(I'll end the timestamps later I swear)
    0:09 Hicups - Hicka (thick "k")
    0:50 Bless you - Prosit (weak "r")
0:58 Thank you - Tak (as you read it)
1:07 Cute - Söt (pronounced as Seot, but as an adjective is Sott)
1:45 Happy Birthday - Grattis på födelsedagen (weak but remaining t, pao, foaldesedoggen)
2:26 Congratulations - Grattis (weak remaining t). Another form of happy bday
2:51 Victory - Seger (seager. Sounds way too similar to Yeager......)
    3:06 Hospital - Sjukhus (hyukus)
Sjuk (hyuk, weak k) - Sick
    hus (jhus) - House
3:35 Rainbow - Rengbåge (Reng boagge = eren yeager?????. Weak a)
    4:01 Spoon
    4:12 Chocolate
    4:27 Give it your all!
    5:06 Valentine's day
    5:23 Strawberry
    5:58 Orange
    6:21 Apple
    6:36 Orange Juice
    6:47 "I didn't sign up for this"
    7:01 Castle
As someone who doesn't speak swedish, this is how I hear the pronounciation! It might seem weird because I'm not a native english speaker either hehe. Feel free to correct me!

I noticed that Swedish is very similar to Dutch and German in some ways, for example:
the 'hiss sound' and the kind of "flat" pronunciation of words
'slott' can also mean 'castle' in Dutch but just with one 't'
the fact that a strawberry literally translates to 'earth geezer' when in Dutch and German that's 'earth berry'
'orange' in Dutch is 'sinaasappel' (tho in german it's 'Orange') which is kind of similar to 'appelsin', just flipped

    note on the "jordgubbe" part
we also say "jorden" when refering to the earth as a planet.
jord by itself is usually refered to the ground/earth, and also when we go out and buy soil we refer to it as "jord" too
id personally call "jord gubbe" an old soilman in the literal sense lol
"gubbe" is usually a term for old man, usually used in a derogatory manner (kinda like ojisan), but it can be used in an endearing way, such as "little dude" we could say "lilla gubbe"
and fun fact: pippi lonstocking's horse is called lilla gubben (the little dude)! :D
also i like how ike can (probably) spell long words correctly, but can't spell apelsin lmaoooo

    • @miwiarts
      @miwiarts 2 года назад +1

Tbf "apelsin" sounds like it should be spelled as "appelsin", so I completely understand why lol

  • @miwiarts
    @miwiarts 2 года назад +5

Ike accidentally spelled "Apelsin" wrong, but for a good reason.
In Swedish "Apelsin" is pronounced as if it is spelled as "appelsin" (the distinction between a "short a" and a "long a" is signalled by the repetition of the following consonant), thus the confusion.
Considering that Ike had to juggle two to three languages in his brain at all times, I don't blame him at all. 💙🇸🇪
    I hope this helps!

As much as I love hearing someone speak Swedish, the pronunciation triggers me at the same time. I speak Swedish, it's my native language, but I'm not from Sweden. I'm from Finland and we speak finno-swedish (Finlandssvenska). It's the exact same grammar, we just pronounce words differently. In my opinion, finno-swedish is easier to pronounce than Swedish. However I am happy when someone speaks Swedish because you don't hear it much on the internet.
