Maurice needs to understand that his son is growing up in a different world than the world that he grew up in and therefore what worked for Maurice when he was growing up is not gonna work for his son. And just because Kimmy is feeling like herself to some degree doesn’t mean he can just back off from parenting. Because at the end of the day, MJ is not Kimmy’s son. He is Maurice his son and therefore Maurice needs to do whatever he needs to do to steer his son on the right path because he’s the one that wanted to have his son full-time now he got him he needs to do what he needs to do.
