, looking tough and role-playing than actually doing the job as police officers.
Pushing around law abiding citizens and fearing the criminals
Uvalde will forever become a guide as to what not to do, to schools across the Nation, during a school massacre.
It’s a symptom of a problem! Not enough good people are filling the leadership positions in our country in local government, state government, federal government…
'there have been over 80 school shootings across America in 2023 alone'
How many are inner city vs more rural areas? How many were in defense rather than offensive?
Copy cat crimes! Shown to America. It wakes up evil. You can talk about it, but showing it and how it was preformed is the problem.

I need a DOJ report to tell me that??? When they refused to go inside I knew it was a failure on the spot!!!
Unfortunately, those kids needed dedicated police officers, not heros, but officers that were willing to overcome their fears and do their jobs.
Your judgment falls to death ears. The media is notorious for showing copy cat crimes. It woke the evil in this community.

It will be good to hear the report and the studied evaluation.
Really. The terrorists of Uvalde held parents at gunpoint, and did everything they could to prolong the attack.
In light of their actions, one can only conclude that they wanted to support the gunman and then assassinate him once he'd done their dirty work.
Command ordered the officers not to engage because they thought the shooter was an illegal immigrant and they wanted to make a political statement about the border.
to think cops were sitting on their hands, more focused on stopping parents saving their children then saving the children who were being executed one by one... so much for "good guys with a gun"
...wow, tell us something we don't already know ~ as if a "report" that took 2 yrs to write corrected that opinion? common sense rules
Everyone of these school school shootings all the way back to the very first one could have been prevented. Someone, family, friends and students even law enforcement all knew these shootings were in the making and could have been prevented.
It is so strange that this is only really a problem of this scale in the USA. I wonder what the reason could be? Don't say guns because it has to be any and everything BUT guns. /S
Let the lawsuits begin and it's going to go up to the federal government
DOJ finding: suspect wasn’t black so law enforcement decided to order coffee and donuts while waiting for the gunman to die of old age.
Command ordered the officers not to engage because they thought the shooter was an illegal immigrant and they wanted to make a political statement about the border.
They were too busy clearing out black schools to house illegal migrants
It took this long to figure that out !
the report now is only to make it formal. we all knew from different news sources so many went wrong those hours.
Well yeah. Thank you, captain obvious. Was that ever really disputed by anyone? I thought this was pretty well understood already.
So reporting the OBVIOUS...
Law enforcement too afraid to go in and save the children 😞. Massive SHAME !!!!
In my opinion, every officer on that scene, inside & out, are at least as culpable as the shooter, if not more.
This was not an example of mere cowardice. They stopped people, including armed good samaritans, from taking action both before he even entered the school and after the shooting started. Backed by the power of the state and armed with pistols and rifles, these officers directly and specifically provided protection to the man who killed 19 people who were in that school, one of whom was the wife of a responding ISD officer, who they ALSO forbade from intervening, going so far as to detain and disarm their colleague, removing him from the scene. If you help someone commit a crime, you are on the hook for everything they do. That includes the crimes that the police themselves commited outside and inside the school. Now that the DOJ has concluded their findings are consistent with what we knew years ago, no outcome for these men and women is acceptable but that they be tried and convicted for their crimes. Accomplice to 1st degree murder, assault, assault with a deadly weapon, obstruction of justice, false arrest/kidnapping, the list goes on. And yes, all of them. Not just the chief, he just happens to be the leader.
Parents need to sue tue hell out of the city and state
Police had 77 minutes, they lack courage not funding. Shame on them, yellow bellied police
yet they SWAT innocent peoples homes all the time and injure/shoot children - the irony is ludicrous
When you have cowards running the police department and officers not willing to disobey orders to save lives then try to cover it up. It’s upsetting to say the least
Nice to see that the DOJ care so much about all those dead children that this report only took almost 2 years
Initial crime scene investigation was hampered by too many people going to have a look at classrooms 111 and 112, while the gunman’s hellfire trigger system - only later recovered from a trash can - was not catalogued as evidence because teams didn’t know what it was or its possible relevance, the Justice Department report finds. Further, an FBI offer to process the shooter’s truck before a storm was not accepted, it says, leading to heavy rain compromising evidence there.
The Justice Department assessment also looks at how families and the public were told what had happened at Robb Elementary and how an initial narrative of brave first responders saving lives was false.
From a lack of information in Spanish offered to residents of the half-Latino town to erroneous messages posted - and not corrected - by the school district and police, many communication errors have had lasting damage, the report states.
Parents whose children were dead were misled at the civic center-turned-reunification site and at hospitals, it finds: One family member who said they’d been told their child was at the hospital went from staff member to staff member there describing their child, only to be told they were not there - then later finding out the child was deceased and had been at the hospital for hours, unidentified.
And though the Justice Department report marks the most robust effort so far to detail the school shooting nightmare, Uvalde victims’ families still don’t have all the information they need: The local district attorney has not yet completed her inquiry into what happened that day, including whether any law enforcement officer should be criminally charged.
Oh we know. But ur in america ur kids come last money first

We all must remember that this terrible tragedy occurred in a, Gun Free Zone. Gun free zones can include schools, movie, theaters, college, campuses, shopping centers, or any other location with the gun, free or sign on their property. If we look at the location of the majority of mass shootings that occur in the country will see that they have occurred in, gun free zones. Clearly, it would appear that we are all much safer in a gun store.
We have an acted common sense gun laws that we thought would keep us safer, but just the opposite has happened.
how many mass shooting events were ended by "a good person with a gun"?
@@unom8. Thank you for reading my post and responding to it. I haven’t really determined that number. If you know the number, I wish you would share. I recall that some of these gunman who violated both state and federal law were dispatched by law-enforcement. I also remember that some of these shooters took their own lives.
The purpose of my post was to point out the dangers, the people face when they enter a gun free zone, and to be aware of more common sense, gun laws that some are proposing that could create even more danger.
We don’t need automatic weapons
This shooting happened in Texas, the state that makes it super easy to get firearms. There were 100 armed police officers that stood outside that classroom while children died. The guns didn’t help
@@armandoaranda2705. Fully automatic weapons are greatly restricted in the USA. Motion picture producers do have access to fully automatic weapons as due class three firearms dealers. But in the past majority of instances, fully automatic, military weapons are prohibited in the United States.
We do see these weapons on a daily basis in some Middle East countries, Yemen and Somalia and Afghanistan come to mind. We must also understand that the AK-47 was designed to be operated by a person with a third grade mentality.
the main problem we all talked that day was that they erroneously address the situation.
Wow these cops were really afraid to save these babies. How do they sleep at night???
It blows my mind how nobody has pointed out the fact that this school was majority and brown Mexican kids and most of the kids who died were Brown and Mexican is there any question why they didnt move fast enough! ?
I remember the story of the funeral home worker that was next door who saw the shooter go into the school. The worker went to go get his glock but was stopped by the police to let them handle it.
There a lot of corruption in the police departments and schools district's. State troopers ,Texas Rangers, F B I , DO J ,county sheriff, city police. I know for a fact. I used to worked Donna isd . I was bully, harass, assaulted and injured and wrongful terminated and retaliation my son was still a student and was almost killed, head injury, had surgery and has been covered up.
